@kittysmugglers You have to save/load after changing the sandbox settings. Setting the comment chance to 0, or turing the boredom system off entirely should disable it.
kittysmugglers 16 Oct @ 6:34pm
is there a way to completely disable the player character commenting on eating food? it seems no matter what i do in sandbox settings it never works :(
Black_moons  [author] 12 Oct @ 8:29am
@FirePokemon Vanilla is 2.2 IIRC. So you could just turn off the changes entirely. At some point I'll likely set it up as a sandbox option or something.
FirePokemon 12 Oct @ 12:29am
@Black_moons I ended up changing the multiplier to 2.0 for these two:

local nutritionFactor = 2.0 * fishSizeData.weight / item:getActualWeight()
item:setActualWeight(fishSizeData.weight * 2.0)

It suits my playstyle of doing a day of fishing and getting enough food for 3-4 days, minus the 40kg catches at level 2 fishing you would get in B42 vanilla. It might be a bit high for what you're trying to achieve though.
Black_moons  [author] 11 Oct @ 6:09pm
FirePokemon: gimme feedback on what you adjust it to. I'm guessing upping the small fish to 300~500 cals or something would be a good start.

I just haven't had the time to test it for hours in debug mode at different fishing levels.
FirePokemon 11 Oct @ 6:05pm
@Black_moons I think in B42 vanilla the small fish calories were offset by the absolute monsters you could randomly catch that would feed you for a week, even though it was way too OP. I actually like your changes to stop that happening. Anyway I found the BFcreateFish function and will manually adjust it to my liking, thanks for the great mod!
Black_moons  [author] 11 Oct @ 4:51pm
@FirePokemon Fishing is known to be pretty meh in B42 until higher levels, Make sure your fishing where splashes occur on the water surface as well. You can also disable the fish changes in the sandbox options (Save/load and it will take effect on the next fish you catch), but basically they result in 1/4 as big of fish, so even if it was off you'd still only have a 200 calorie fish instead.
FirePokemon 11 Oct @ 4:30pm
Has anyone tried fishing with this mod? I'm getting almost all small fish that give 50-60 calories after cooking which doesn't even cover the energy to find insects and stand there fishing. Do your catches drastically improve as skill increases or is fishing a net negative now?
Smiley Face Killer 11 Oct @ 8:51am
Okay thank you
Black_moons  [author] 11 Oct @ 8:51am
@Smiley Face Killer Shouldn't matter.
Smiley Face Killer 11 Oct @ 8:40am
Should we load this before or after other food mods? Like sapph's and Vanilla foods expanded
Black_moons  [author] 8 Oct @ 5:48pm
Tried reproducing error with reproduction instructions from @Maddiedoggie but was unable to reproduce with SOTO+Tidy up meister.

@Veloquix: Soto has so many traits, I can't guess what traits might be causing the issue. Eating food with Soto and no traits produces no error on my end.

Please specify: The error callstack, the exact food item you ate, your mod load order, traits and currently equipped items.
Veloquix 8 Oct @ 3:47pm
Fresh save, SOTO and this enabled and gives an error when eating food. Have not tried new save with no traits though
Black_moons  [author] 8 Oct @ 2:50pm
Does it happen with a new save and no traits? I can't seem to reproduce, though It might have been already fixed by the other bug I fixed.

Simple Occupation and Traits Overhaul
Maddiedoggie 8 Oct @ 6:48am
It happens with vanilla fluids. I try to drink a can of cola and no matter how much my character doesn't actually drink it and I get an error.
Black_moons  [author] 7 Oct @ 11:28pm
Thanks for the bug reports. I assume this is whenever you drink a fluid added by mods? Iv found a small bug with that. If its with vanilla fluids too, please post the error and exact fluid you drank, as well as if you drank 1/4 1/2 3/4 or all.
Veloquix 7 Oct @ 6:55pm
Can confirm same error, SOTO user
gmodlover911 7 Oct @ 2:39pm
i get the same error i also use soto
Maddiedoggie 7 Oct @ 1:31pm
I can't paste it here but it seems to be a compatibility issue on my end. It may be tidy up meister or SOTO? Those are the other too showing up in the error log.
Rachel L 7 Oct @ 7:19am
Maddie, what error?
Maddiedoggie 7 Oct @ 7:14am
Hey, I get an error whenever I try to drink anything that isn't water.
Black_moons  [author] 4 Oct @ 8:50pm
@Veloquix Yes.
Veloquix 4 Oct @ 4:28pm
Would this be compatible with the new Vanilla food expansion that just came out on the workshop?
Slav3106 27 Sep @ 8:16am
Thank you for the update Black_moons.
Black_moons  [author] 19 Sep @ 9:15pm
@Internal: Try now, there was a few changes made. Also the boredom sandbox settings should work better now.
gmodlover911 19 Sep @ 7:51pm
@Black_moons sorry for the late response, it's just regular food not evo
Black_moons  [author] 18 Sep @ 8:07pm
New version is out that should fix that issue @Kaleyn
Kaleyn 17 Sep @ 5:12pm
@Black_moons thanks for the quick answer and the next patch ! :D
Black_moons  [author] 17 Sep @ 4:26pm
@Kaleyn Unintended. been meaning to upload the fix to that lol.
Kaleyn 17 Sep @ 1:45pm
Hi @Black_moons =)
Let me start by saying thanks you for your mod ! :D I really like it and I think it adds a good new balance to the game =)
Now a question, is it intended that you can make :

