For those wanting to try it, do so at your own risk, because it's VERY buggy and does not seem to be actively maintained like the description claims. The new light control system is also pretty broken, nerfs ceiling lights and might not be able to keep the lights on even when it powers the rest of your base.

If you do want to try it and want to know how to do so, the new generator is just the security terminal which has been reworked into being able to power an entire base (not player-made ones). You can find it in many larger police stations, prisons, research facilities, etc.

Don’t place it on an outer wall, because then it just causes errors and doesn't work (not sure if this only applies to bunkers). Also, according to one comment I read, you can't have a regular generator in too close proximity because they cause some interference with each other. It didn’t fix my problems, but could still be good to keep in mind.

I loved this mod the first time I tried it and had only a few relatively minor issues.
The second time it was completely broken and caused too much trouble to feel worth it, mostly with the light switches and how they work - or rather, how they don't.
I gave up when I thought I had finally gotten it to work again, only for it to be unable to keep the lights turned on for more than a few seconds, even though it had more than enough fuel, and the same being the case for the other two I had also installed. All had the same issue.

I really hope this mod gets updated eventually to fix the problems, because it was perfect for my bunker life playthrough and I was really looking forward to doing more such playthroughs.

I’m having an issue with the mod. When I use it, the light switch shows as “off,” but the nearest light bulb is actually on. If I turn the switch “on,” it turns that light bulb off instead. On top of that, none of the other light bulbs in any building work at all.

Wanna say if it hasn't already been pointed out that this seems (as of now) to break TV's - they won't power (flicks on for a second then turns off) connecting the building to a Vanilla generator and the TV's work again.

the generator seems to glitch when i leave my base, turning off but the menu still says its on
I havent turned on that motion sensor either, unless it does it automatically

For those who complain they cant place light switches after crafting them ->
The mod tooltips are bugged, to place a lightswitch, you also need a Wrench and a Hammer in your main inventory (not sure if it picks up from backpack, its a bit weird)

When I had those in my inv, I could place crafted lightswitches

@Telepathetic The mod description states this mod adds a new type of generator.. Have you not been able to find one mid save? Then you'd need to go into an area you haven't generated yet.

If you want to make regular generators last long all you need to do is make it so one of the 4 generators in game has a lower fuel consumption but only have it for one of the generators.

This mod can really use some Sandbox Settings to toggle features people may want disabled, cause the main idea is great, but not giving the player a choice is, questionable at best.

Hey @Blackstorm I'm using your mod to be able to use the light switches. I noticed that the mod changes the way the switches work, namely the red button on the light switch should be lit when the light in the room is off, but the mod does the opposite.

I don't like the lighting, at all. It leaves big rooms dark in the corners furthest from the switch.

Any chance we could get a "lite" version with just the generator options?

This mod causes all light switches to basically operate as lamps. They only light the area directly near them and they have light bulbs which will burn out over time and have to be replaced. This is a really huge pain on long term games or if you plan on basing somewhere with big rooms like a warehouse or a fire station since it replaces the lighting these buildings would normally have. I hope the mod creator addresses this, there are some really cool additions here but it's too much a pain to be worth it in my opinion.

So no idea what the issue is, but this mod will not power fridges or freezers. I almost lost all of my fresh food due to it only powering on the lights. Great.

Great idea, be careful there is a conflict with Generator Time Remaining that creates a massive lag spikes when near hordes, dunno how or why but that's what i experienced

This mod is great for enhancing the vanilla generators, Picked up a custom terminal generator at muldragh PD to place in my house and the game started to give me "lag spikes" right away all the time. Might be mod conflicts with generator time remaining or generator radius or another mod. Error checker gave me no red message when the spikes started. The gen worked fine for me, remember to place it indoors in a preexisting building.

So basically this mod add the security terminal as generator ? I suppose you need to find one to have all the features inside the mod or it can be used on actual generators on B42 ?

This mod is not worth turning on. I played with it in my ground-built home. And seems like it wasn't created for that.

- With that mod your initial lighting is f#cked up (it lights incorrectly in existing houses). But electricity still turn off so, it isn't that critical

- Even though you can take switches "what also is a light source" it cannot be placed to tiles you want to light on.

- Security terminal even filled up, and placed inside of a house does not turn on in any circumstances

- You cannot place motion sensor in any light (with electronic scrap you can place it, but its not doing anything), making this mod useless.



To be fair, mod is very new. Maybe those bugs will be fixed someday.

I should clarify that the studdering was always accompanying new game states (Actively fighting a horde for example, loading new chunks, loading sectors of new area and the studders happens semi-rarely, enough to live with if you still want to play with the mod)

So it just breaks all the lights in the game and now i have to use a flash light everywhere even though the power grid is still on.
