UPDATE :

- i reworked the all of the rear of the ship
- i added more thrusters
- i reworked almost the entier inside layout including the bridge
( reworking the bridge alowed me to increase the walls from 0,75m to a minimum of 2,5m)
- i improved the outise look and added detailes here and there
- i moved the side thrusters to avoid future block damages
- i moved correctly the gravity generators to avoid 2.0G gravity
- i increased the size of the main hangar and the fighter storage
- i increased the both of the storages and the future hydrigen storage
- i added more turrets

i will improve the outside detailes and make some "importante" interior before publishing it as V3 , than ill go all in to try to finish it and adding doors , light , ... so V4 will be over 400K pcu .

UPDATE :

- i reworked the entier fighter storage to make it more protected from projectile and to move the ship printer but there is a lot that i still need to improve in it ,so i also moved it to the ship storage but .

- i moved the captain quarters and 1 officer quarters from levell -1 to the brigde

- i mainly reworked a lot of the exterior to ressemble the concept as best as i could so i ad to increase the lenght of the ship by 70meters so now in totall its is 645meters long , i think the 575meters is the one in game and not the concept , and the concept look a lot longer so ill switch to only recreate the concept and not the one we got in game .

-i added some small room here and there and improve layout of some levells but nothing major.



i still need to rework the back of the ship then ill focus on finishing the interior and adding as much detail as possible .

@Rikkutoa1 , thank you , when i played se1 for the first time it was when it was release on xbox , so there were still a good amount of blocks to play with , but compare to se2 even with the block we have its so much better , imagine what people will do when we get every blocks , plus the mod tool is so better .
its going to be incredible ones everything get in place and se1 player come to se2

i remeber back in SE1 someone made an 1:1 of the USG from DEADSPACE and also even older they did 1:1 of the starship trooper ship way before that had anything was just blocks at the time

@Zach Jepson , yes but the problem is to make a proper space ship layout that make sense and is easy to learn and navigate , then decorate it properly .
my first attempte at it was terrible .

Halo 4 kinda gave the forward unto dawn a stridentish redesign, could use the interiors from halo 4 as inspiration for the interiors of your ship :)

i improved the cpu count by a good 15k but i removed a lot of thing so it will still increase over time .

i improved the layout of the levell -4 ( fighter hangar ) and added an elevator from it to the crew quarters that also passe buy levell - 3 ( engineering) .

i reworked some maintenance tunnels of levell -1 and -2 and i will probalby had the same design to levell -4 .

NOTE : the hanges listed above are not updated to the workshop because theyre moslty layout and nothing realy game changing . like always if anyone have ideas or sugections please let me know .

UPDATE : i used an older save that didnt had the bug to continue working on the ship how ever id does still appear from time to time , the bug is trigured when copy pasting on large grids .

i improve the wings design slitly but didnt realy change anything else from the outside
i complitly cahnged the layout of levell 0 (civilian quaters turned into turrets controles ) but am not happy with it so i will change it in the future .

i complitaly changed the layout of the cargo / mining ship hangar so that the hangars goes like the overs from side to side of the ship instead of going unter it , but am not realy satifyed with it so it will probaly change and because i didnt know how to connect everything i added a fake elevator from gound vehicule hangar to planetary observation that passe by cargo : mining ship hangar but its like a lot of the ship subject to change .

because of the new cargo / minig dhip hangar layout i could increase the ground vehicule hangar by a good 12,5m by 10m .

i have tested and if i upload the updated version of the ship because of the bug it wont let anyone to place it , it will just say workshop error so i need to wait for it to be fix or to keen give us control commands to repare every blocks , or i place the last version of the ship that didnt had it and hope i dont get it anymore .

@Rikkutoa1 thank you , but sadly i wont update for some time , theree is a new bug that after some time make some block appear damaged , and the more the time passe the more block are damaged , for comparaison half of the ship looks destroyed and the only way currently to repaire them is to replace them .
it woulnd be a probleme if uploading to the workshop would not save the damaged blocks as damaged .
ill try to find a solution to it or at least a work around but until then i probably wont upload the updates .

NOTE :
am not currently working much on the ship because of the heat and am waiting for new blocks .
how ever in the time being im planing what i can change and improve as layout and decoration .
for exemple removing the entier civilian levell to replace it for ship defence control , because theyre will be a good 30 turrets no counting rail guns and missiles .

UPDATE :

i increased the main hangar size and the ground vehicule hangar elevator to main hangar by adount 30% each .

i moved the reffinery to the assemblers room and modified the room to controle the small fighter printer .

i improved some maintenance tunnels and finished some hallways .

i added some small color detaile outside and modified some part of the outside structure here and there .

i modified some of the layout of levell -2 and -3 to reduce unneccesary place and connect some levells together .

i updated the pictures to match the current state of the project .


once again if anyone have an idea of thing to had or even to modifie let me know .

