Forgot to add though, keep up the good work. The mod is very cool and I know a lot of people who would love this. Take breaks as needed. This game has issues and making mods for it can be exhausting.

@Rachel L if you look at the list of hats in the description, every hat written in italic text is a joke hat

@DrVonBoogie there are at least shemaghs from base B42. Then there is also the "expanded bandanas" mod, and "big scarves" mod.

Finally got to updating this mod. I am very sorry about this huge delay. To be honest, I could not initially find the problem, and then got really unmotivated, and maybe a bit burnt out. However I finally got to working on this again, and found the issue. And to be honest, it was far simpler than I... The B41 version of the joke hats had an empty script file, that would overrite the file from the base mod. Essentially the file with every hat in it got replaced by nothing.

Again, very sorry. I'm fairly certain it is fixed now, I tested it on B41 myself. But if any more issues do come up, report back to me.

There seems to be a bug in the latest build where the placed helmet models are switched with the flatcap model.

Hi Rustillery, I love your mod, especially the vintage style and top hat. I’ve found an issue: when joke hats are enabled, several vintage hats disappear completely — they can’t be spawned from the debug menu or admin panel at all. In singleplayer I can avoid this by not enabling joke hats, but on multiplayer servers the mod loads as one package, so joke hats are forced on, causing some vintage hats to vanish. Would be great if you could separate joke hats into their own mod or make them optional so we can use the full vintage set on servers. Thanks for your work!

I really like your mod, I want to suggest reviewing the characteristics of vanilla hats, since against the background of yours, they do not have protection, which makes them an exception from the equipment. Please do this.

B41 racking up consistent errors. Seems some of the accessories have some issues, mainly the playing cards was giving issues.

It works on B42 for me. B41 is where issues occur.

Am I the only one getting spam errors and just finding that the hats do not spawn anywhere at all whatsoever? I can't really elaborate either because it's happening just as I describe it, the error magnifier isn't telling me what's going on. :rwslugcat:

Ok sorry for comment spam, did another test and if i disable the joke hats, the other half of the vanilla hats come back, very strange

It seems to be the identical issue to what @TheTimppa was experiencing in May. No other mods active, singleplayer they all show up, hosted MP and half are gone

@rustillery i enabled debug to see what was up and it seems for some reason when i host a MP world, half the vanilla hats are not in the item list, whereas in singleplayer they show up fine.

@Tiko it's hard to tell. Do you have both the vanilla and joke hat packs enabled? One thing to note is that if you have the joke hats, you also need to enable the vanilla hats.

@Hardwood Panelling thanks! I used the PZ modding wiki, it has pretty much everything in it that you could need to get started from scratch. It also has a link to a clothing tutorial. I also used this tutorial on how to make hats, it was real useful.

I also could not recommend joining the PZ modding discord server enough. I could not have made this mod without the people there.

I love these hats, and was wanting to dive into zomboid modding, what sort of process/tutorial did you follow to make these?

I really like the ever expanding TF2 classes preview image, I wonder if we'll ever see Pyro and Scout on it, but given Pyro just wears a gas mask that seems unlikely, unless you add some sort of hat that resembles an iconic Pyro cosmetic, like you did with some of the other classes.

@G.I Joe with Garand I listed a few of them in a previous message here. I'll just paste that here, and then add some more.

"most of them are actually in vanilla, additions from B42 unstable. The neck scarves, punk jacket, shoulder holster and shoulder armors are from vanilla.

But there are also some mods used in the screenshots. At least like "Spongie's clothing" "Spongie's open jackets" "expanded bandanas" "clothesbox redux" "Paw low loot" and a bunch of hair mods."

I at least have used the Tariq's beards, and Spongie's hairs.

@CocoBat update is out, and it's a relatively big one! I added the M1 Helmet for example. It is literally the most complex and technically challenging hat I've made so far. It was a hell to get working, but the result is worth it.

@CocoBat that's a good idea, the pith helmet has actually been already suggested, and definitely something I might make in the future. And a full brimmed hard hat could be very possible. As of for now tho, there's an update RIGHT around the corner! :D

Hey, not sure if you still plan to add to this, but I had some ideas, what about a vintage full-brimmed hard hat? I saw some construction workers in game earlier and thought one of those would look very cool, they usually seem to come in white, on a similar note, maybe a full-brimmed pith helmet? the type you see on explorers in movies, or some old fire brigade helmets, the swiss style ones with the combs? anyways, I tend to go overboard with this stuff.

Hey Rusty. I just booted up my test server with this on, and I've noticed a bunch of missing context menu text. Like for instance on the Field Cap, it says "ContextMenu_Front" and "ContextMenu_Back", on the Flatcap it says "ContextMenu_Forward" and "ContextMenu_Backward". Just a little thing I noticed. No rush to fix it, just wanted to point it out.
