@JuanGdo I will probably use some existing backpack model, the thing is, I am kinda not really into 3D modelling, this issue is holding me back, ngl :/ :D

My other plan was also to go through the workshop, find something suitable and ask for it in the case it wouldn't be free to grab, anyway in the end, I imagine such device to be pack in some sort of bag anyway, with some sort of antenna pointing out

Seems to be all working without any errors, I like the battery drain.. Is "Backpack" jammer possible so an individual can carry it ? :steamthumbsup:

@Furi _ Great news on battery system.. I am just using the standard A2 along with fpv ai drone mod as enemy ai drones integrated into OPEX .

@RM Snipe To be fair, the battery feature is n1 on my wanted list, i might get into it after this week update. But still don't know if it is possible to get it work as I imagine.

I won't involve the feature of non crocus drones exploding because that's just out of my reach right now. Just for fun, tell me which drones would you like to be exploding, it might be doable with simple script.

@Furi_ Looking forward to a battery drain feature.. Been frigging with your code, deleted Crocus, changed Ranges to low power (150m) & high power (300m) only, as to be used in coops against ai drones so up to 1200m jam range is a waste time having drones in mission imo. If drones exploded on being hit or falling into the ground like Crocus do would be nice. Cheers..

@asmodeus Yeah I'd like it to be more realistic but it is not easy. Anyway in the next update will be added attachable signal booster, which will allow you to counter the jammer in the way the star link or similar systems does and alpha version of event base jamming system.

Tbh my take on this is to make it playable and logical and not 100% real, because it would be too much work for me. Otherwise I would have to get into work with "frequencies", type of drones and so on, always sounds cool though.

haha, nice! I hope this expands to become a realistic E.W. mod, that lets us intercept other's signals and whatnot. Attach relay stations to radio masts to boost communication, etc.

I rushed a bit last update and during test phase I just tested if jamming works but not the actual Ukranian FPV Drone :D now it should be fixed

@Cl44 originally I worked with a code from Crocus, one or two elements still remain, I might review the code, it would be cool to have it dependent less but right now there are other priorities

TFAR jamming would be swell. The ability to TFAR jam would make a lot of other mods I use obsolete, and they aren't maintained anyway.

The only thing that the other mods offer which this one doesn't is use of the Spectrum Device. If this mod had features that made the Spectrum Device able to detect drones and drone operators, TFAR comms, or to directionally jam drones (especially airborne drones), then I'd have no reason to have any of the other electronic warfare mods installed.

You should look to these mods for inspiration.

@restOFpeople I wanted to add backpack jammer as well but since I was off the project for a while, I got disconnected with a code and I can't get it work, anyway I believe, I might have it ready in august or september

I have in my mind few more features:
1. TFAR Jamming: Classic feature which would be cool to have to neglect need of other mods for potential users.

2. TI and NVG jamming. More like fix then feature, debatable. Since Thermal and NVG image use a bit different system in Arma, it is difficult to make the video feed distorted the same way as the normal one is. Don't expect this one anytime soon.

3. Battery drain: The bigger the jamming area is, the more energy jammer drains. It would use UAV battery or something like that. This one is just wild shot but I kinda like it as another dynamic factor from point of view of resources, logistics and operator. I would of course make it configurable.

Hi, the mod is very cool, but I would make the suppression radius a little smaller because if (Sania) is on the vehicle, it is impossible to fly closer than 1 kilometer with FPV

Is there a way to reduce the radius? or add this to the settings so that we can reduce the radius to 0 meters, and then the mod users can decide how much they need

@D1G1TAL no, partial jamming doesn't matter against AI drones at all, only full jamming

I didn't know about any good mod for AI FPV drones at that time so there wasn't any reason to implement such mechanic when majority of influenced objects would be player controlled

Hey I'm wondering if anyone can tell me about if the partial jamming zone really matters against AI drones. My group and I only play PVE so I'm wondering a few things:

Will armed AI drones that can shoot have reduced accuracy and worse pathfinding when in partial range?

@Furi Yes, correct. I have a script that checks for LOS and range to a tower to determine signal strength. I want to jam that signal basically using this mod, if possible. The EW jammers will be created dynamically so I don't know where they will be but I will have a list. So ideally I need to be able to set their jamming ranges and get their jamming ranges programatically in a script.

@JedsDead I can't provide any, sorry, it is not a mod I built from scratch, I've just edited few variables and added some functions, anyway, if you give me more details, I might help you, because during testing phase I was using various debugging lines

just let it make more clear for me, you have your own script for radio comm suppress and you need to get an actual value of jamming range to apply correct radio suppression, right?

@Krosis_LT yeah I am aware of unavailable cba settings, but it is planned to add some kind of player controlled factor to adjust values and so on. That might be actually kinda easy to do so I'll try to push an update over the weekend. :)

I would prefere to have cba settings to set max jamming distance that players can set it. I would like them to have like 300 meters distance.

@Marc I mean, for me it works in SP, I just don't have any extensive experience with singleplayer in Arma so that statement is kinda disclaimer about me not having a clue if it will be ok or not for other people :)

I take it is good to remove the old Sania / Volnorez mod? Does the jammer work also when in the backpack? Meaning an infantry jammer?
