In theory it's posstible to use larger textures, but I need to check what happens to existing statues when new statues' textures are a different size. I'll put it on my TODO-list.
Aleadrex 28 Sep @ 12:23am
I notice that the textures for the statues end up kind of blurry and low res vs. the textures used on the pawns. Would there be any way to upscale the "screenshots" taken? Maybe something to do with the textures?

The blurry texture looks kind of bad if you're building larger statues.

Very well made mod.
猫 Nawjak  [author] 25 Sep @ 4:04pm
Editing statues is unfortunately not possible with the way I make the textures (which is basically by taking a screenshot). And yes I know that's a huge downside.

I plan to do weapon overlays (eventually...), and maybe if I can manage that I can also figure out how to do clothes overlays - that would come with its own challenges though, as those could conflict with already worn clothes.

Until then you could spawn the desired apparel with dev mode, have the pawn wear it for the statue, and then delete it again. It's cumbersome and doesn't have the same playfulness as directly editing the statue, but it's a workaround.
King Devely 24 Sep @ 10:09pm
Is there any method of getting clothes on the statue that your pawns may not have access to in the game right away? One of my favorite things about Statue of Colonist was the ability to "dress up" your pawns statue in different styles without actually needing them to "pose" in those outfits every time you want to test a different combination. I had a very cool statue on the last run I had with it that looked very regal because I was able to try different combinations of clothes. It just feels like needing to have the pawn actually wear the items is a bit of a pain, and feels more like posing for old school daguerreotype photos than for sculptures. The artists would be able to add a hat even if there isn't actually one around, ya know?

I very much appreciate the work you have done as the spiritual successor to Statue of Colonist!

Thanks.

It works slightly differently.
Vanilla statues show a random pawn and give the chosen pawn an opinion boost toward the artist.
Pawns on Display can be edited at will (with certain limitations, see description), including animals. And they can be rotated 😉
It's up to you which you like better.

So if I have the DLC which I do I won't need this mod? Or does this mod add other stuff?
猫 Nawjak  [author] 16 Sep @ 5:52am
Vanilla statues require the Odyssey DLC.
Miku, Miku Beam! 15 Sep @ 2:08pm
Wasn't this made base game?
superzako 22 Aug @ 6:37am
goat thanks
Lunasulpix_TTV 17 Aug @ 2:02pm
The one folder I forgot existed, thank you so much ^w^
猫 Nawjak  [author] 17 Aug @ 1:46pm
Open game, go to options, next to "Save data location", click "Show". Navigate to the folder shown. In it, you should find a folder called "PawnsOnDisplay". Each statue has one xml file and 4 (or 8 including headwear) texture files.

If you only want to copy a specific statue and you aren't sure which one to copy, turn on debug mode in mod settings, load a game where you have that statue built, click on it, and you can find the filename in its info panel (behind "Debug: base_name:").
Lunasulpix_TTV 17 Aug @ 12:16pm
Hey I've been trying to get some statues of my pawns from an older colony on 1.5 from my laptop save onto my PC save to use for 1.6 but they only show up on the Laptop archive and I can't seem to find where exactly the textures are saved to transfer them over, any help?
猫 Nawjak  [author] 29 Jul @ 10:17am
@supervette22 and @Emdood
done
Emdood 28 Jul @ 10:24pm
I have recently been playing around with "Big and Small - Sapient Animals" and attempted to make a statue of one of my animal colonists.

Turns out it wasn't supported and I was wondering if maybe you could look into adding support?

Really want to immortalise my Pug Doctor, Elliot!
supervette22 19 Jul @ 7:19am
I really like this mod it has a lot of features and option the 1.6 statues don't have. one thing though I would like would be the option to sell the pawn on display, like vanilla sculptures, for some reason none of the traders will buy them from me
Zedd 21 Jun @ 11:12am
If anyone has the same issue I had (where the pawn statue is blank once installed), I'm not sure what the issue was but when I moved it to the bottom of the load order it worked.
Zedd 20 Jun @ 7:39am
Anyone else having an issue with statues not showing once installed? Just a base...if I change the design nothing happens, still just the base.
Rocket 19 Jun @ 6:47pm
@Emdood for this:
1. save the game
2. enable "development mode" checkbox
3. enable "god mode"
4. resurect the dead pawn
5. set to statue in the selection menu
6. DO NOT SAVE THE GAME, instead, load the old save

Now the dead pawn will be in the archive list
Emdood 18 Jun @ 7:45am
Would it be difficult to add pawns that have died and already been buried? I wanted to immortalise one of my pawns, but he had already died and been buried so I couldn't select him
猫 Nawjak  [author] 16 Jun @ 8:05am
@StockSounds
You can now make statues of your held entities, so give that shambler a try, if you still have them :cleandino:

Grand statues are live!

This will probably be the last update I make for Rimworld 1.5, unless there are bugs to fix.

