The problem comes down to an animal having equipment. I tested Mech Dragon and Pawn Rules, none of which made the animals undraftable. If you had an older version, the mod was originally giving animals equipment, but that's been since removed. My recommendation is to use the dev tools to destroy the animal that's not working, spawn in a new one and tame it with the command. In my clean environment, I'm not able to reproduce any of these bugs anymore.

This mod seems incompatible with Pawn Rules. When Pawn Rules is enabled and an animal is drafted, all the icons disappear. When check the "Do not use for animals" option for Pawn Rules, all the icons come back.

@Battle Fennec @Aleksey I'm using the mod with the Mecha Dragons and I'm having the same issue with them being undraftable. Did you find a fix with it or what mod might be the issue?

I'm seeing errors from EnableOversizedWeapons and some other things, and in your screenshot I'm seeing "Force hunting". If the animal is given a weapon or equipment, that could cause branches of logic to run in the base game, that should never run for animals, causing errors. Having that said, I'm not really seeing any errors with gizmos nor gear tabs. Those are the two things I encountered when fixing the issue initially. There's a transpiler patch being applied from MVCF for Dual Wield like you mentioned, and that's erroring. I do only see it once though, and typically an error that would remove the gizmos or prevent you from undrafting would be on every tick. You'd usually see something like "suppressed other errors, see Ref for original."

So, try disabling EnableOversizedWeapons, MVCF Dual Wield, and whatever mod is giving the hunting gizmo. Do those one by one to see if the errors go away.

I just tested with the Zombie Joris, and had no issues undrafting it. The gizmo stays there and I get no errors. I sounds like a mod conflict. Do you have anything that gives animals equipment or modifies animals in any way?

Since I need to view these on a case-by-case basis, please let me know what mod the animal comes from, so I can debug it with that animal specifically. I'm not completely versed with what's in the base game, so if not from a mod, mention that it's from the base game.

Somehow I can't undraft the Zombie joris after i've drafted it for a manual killing :(. Pressing R does nothing and HUD button for draft is gone.

I can't un-draft them. also when I drafted a Mamoth it mader the war trumpet ability dissapear and now i cant undraft it to go into a sleeping spot for it to heal.

Just a random idea/suggestion if you wouldn't mind, is it possible to add an option to make animals only draftable when you've use sentience catalyst on it? :steamhappy:

I think it might be because it was working fine when I tested last. I even had a drafted fox on the map that was broken. It was fixed after I made the fix for this issue. If you can pinpoint the conflict, I can install that mod and make a patch for it.

Is it specifically with the Mech Dragon or some other animal and you're just getting the same error as it was with the Mech Dragon? If it's some other animal, please provide a link to the mod and the name of the animal.

No worries! Maybe Steam downloaded the wrong version at first. That can happen, especially if you're using RimSort.

It didn't work at first after reloading the mod (the options to use abilities/equipment for the mech dragons). But just now after I installed a few more mods the options appear. It was weird. lol. But thank you!

@Battle Fennec I confirmed the error with the Mecha Dragon. The problem stems from animal pawns not having equipment. There are lots of checks for equipment while drafted, so there are many points of potential failure. I patched the issue with these dragons, but it might still occur with other pawn kinds. Let me know how that works for you.

So I've been having the same issue as Lord Bosco and Pupper.exe

And I have a ton of mods... but I found out which one conflicted with the drafting issue.

Androids for RimWorld 1.6
Disabling it allowed me to undraft the Mecha Dragons I have for the mod.

You might have a mod that is conflicting with Drafted Animals if you can't undraft them.

Can't undraft an animal. Animals lose all action controls when drafted.

You can force updates with RimSort to make it quicker. It usually downloads the right version, lol.

Tho in my case I'm not in any kind of hurry, draftable animals just make it easier for me to test the animal implants mod I'm working on :catsack:

Same issue as MrKociak, animals lose all abilities after undrafting them now.

M'kay, this might just be an issue on my end, but:
Upon drafting an animal and undrafting it, further attempts to draft it again cause all of its gizmos [including one for directing it to melee attack] disappear and cause an error.
I've tested it will all mods, besides this one, disabled. All DLCs were active tho.

So a way to try and recreate the issue would be to train an animal to attack and draft > undraft > draft.

Nice mod so far, one bug I found is that it seems the "gear" tab disappears. At least it disappears for my horses even when not drafted if I enable the option that drafting doesn't require training.

I was intending to order the horses to go to the place where their loot can be taken off then make them drop it on the ground and return to their stables. Is it a known bug and would it be an easy fix?
