Now, weirdly enough, I cannot get any enemies from this mod to spawn despite doing a bunch of quests in the weald and warrens. I placed it at the very top of my load order which is what makes it so weird that I haven't ran into a single one of these enemies.
neIVIesis 21 Aug @ 3:54pm
Oh cool
Stingu  [author] 21 Aug @ 2:11pm
@neIVIesis well the screenshots were made before i changed where they appear but:

- everything spawns in weald and courtyard
- toad can appear in warrens and if you have here be monsters then it can appear together with frogs
- in terms of ruins theres a single enemy thats not really a beast but a skeleton (the one that toad spits out)
neIVIesis 21 Aug @ 3:16am
I think these animal pack makes sense for the weald, where other beasts are found, not so much in ruins or elsewhere. But thanks for the port. I can always alter mashes myself.

When I get home from work I'll try to seek one out with a starter party, shouldn't be too hard. But having it's HP down to not mini-boss levels of HP, it should be far more manageable for parties to deal with it having basically 49 effective HP versus the 88 effective HP it had before when it was sitting at 70 HP when adventuring around and running into it multiple times.
Stingu  [author] 18 Aug @ 5:31am
@Mmaster116 alright lets see how they play out with the size 2 brigand hp (they still have their prot tho)
G0ld Gh0st 13 Aug @ 5:36am
I have a problem with the mod. I turned it on yesterday and put it above other mods that add new enemies, and I haven't run into any enemies from this mod even once. I tried different dungeons and difficulties, but it's like this mod doesn't even work. Is it not compatible with other monster mods or what, because it can't be bad luck.
Mmaster116 12 Aug @ 6:23pm
The Lost Legion is actually one of the ones I kept in my list by you because I wasn't getting sick of them ruining my parties, Lost Legion feel threatening enough if you leave certain units unchecked just like in vanilla, they thematically fit, and do not have over abundant amounts of HP, prot, and the likes. The animal enemies are definitely a bit overtuned for where they can appear and what difficulty, I don't think enemies should have more HP than can only appear in veteran dungeons, if it were like a 3% chance to see them like it is the Collector, I'd understand it more; but alas they are common enemies that have more HP than veteran level units.
Stingu  [author] 12 Aug @ 1:37pm
Yea but you also have to consider the fact that they do "more" dmg etc due to most stats being doubled hp/dmg/speed/dots etc. tho i get your point too, I might think about some changes but for sure i don't want them to suddently become weak (for example lost legion after figuring out stats/doing half of what br had, were kinda weak-ish which made me buff their hp and speed just a little bit)
Mmaster116 12 Aug @ 9:54am
I'll be honest, that's your first mistake, Black Reliquary for all intents and purposes, is a terribly balanced for vanilla without the prep round, and the fact that heroes do WAY more damage in BR than they do in vanilla. They're apprentice level enemies in BR because you have ways of dealing with them in that area, whereas here you don't get the luxury of a prep round to buff yourself up, it's damage right out the gate.

Ideally, enemies like the toad, get forced into being a region specific enemy on veteran and above, because that's what their stats reflect without things like the prep round. It's not until you get enough green trinkets that are actually useful for your heroes to not actually struggle to kill some of these enemies while they output high amounts of stress and/or damage on your party.
Stingu  [author] 12 Aug @ 3:03am
@Mmaster116 well it could be one of the ways to change it sure, it is a port of these enemies from black reliquary where they are an app enemies. But i could see the point of them feeling a bit too good for no trinkets app heroes which is why i tried to reduce the hp/prot (keep in mind most numbers in br are doubled so originally they had the half of what br had).
Mmaster116 10 Aug @ 5:54pm
Instead of reducing PROT and HP of the enemy, how about you relegate it to veteran level dungeons where it belongs? You know how you don't see Bone Commanders and Bone Spearmen in recruit level dungeons? Because they're not supposed to be there because it ruins the balance of the game.

Like before your nerfs to the frog, 70hp with 25% protection in RECRUIT DUNGEONS? The Bone Commander has 59 hp and 33% protection on BLOODMOON, like it has what... 78 effective HP with the protection? With it only appearing in veteran and above you go in knowing that there are more threatening to show up, not be met with something that has more HP than a veteran bloodmoon enemy with less protection in a recruit level dungeon.

