Finally on GMod, with a bit of shoddy porting to say the least.

the folder in the spawnmenu not outside of the game

you can use the easy bonemerge tool from the workshop to bonemerge c_hands to the c_model of the smg1 in the folder for gmod and you can see the positioning of the arms

the right arm appears to just be in the wrong place it's under and behind the left arm

The right hand doesn't show because you don't have the "$mirrorvm" "1" flag in the smg's .vmt that some source viewmodels require sometimes (and sometimes don't, I have no idea why)
