yeah - i'll add it to the tooltip! ty for playing with it, i'll get back to you if i find an answer on the city states & legacy points!
zamboni 23 Sep @ 1:05pm
maybe it was overbuilding. Most buildings only take half a tile, though, right? The railway station is an exception, but a rare one.

If the intention of the rolling cart is to take up the space that would normally fit two buildings, I suggest adding that to the description so there's no confusion. I'd also beef it up so it's worth 2 building slots.

Thanks again for the mod!

da vinci has no effect on city states or legacy points, so there's no reason this bug would be caused by da vinci, and it's not one i've ever experienced or seen reported before... i'll keep an eye out though.

as for the rolling cart: it's a building and should always take a whole tile. when you're placing it with another building, are you sure you aren't overbuilding?

On a slightly different note: the rolling cart improvement seems a bit buggy; rarely it can be placed with another improvement, but most of the time it takes up an entire hex. Not sure if this is intentional.

Hi! I really enjoyed playing da vinci through the first two eras, but when I started the modern era, a couple of weird things happened:
1) all the city states disappeared; and
2) i had an alliance that i didn't have pre-era.

Also, even though I finished the science progression in the middle era, I didn't have any science legacy points to spend.

I'm not entirely sure that this is due to Da Vinci, but I didn't encounter any of these issues before I added this mod (and played as Da Vinci).

(more to come, too many characters!)

good call: i've updated ornithopter movement in the latest patch. it now ignores all terrain and embarkation costs, but has a slightly reduced base movement speed.
originally the hope was for it to occasionally get long stretches of open terrain which it could zoom down which could feel quite satisfying, but i dont think it really ends up happening with the terrain gen.

Fantastic leader, however the Ornithopter loses movement due to terrain. I would think a flying machine wouldn't immediately be out of moves when flying over a forest.

Hi! Can confirm it works now!
mattwho  [author] 25 Aug @ 8:43am
latest update has fixed the leader model!
mattwho  [author] 22 Aug @ 2:59am
yep! sorry, this is a known issue caused by 1.2.4's updates to UI. i'm still trying to figure out with izica how to make the model replacement work post-update, and will be releasing an update that fixes this asap.
until then: this bug doesn't affect gameplay, and the mods should otherwise be compatible with 1.2.4, so you should be able to continue any ongoing games.
sorry about that! and thanks for trying some troubleshooting before reporting, and for your patience. you've probably noticed 1.2.4 has been a tough update on us modders lol
AmoreAmar 21 Aug @ 11:56am
Hello, I really enjoy Matt's Leaders, espeically Leonardo! Recently, (after this 1.2.4 update) I have been getting issues with the 3d model not loading on the game setup screen or in game- instead Benjamin Franklin just stands there with Big white letters in caps- FPO. This is the same for all other Matt's leaders. Civ themselves seem to work fine, it is the leaders not showing up 3d. the 2d image of them in the loading screen works tho or icon to select them in them game setup, once you selct it the 3d model just becomes FPO benjamin franklin for all.

Things I have done:
Disabled all my mods, and only kept matts civ- doesnt work.
Ensured that the model changer is updated- doesnt work.
Verified game files- doesn't work.
Reinstalled- Doesnt work.

I dont think there is a mod mismatch- as i ran it on vanilla with just leonardo and the model changer, and it says FPO.

If you have any suggestion, let me know please!

no, it's available on the workshop and is a requirement for all my leader mods.
this will be what was causing all your issues. sorry if it wasn't clear enough: the mods should be linked on steam.
get it here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3506937618

I don't have Izica's Leader Model Changer - is that only available through CivMods?
mattwho  [author] 24 Jul @ 1:37pm
game-affecting mods like new leaders aren't compatible with save games that don't use the mod.
only reason you wouldn't be able to enable/disable mods is if there are dependencies. do you have izica's leader model changer?
are you sure there isn't another mod you have forgotten to re-install that could be preventing loading an old save? even if it doesnt tell you which you're missing, when viewing the save game in the 'load game' menu, it should give you a list of additional content you had enabled. comb through that.
Adam 24 Jul @ 12:52pm
I have issues installing any of your leaders (though your civs work fine). If I install a leader though, suddenly I can't enable/disable any other mods, if I save a modded game I can no longer load it, but the material does seem to show up in game correctly when I'm playing it - it's just the save that is corrupted. When loading the save, it tells me that I'm missing mods, though doesn't specify which ones.
mattwho  [author] 17 Jul @ 5:31am
the da vinci civics vary by age! the things you unlock are based on da vinci's inventions, but have stats that fit the era you're in.
they stretch plausibility in places, but all leader abilities do (in what sense did isabella make natural wonders better?) - and for example a steam cannon was also designed by archimedes!
one day maybe i'll give the units aesthetics more appropriate for the era, but for now we can only use existing models from the game, so the only option is to use the exploration age models as-is for the prototype units.
OxiOx 17 Jul @ 4:19am
A really great mod, but the fact that we can do the "leonardo da vinci civics" in the antiquity isn't realistic or fun.
jmiller1031 28 Jun @ 8:28am
It makes Civ VII feel like Civ again!!!!

Thank You
TheDanMan051 25 Jun @ 4:39pm
Fixed the problem, the issue was the mod that reassigns favored civs for leaders-- that was trying to reference the Himiko and Ashoka personas that I don't have.
mattwho  [author] 25 Jun @ 1:21am
hi! noone else has had this issue. the mementos cause foreign key reports to appear in the database log, but these do not prevent the game from starting.
what other mods are you running, and what other errors are appearing in the database log?
TheDanMan051 24 Jun @ 8:00pm
Your leader mods, while neat in concept, render it impossible to start/load games and cause a foreign key constraint failure to be displayed in the database log.