1 large scrambled egg (360kal)
from
6 hunger unit (out of 7) from a single (80kcal) chicken egg ?

Is it maybe a bug ? :D Or is the recipe intending to use 6 eggs instead of 6/7 or just one ?
Thanks you for all your work and passion, I wish you a great day ! :D
Black_moons  [author] 16 Sep @ 1:03pm
@infernal It should already compensate for eating 1/4 instead of full amounts as well as stopping eating part way, though IIRC it does consider eating ingredients straight as weighted by hunger restoration.

Are you eating items or cooking evolved recipes when this occurs?
gmodlover911 14 Sep @ 4:26pm
like if you keep eating 1/4 instead of all they get bored
gmodlover911 14 Sep @ 4:26pm
can you fix the bug where character gets bored after eating / drinking 1/4 of an item
Rachel L 14 Sep @ 1:12pm
Yes
nononon 14 Sep @ 1:11pm
Does this mod also do the same thing as this mod https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3419744607&searchtext=calories It hasn't been updated for a while and has a few issues like mountains of chicken nuggets and infinite mac'n cheese
Slav3106 14 Sep @ 4:02am
Black_moons thank you.
Cyrisa 13 Sep @ 1:31pm
TY Rachel
Rachel L 13 Sep @ 3:17am
No problems with saph. I use both
Cyrisa 13 Sep @ 1:01am
Any issues with Sapph's Cooking? Its another big mod that has been around awhile.

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3409143790
Black_moons  [author] 12 Sep @ 1:15pm
@Slav3106: That is them complaining about the recipe. Just vary the recipe a bit more and they won't complain about it.

Also, what recipe you pick (soup, stew, stirfry, etc) factors into the boredom of the meal, but only as a scaler of the ingredients. So if you vary the recipe up a bit you'll get less boredom from stuff your really bored of.

if your not getting bored of the ingredients, you can safely ignore it.
Slav3106 12 Sep @ 10:39am
Black_moons I love the mod. Thank you. Is there any chance that you could have a look at one small thing: The character comments on what he/she its which is ok but I believe it needs a little tweak: it's ok when comments: "I haven't had a bolognese for a while" or "I'm gonna scream if I have beans again" but I would remove comments about "stew", "soup" or "stock". Even though the character eats a completely different stew(and throws 2 positive comments) there's still a comment about the stew. If it's a different stew he should not complain(or have that part counted separately and slower). Just a suggestion as this is not really game breaking (and there are already some good sandbox options).
Black_moons  [author] 10 Sep @ 5:49pm
Made a discord for my mods, feel free to join [discord.gg] to give suggestions, bug reports, or just talk about the mods/stream your game.
Black_moons  [author] 2 Sep @ 1:33pm
@Zushen: The changes should work fine with any evolved recipes (Stews, stirfrys, etc, things you make via adding ingredients one at a time). Non evolved recipes (crafting menu) might be a little off in the resulting calories for a cooked item (in that input != output), but will otherwise all work fine
Zushen 2 Sep @ 10:13am
How do these balance changes work with added recipes? I mainly play with Chef + Boiled Eggs for cooking mods right now.
Black_moons  [author] 1 Sep @ 12:12am
@Constantine: No issues at all! I don't touch the HalveFillet recipe and all changes my mod makes to fishing can be turned off in the sandbox options :) It actually just reduces the size/calorie count of fish you catch.

I am aware HalveFillet is bugged in Vanilla code but I never got around to changing it.
Constantine 31 Aug @ 10:31pm
Would this have any compatibility issues with the caster fishing mod? From their page, I saw "This mod will conflict with any mod that touches the "HalveFillet" recipe similar to this one."
OxTailSafu 17 Aug @ 6:56pm
Such a great mod! For anyone experiencing issues with calories then this adds some much needed variety versus simply stuffing your face with butter. I also appreciate the changes to boredom too that helps encourage you using different ingredients.
Black_moons  [author] 15 Aug @ 2:59pm
@Rachel L Bug is now fixed and new version is released.
Black_moons  [author] 15 Aug @ 12:36am
Thank you for the bug report. Iv found the bug, fixed it and will release a new version shortly!
