To be honest, I don't know. Our main dev is taking a break from modding, he don't know if he will be back.
Eugen updates keep f***ing the mod up.
On my very limited free time I'm trying to learn WARNO modding but it's rough :vsskull:

Since yesterday was the Southag release, and it might I've changed some aspect of the game, it might mess around with the mod. We are working on it

k so i tried unsub then resub and now it says the save was on an older version and that the mod is outdated but it also wants to download the mod, so i go to an older version then it has me redownload the mod, but then it has to restart to load the mod which then puts me back on the current version and it just becomes an endless loop

@Blackbear You will find most of the new units for W. Germany from the new update in AG. Still working on adding the new units from US, UK, and USSR to the campaigns. So its kind of a blend at the moment.

Hi, amazing mod guys firstly!

Just wanted to ask about AG, have the units been swapped to the brand new ones added with the mod (Leo 2a5, Chally 2 etc)? Or is it an Army General Enhanced type deal where the battalion compositions have been altered?

@Arxinvicta, in the context of a Panzergrendaier battalion, that had battalion mortars, directing said mortars would be a primary role, along with directing fires from the divisional Artillery regiment. You need to understand, if we are pulling some models together, using parts of others, we are going to be limited between our skill level and what’s available. Trying to claim realism in a Warno mod is something we specifically are avoiding. Just something to keep in mind. Not barking at you, just trying to make that clear for the future.

You will see more artillery FO vehicles. This is purely a gameplay choice. Vehicles are less stealthy, and more easily splittable. We didn’t want to make Off Map capable units extremely stealthy for the reason of balance.

I am aware that this mod is not supposed to be historically accurate and it is your mod, so you can do with it whatever you want.

The reason why I wrote it is that you went through the extra effort of making a model even though in "real life" the job of a artillery recon for mortars would've been given to a regular Marder, Wiesel or even some Jäger infantry in an Iltis, which would've not required any model work from your side.

But again, your mod, you are the boss, just wanted to help in case that was a mistake. Thank you for the mod and sorry for the caused trouble.

@arxinvicta. Did you read the big blue text in the mod description in the workshop at all? We are not a realism mod. The model of the beopanzer is a kitbash. There are no 3D models that exist of this item that are publicly available.

The model ingame is the M113 ABRA, or technically since it's 1995 in the mod, it's the RATAC-S version. This vehicle is used as part of a "Panzerartilleriebataillon" (armoured artillery battalion) which does not have mortars.

Mortars in the Bundeswehr (Heeresstruktur V (N), since, as I said, 1995 in the mod) are an integrated part of individual infantry battailon, more specifically as part of a "schwere Kompanie" (heavy company). They use their own equipment for recon, Panzergrenadiere use the Marder, Fallschirmjäger the Wiesel etc. they do not use dedicated artillery observers.

Best example I can give is the Panzerartilleriebataillon 115, they got the ABRA in 1981. They had four batteries (initially three), all FH105 (L), later M 109 G - and much later Panzerhaubitze 2000. No mortars.

So yes, having the ABRA/RATAC-S in the mod in 1995 makes perfect sense but not a single of those ever coordinated fire for a mortar company.

Isn't it kinda weird that the M113 ABRA (called Beopanzer in the mod I think) serves as a artillery observer for...mortars? Armoured FO for mortars seems a bit...overkill. :D

Very interesting mod and I'd love to keep using it but the 1.5x range scaling is too much. It eliminates any usefulness for helicopters and any form of aerial recon as they're now being shot down from outside of visual range. Also the added armor units keep turning sideways for no reason and won't reorient themselves during a fight, so they just die.

@xxHITMANxx JR the campaigns don’t have like the M1A2 or Object 640 added to them, but the campaign units are heavily modified in Bruderkrieg, Fulda, Airborne Assault and Highway 66. As of now these units lean more historical than the MP decks
