i mean.. ppl can technically go update the original mod too, all thats broken with it is mentioned above, which does take some time to do manually, but isn't hard.

You could keep the bags and just make them basic as hell, like have them all have the same stats and what not so that way they're there for style. And if people want them to be different it wouldn't be that hard to do yourself (Using Rimmsqol to diy "fix" them for example)

Well, I think it needs to be between the flak vest/jacket/helmet and the recon armor, if you are thinking about balancing like the base game you will need to nerf some equipment that comes close to the marine armor, some equipment data is available on the wiki, but I believe that most already have a good balance for a game with limited technology for industrial, it just needs a balance in the recipe.

just wondering if anyone with much more experience knows how to properly balance gear? I play rimworld for style, not for "oh this armor is better than XYZ". please lmk what proper stats would be.

Yup they don’t. But thats also fixed in rewrite. Honestly the old xml was very lazy done. Just parent for stats. I’ll probably do somewhat the same for crafting recipes & stats. (There will be different recipes depending on the armor value irl. So the big vests wont have stats & crafting recipe from a light carrier webbing.)

The old one you can't sell these itens to others factions, i think they don't have the trade tags