@seobongzu
Thank you very much for the pedestal textures, they look way better than mine. I incorporated them into this mod.
SadPlastic 13 Jun @ 1:55am
seobongzu/ this is what I need on this mod.. thanks
The Gaming Archaeologist 11 Jun @ 2:07pm
I loved that mod and so glad you've made a better one!
seobongzu 5 Jun @ 11:27pm
This is a really great mod. Personally, I find the pedestal texture a bit rough-looking. I've made modifications on my own, and if it looks decent to you, please feel free to use it.

[VKF] BORN TO SMILE :) 31 May @ 8:59am
i keep thinking of the rage against the machine song bulls on parade except hes going PAWNS ON DISPLAY
StockSounds 18 May @ 12:49pm
Technically it's not a friendly shambler, but I still have it held in my colony. Held entities are kinda like pets.
猫 Nawjak  [author] 18 May @ 9:47am
@StockSounds
I use a function called "SpawnedColonyMutantsPlayerControlled". Either Shamblers aren't mutants or your shambler isn't under your control. I guess. I haven't played a whole lot of Anomaly.

@Reisen
So you only want the texture to be reloaded or also the meta information?
I have looked into reloading textures, but have some confusing results where the reloaded texture isn't reliably applied, at least to existing statues, so no guarantee. You might have to just restart your game for it to be loaded.
I also wrote down that I want to do multi-pawn sculptures, but that's very far off. I don't even have a concept of a plan yet.

@ everyone who wants grand statues: They work theoretically, but they need a bit of code to work satisfactoy. As I'm currently taking a break from Rimworld, progress will be slow.

Weapons on statues are also still on my ToDo-list, but are more in the 2026 territory 😅
StockSounds 18 May @ 8:58am
It says I'm able to make mutants into displays, but my shambler (formerly my colonist) isn't an option.
Reisen 17 May @ 8:33pm
Speaking of 2x2 statues...
Could you add a button to refresh the archive?
I'd like to be able to edit the rendered pawn texture externally, after making 2 snapshots and merging the two pawn images onto a single statue.
Lovis 6 May @ 1:40pm
If it isn't too much to ask for would it be possible to make a 2x2 Version of a statue? If you don't want to then you don't have to.
Lux-Vertas 29 Apr @ 7:24am
Great way to honour a lost Modder...
Ishchyaboi 13 Apr @ 10:49am
Fair enough! Thanks for the mod
猫 Nawjak  [author] 13 Apr @ 5:10am
Oh, I thought of several ways to shoehorn dead pawns in, but all require lots of work and will have unintended side effects. Considering the workaround is fairly simple, I have currently no intention to pursue that further. I have a long list of other ideas that sound more fun to do. Maybe some day when I have an inspiration.
Ishchyaboi 12 Apr @ 6:59pm
Could you do something like pseudo-apply a resurrection to get what a dead pawn would look like and then discard the resurrected pawn, obviously without visually spawning them?
猫 Nawjak  [author] 12 Apr @ 1:21am
@Jeffery Helldiver and @SanguinarcAQL
Statue graphic is copied from pawn the moment you click the button, so dead pawns are a challenge. I added a text to the mod description. I hope that helps or is at least informative.
Jeffery Helldiver 11 Apr @ 11:36am
Would it be possible to make it so you can make a statue of a dead pawn? If not I understand, but it'd be great if we could get the statue of the pawn after they die instead of needing to suffer through not having a statue for your most important colonist to ever live after they die.
Duckpower2017 3 Apr @ 1:32pm
@猫 Nawjak i would take a laggy object over not having this lovely mod in my load order any day, i guess in got that 64 ram for a reason haha, plus skills and knowledge are gained over time, so i will await the day when this mod outshines its predesesors glory, but until then its nice to have this back
猫 Nawjak  [author] 3 Apr @ 1:24pm
@Alfredo: regarding larger statues, you can at least fake it by increasing the scale. I might add an actual 2x2 variant at some point.

@Duckpower2017: thanks, though I have to say I do like Statue of Colonist's system, as it was customizable after the fact and had less risk of running your PC out of (V)RAM. And had basically none of the downsides my implementation has. But it requires more knowledge of RimWorld's rendering system than I currently have, especially if you consider mods that change pawns' appearacne, so that's what you get 😜
FireSloth 2 Apr @ 8:38pm
Awesome!! Thank you!
Alfredo, Eater of worlds 2 Apr @ 3:51pm
Are there plans to make larger variants of the statue to get that true dictator feeling going? No issue if there aren't any.
Duckpower2017 2 Apr @ 5:52am
You should be proud of yourself, a lot of people wanted this gem back, and not only did you make a great successor to statue of colonists, you made your own instead of just copy and pasting it. well done!
猫 Nawjak  [author] 23 Mar @ 2:30pm
Funny that you mention it, adding weapons is my plan. However, I need to get a better understanding on how Rimworld renders stuff, and that's a bumpy road so far.
Anmial statues are also planned but also kinda depend on improving how statues are actually displayed.
(≡◉‿‿◉≡) 23 Mar @ 9:44am
Would be awesome if you can include some weapons on them.
JMAN JUSTICE 22 Mar @ 6:23pm
Finally someone remade it!!
Jadelemental 22 Mar @ 7:39am
This would be cool with the museum mod.
girk 22 Mar @ 3:58am
amazing mod nawjak