UNSCfighter seen the potential of se2 and how "easy" it is to mod it for modders i have no dought the game will have a lot more players and mods , but we need modding firts , until then theyre is a someone who as made realy good turrets but they are not halo lore accurate and pcu heavy , here is the link :

Im at 130k pcu with my paris frigate so far. Im probably close to 50% done now id say. Working on the bridge/cic area now before i finish the mid section and start working on the rear of it. Itd be cool if later down the line we got modded parts for these ships, things like turrets, thrusters, etc

@Noble_Six its actualy a good idea but for now the ship is like 342k out of 400k and most of the pcu hungry blocks are already in the ship , so when ill finish the interior ill probably have around 20k left and by then they could have added block that i could use to replace the fake ones i put to improve pcu or even increased the pcu count , but ill think about it when ill get to the max pcu , thank you for the idea

Not sure if this helps, but there is a mod that lifts the pcu limit by a lot, maybe for the time being this mod can help you use those 1x1x2 slopes and other things? Maybe you can make a copy submission using the mod so you can further progress while this one stays as is for those who cannot or dont feel comfortable running increased pcu count yet? Just floating an idea lol

UPDATE : i removed a good amount of maintenance tunnels because they have no real use and are a probleme for the security .
i improved some of the outside but i cant realy improve more the inside because we need 1X1X2 slops of all angles , if i had those i could make the ship look a lot better (could use small blocks but would use to much pcu ).
i finished the inside decorations of the med bay , cantine , 1 maintenance tunnels .
i improved the overall layout of levell -2 and of the planetary body research room .

i had a super carrier in SE1 i built every time i played survival made it fun to go find the 100m ore need just in iron ore to build the hull or pirating ships for plates and parts

@Iron0Fox honestly i dont know , because of the size of it and the fact that there is still a lot of blocks missing the ship will fully be finish in a long time , but i had a prodject of maybe doing an Aegis Idris from star citizen , but i realy cant say .
am mostly doing this one because its my future survival ship .

Love the look of it, and i have always been a fan of the halo games and lore, but more importantly ive been in love with the ships.

will you be doing any other ships, or vehicles when your done with this?

UPDATE : i improved the outside look of the ship to match more the concept of the strident and currently reworking the intier levell -1 (crew quarter , living space ) to have a more realistic and overall better layout .
i added on the very buttom of the ship a room like in the infinity for scientist for planetary body research .
i will improve the layout of levell -4 and -5 and eventually rework the bridge .

IMPORTANTE : because of the grid replacing bug you wont have the changes updated to the ship until the bug is fixed .

dam , if you really doing the full interior its going to be one hell of a ship .
for the difficult angles you can juste do them using small block like i did for some angle on the strident ,or maybe wait for mods that ad those blocks .
cant wait to see your paris fully build and ready to rock but you will probably have to modifie the interior to make it survival ready like adding a ship printer or even hydrogen generators .

(2/2) Its a very slow process especially since im sort of a perfectionist when it comes to things like this, i want everything to be as close as it can to what im trying to make. It’s also very slow work because when you have to figure out how to make some crazy angle or slope with the current limited blocks we have is rather difficult. Add onto those issues with the symmetry mode turning off constantly and having to redo progress repeatedly, it’s very mind numbing. I do rather enjoy it though, it’s fun being able to finally be able to make a version of this that could be fully functional, without having to learn how to mod halo to do so.

(1/2) Thanks for the response! Working with pictures is interesting, be careful because there can be some discrepancies between them. I avoided the ratio thing by working with a 3d model, thankfully i had a 3d model of the paris frigate that i had made a while ago since its one of my favorite halo vehicles. Its 99% 1:1 scale with the ingame model from reach. I have it scaled to the 535 meter size in blender so when im working on it in se2 i don’t have to worry about making something too small or too large. I’ve spent about 22 hours working on it so far and id say im about 30% done with the exterior.

hi @UNSCfighter , the way i do it is to look on the internet for the real 1:1 scale , than i make like a cage of that size .
after that i get different pictures with different angles of it , when i have all the pictures i need i put than full screen and is use a ruler to figure out what ratio do i need to use to see exacly what is the distance bewteen this and this .
for exemple if a ship is in game 130meters long and in my screen it is like 70cm than i do 130 divided by 70 = 1,85 so i know that if like an engine is 10cm in my screen than it is 18,5 meters in game but from image to image the ratio can change so be carefulle of that .
but when i make a ship i dont sculte it from a block , i make it hollow .
for reference the full outside of the ship as it is now took me like 25 to 40 hours .
but the way you are doing it is good , its time consuming because of the size and the shapes .
i fact the way i do it is probably a lot slower than yours .

This is really cool! I've was making a 1:1 paris frigate and am about 40k pcu into it. I was wondering, did you initially cut the main shapes out of a massive block of armor that was the correct size? The way I've been doing it is that I have a version of the ship in blender and i measure the length of some part of the ship and then try and match that measurement in se2 as close as I can. Its rather time consuming, so I was just wondering if this might be a faster way at making something this large.

NOTE= juste add an idee to ad 3 hangar in the main hangar , so you could store more fighters and to retrieve than the floor will open and your ship rise up , but ill have to wait for pistons to do that.

This looks so sick dude I am blown away! Se2 is getting to the point where ship exteriors look like they are not made out of blocks anymore and it is beautiful.
