I remember you can take items when leaving the settlement by reform caravan.

It looks like this mod more or less does the same things as this one! I think it's vehicle framework compatible, but it might be a little more performance heavy as he mentioned.

question about Vanilla Base Generation Expanded not working
i have alway installed every VE mod yeh i know im crazy for it and used this mod for a long time and never have notice any issues with VBGE what exactly is the issue with these to mods? should i be concerned lol

I just can't visit another settlements, no matter what I do, there is just no option to do it (Mods + Odyssey)

Gotcha, a strange spiral of bugs lol. Vehicles in general need tons of bugfixes for new interactions every major update, glad you are trying things on your end! hopefully framework devs get to it eventually.

Leaving the map open after you leave is a huge performance cost. That's a whole other map being simulated while you're playing! Holy cow! Entering and leaving the map WITHOUT vehicle framework works fine anyway.

The SPECIFIC issue with compatibility is Vehicle Framework checking for a lead vehicle in the vehicle caravan when entering a map, saying there isn't one when there is. I managed a small patch that "ignored" that check. It allowed entering and leaving a settlement with a vehicle just fine, but obviously that sort of solution spiraled into more errors.

I wrote another check for both regular caravan entry AND vehicle caravan entry, so map entry would load based on which it was using. The same lead vehicle bug occurred.

Vehicle Framework's making lots of bug fixes! I think they'll worry about compatibility stuff later. Nice suggestion! Thank you!

Just thought-balling, i could be 100% wrong, but could the incompatibility with vehicle framework be due to how entering and leaving map tiles was changed with the 1.6 core update? I think mainly for grav ship launching mechanics destroying the tile unless planting a grav anchor.

Would doing something like applying code from anchors or something along the lines that forces the map to remain after leaving? I think vehicle framework isnt reacting properly with 1.6 mechanics, thinking you are leaving in a manned vehicle being akin to launching a grav ship, destroying the tile you are leaving from.

it would be mindblowingly good if it could be possible to use blueprints from Real Ruins – bases made by real players. and maybe RimQuest – to get quest from those who live there.

@Guineatown20806 Regular Caravan is fine. 1.6 you can enter with vehicles but you can't leave and the settlement will be "destroyed". There's a vehicle framework update coming this weekend, so hopefully it will fix by then.

If I don't visit a settlement with a vehicle, just by Caravan does it still break? I remeber having the know issue on 1.5 as well. It deleted the animals of the Caravan when reforming ad also the vehicle when entering the settlement.

@Solo Extreme It's best to start on a fresh save with most mod updates, especially from one version to another.

Using a passenger shuttle from Odyssey seems to cause the same bug as you mentioned with Vehicle Framework, hopefully that helps narrow down the cause. Thanks for the good work :)

The vehicle framework incomaptibility is probably on their end. Got a map error some time ago when trying to caravan into a tile with a ruin with a vehicle. The game freaks out if it can't fit the vehicle in the exact middle of the map (the pawns fit, the vehicle didn't). So don't bother looking for the error on your end, there probably isn't one.
