you can use the easy bonemerge tool from the workshop to bonemerge c_hands to the c_model of the smg1 in the folder for gmod and you can see the positioning of the arms

the right arm appears to just be in the wrong place it's under and behind the left arm

The right hand doesn't show because you don't have the "$mirrorvm" "1" flag in the smg's .vmt that some source viewmodels require sometimes (and sometimes don't, I have no idea why)

i wanted to port this for so long, but i couldnt for the life of me understand how view models worked