Either place enemies properly in their respective difficulties, or actually balance them to where they fit in the difficulty that they're supposed to be in. Not give them damage, high HP, high protection, and high speed.

Nice mod! :isaac:
Stingu  [author] 3 Jun @ 8:53am
@Silent Service I played a bit with chances so it should be better
Silent Service 1 Jun @ 1:54am
help, too many frogs, they appear quite often it seems
kawcia 29 May @ 5:06am
great news, I'll test it today in few hours, and provide feedback
also fyi -playing on stygian difficulty, so its supposed to be hard ig, but not impossible
Stingu  [author] 29 May @ 4:58am
I reduced a bit prot of all enemies + hp for toad, hive in apprentice, that should make it a bit better at the start
kawcia 26 May @ 6:00pm
Graphics 10/10, animations 10/10, ideas - great, but balance is dead. 3rd quest in game, first weald expedition with quite a nice team, 70hp frog with 25% (iirc) prot, spawning maggots and sea snails, great mod but lacks balance totally imho
its a good mod but for early on game is a pretty hard thing to have, and also the abundance of apparition, i did like 5 missions and had to retreat on all of them because the first or second room battle contained the frog, or the frog with the spawner fly
Patricida 12 May @ 11:13am
Hi!
I love the concept and variety that your mod provides. However noticed that your mod causes sea maggots to spawn outside of the Cove - recently I've seen them in Weald alongside BR monsters :c
SpyrousMonk 4 May @ 12:43pm
Absolutely fantastic mod. Brutal, but great. Just one feedback; I got the FROGE trinket last night, but noticed its only negative +100 food consumption. Its cute as fuck, so I'd love if it actually had a positive effect.

@stingu thank you!

@Michael Dredge
Michael 13 Apr @ 10:57am
Who is the hero on the far left of the first pic?
Sorry to bother you with an unrelated question.
Stingu  [author] 20 Mar @ 8:06am
@TOUHOU MiseraCoffee its a port of Black reliquary monsters for Darkest Dungeon so yes it's for DD
TOUHOU MiseraCoffee 19 Mar @ 9:47am
Is this mod for the Black Reliquary or the Darkest Dungeon :bbtcat:?
Wolsten33 14 Mar @ 6:44am
Very good:steamhappy:
𝓦𝓲𝔃𝔃 13 Mar @ 5:36pm
The toad feels like a really good monster to spawn on the weald/tunnels and maybe courtyard due to the insect infestation there.
The Tarnished 12 Mar @ 9:09am
Toad is good, but Carrion Hive is too op for low level heroes, with 40+ HP and an action that summons two bees, Carrion Hive + Horned Toad is horrible for 0 level heroes......:
Sidewinder Swindler 10 Mar @ 11:58pm
Would this mod work with mods that modifies spawn compositions such as Monster Variety? Would love to have them working alongside this mod
U盾欧普 10 Mar @ 7:06am
unbelievable nice :steamhappy:job
Stingu  [author] 10 Mar @ 1:39am
General idea was for them to be in other places since they are together with spiders etc. which are everywhere but I can see your point so I patched it and now they appear only in weald/courtyard
MrMeeps 9 Mar @ 11:34pm
Very nice mod, agree with the weald take, but to each their own.
Edifier 9 Mar @ 7:12pm
nice
JMO 9 Mar @ 3:30pm
Liking the imported enemies, but it does feel like some should be more region specific than others
Epiphany 9 Mar @ 1:34pm
I like the idea of these roaming through all regions (such as even Courtyard+, Sunward Isles if possible). The only precedent for region-specific foes I believe are the Ectomorphs of Beyond Mortality... and as a result they're rarely seen.
KarolTheWildOne 9 Mar @ 12:48pm
why aren't these things in the weald?
TheGrandSirPiggy 9 Mar @ 12:25pm
I feel like a lot of these enemies would work a lot better as Weald enemies, instead of roaming neutral ones, especially the fat toad
Stingu  [author] 9 Mar @ 11:59am
@hermit07 there is currently 1 trinket that's the same as in BR... certain friend toad
hermit07 9 Mar @ 9:18am
There is no reward for them?
Miacidae 9 Mar @ 9:14am
Now I get to punch the toad's and Baboons face in, in the main game too?
My dreams have come true.
Or you know. I might just lose entire rosters. We'll see.
