Rosa, thanks for your participation. :)

I think this mod fundamentally mischaracterizes what it does. As per the discussion thread, none of the "historical characters" in this mod, including the three preview images, actually existed. They're on a similar level of historicity as the game's own randomly generated NPCs. However, unlike the game's made-up NPCs, these are generated by a more sophisticated LLM and have (AI-generated) written bios. This is what the mod should be sold on, not a "historicity" it doesn't have.

As an aside, don't patronize people with "you have a problem with AI? Then you have a problem" when you clearly don't actually understand the mod you made with it.

Got a character called Waldrada Cantatrix today which as per the historical character description should be a female, but the character was male.

Cool! :) Looks really good.

Updated to 1.16

I would hate it if the mod died :( it's such a fun mod, it's never gonna be historically accuare, because NPC themself will do random things(Benedictus became the pop).

Also the flavor of who it was is so fun, who bothers what the game NPC is doin when u can find em doing random things and get some history lessions 10/10

Yo mods like this need support we NEED more historical characters please dont let the complainers throw you off.
SID 20 May @ 9:12pm
@IISpiceII afaik all achievements are possible with mods and outside of ironman
Darknight36 4 May @ 6:06pm
Love the mod, though I noticed some characters that's supposed to be female is generated as a male character. And in most cases nearly all Sunni Muslim characters are Maturidi, even when they shouldnt historically, i.e berbers are almost if not all Asharis (due to either being of the Maliki or Shafi'i jurisprudence), the same can be said with most bedouin and egyptian characters as well

I'm a little confused as I try to place this mod in irony - where should it go in the mod load order?
llSpicell 29 Apr @ 4:40pm
Does this happen to be achievement friendly?
Ketaros  [author] 29 Apr @ 4:12pm
Thanks @EnrichedUr4anium
I was about to put this mod OFF if next reply was someone condemning, blaming or criticizing.
You saved this mod... for now... :)
EnrichedUr4nium 29 Apr @ 3:50pm
@johaken I am a historian myself, but you are playing a video game and using mods.. its never going to be 1 to 1 with history. Hell the base game is not even close, but its still good enough we as historians play it. Just enjoy the game and if you dont like the mod, dont play it. He is just trying to add a little flavor.
Ja'far 22 Apr @ 2:24am
wouldn't this mod hurt performance?
Ketaros  [author] 19 Apr @ 5:58pm
@blazingdust abd @cuomo860 not really, they focused on Nobles and proeminent figures, I went to the mob... no-nobles
cuomo860 19 Apr @ 2:47pm
@blazingdust It would probably cause duplicate characters if you have the birth of historical figures game rule on but since this doesn't add characters add game start, if you have that rule off, it should work okay.
blazingdust 18 Apr @ 11:18am
how is the compatibility with Historical Figure mod?

Ketaros  [author] 18 Apr @ 11:15am
Well, I just added the 2 debates here on 2 new FAQ answer at the mod description. :)
Thanks for the inputs.
牛奶大魔王 18 Apr @ 9:53am
Maybe you should state in the description that it is a fictional historical character mod by using GPT, it will reduce disputes
Distance 18 Apr @ 9:08am
Even if the actual historical accuracy is wrong, this mod is worth it for bringing each character to life! good job!
Ketaros  [author] 17 Apr @ 7:39pm
I made a complete post, with more details about the Historical Accuracy here at the discussion, feel free to join up;

Thanks for the feedback — it’s very valid. This first release focuses on 850–950, a period with scarce records, especially for non-nobles. I use ChatGPT in Deep Research mode via my job, which pulls from academic and genealogical sources (not just Google). I review all results manually and select the most plausible names. While I clearly instruct the AI not to invent people, gaps do exist. Some names may be debatable — if you find one that clearly never existed, let me know and I’ll remove it. Please double-check using Deep Research mode first. For certain heritages (like Chinese or Dravidian), it's harder to validate, but I do my best. Later years (1150+) are much easier and better sourced. This is a passion project, so I welcome constructive input, but I’ll remove aggressive replies.

I have to agree with the others, I can't find any info about the characters in the pictures being real people. Are they "real" in the sense of you made lore for them, or are they actual people?
emmaf628 17 Apr @ 12:37pm
I have looked up the "historical figures" in the preview. I can't find sources or history on any of them. I am beginning to suspect they were hallucinated by ChatGPT--so you may not realize they don't exist, but they never did. If you do have legitimate sources, please provide them, because these people do not seem to have an accessible record of their existance.
Johaken 17 Apr @ 12:20pm
I dont think any of the people in the preview image are real.
crochetcocoking 17 Apr @ 11:33am
I really can't find anything about these people online, what are your sources?
Riaman 17 Apr @ 12:38am
Well it is nice having historical lowborns, have you thought of making a mod which makes Regions without DLCs having playable characters with historical stats and traits, seeing great kings with total loser RNG stats is disappointing.
Ketaros  [author] 16 Apr @ 9:46pm
@deadalu93
I really really appreciate the offer, but right now I already have a big list that I am working on to add, so I won't be adding more to it now, until I finish my own list. So, maybe in a near future. Thanks man.
Aaron Darkus 16 Apr @ 8:45pm
@ketaros Thank you :).
Daedalus93 16 Apr @ 8:41pm
Do you have a master list of characters added by this? And also are you interested in character suggestions? I read the only English language biography of Basil Makedon a while back and made a list of figures that would have filled his court and even made a bunch of them that I manually add to my games as adventurers. I have the DNA codes for several of them too, I would have made it into a mod myself but I have no coding ability. Let me know and if you are interested what I have we can get into contact with each other.
Ketaros  [author] 16 Apr @ 7:38pm
@hamletsdead and @aaron
Yes, save game perfectly compatible.
Characters will start spawn around the map every turn of the year.

@spaceracer
No, I wont be making a list of names, althouse the mod localization file is a good reference if you need to check.

Aaron Darkus 16 Apr @ 7:17pm
Save game compatible, for pure curiosity?.
Spaceracer 16 Apr @ 2:50pm
Can we have a list of them all?
牛奶大魔王 16 Apr @ 2:50am
Greeting,I can't find any historical information about most of the characters, I'd like to know where you got them
hamletsdead 16 Apr @ 1:44am
Thanks mucho, appreciate it. Your work is the bomb. Is this new game only or will it work on an existing save?
