seeing peoples complaint humm would you consider doing a version where they are as stong in every way as katana unit but have the bow, they wear the same armour etc so I don't see how its unreasonable. maybe cap them to like 8 or something if you think they're op?

- If you could make an onna bushi version... <3 haha

The rate of fire is really nice but i must agree, the melee buff is abit too much. would like that tweaked so its more like they are able to hold their own for a bit, so your katanas can move into position. but prolonged battle with no support, they die like normal.

I thik the samurai archers are a little too strong with melee damage...it defeats the purpose of making katana samurai if the archer samurai are better than them.

Im not sure if this is just me or if it's everyone using the mod but the bow samurai volleys sound like muskets.

By far the most balanced mod for archers. All the other mods ive seen overpower bow ashigaru by giving them 50+ accuracy. The increased rate of fire is a realistic touch that doesnt break game balance. Great job.

Is this game breaking?

Like I never woried about making this game more realistic but is this mod overpowered?

The game sometimes would be screwd by the archers

@Hard, that'll happen. The fix only helps most units but some units will not be fixed unfortunally, and nothing can be done to fix the issue.

sinfonia semplice doesnt fix the sound problem for my chosokabe samurai , they have still cannon sounds all other are fine.... i dont use any other mod

I can assure you, the Sword & Buckler men, Halberdiers and Pikemen were just as well trained in their weapons as Samurai are with theirs and, as I said, a tercio is a pike & shot formation, not a simple 'matchlock units.' Although I suppose the 'tercio' in the game isn't actually a tercio at all, but a Harquebusier regiment, so my point could be considered moot.

Tercos didn't spend a lifetime training with the sword, so they should be worse in melee then Samurai. But they were very well trained in ranged combat with the matchlock, which is why I made them the best ranged matchlock unit in the game.

Why have you made the changes to the tercio?

Tercio's are pike & shot formations - they are supposed to be good at both Ranged and melee combat, as a single tercio includes both harquebusier's and Halberdiers or pikemen, often with grenadiers on the flanks. The point of a tercio and the reason that they were so devastating on the battlefield is that you have combined arms integration at the regimental level, not just the battalion level. The halberdiers and pikemen of a tercio absolutely had the professional training of Samurai, but their 'downside' was poor manoeuvrability, given they had such a rigid formation. They ruled the battlefield for near a century, until advances in firearms made such melee-oriented units obsolete.

I understand the changes to the archers for realism, but why the changes here?

This mod is great. Unfortunately the sound fixing tool given in the description didn't fix the canon sounds made by my Chosokabe samurai archers even after running the tool twice.

@Bruh, if I do it would be unrealistic and make the bow units very OP. They are extremely effective now, I don't want to really over-do it.

Very nicely done. Archers finally feel like how to defend a castle. But for some reason the sound effect for firing a bow appears to have been replaced by the one for firing a cannon? Archers let fly with explosive noises and I can't tell why.

Updated the mod, so now that Hattori Bandits have increase rate of fire, simular to the Bow Ashigaru. If you plan on using this unit, make sure you have the sound fixing tool installed,

Sometime this week I will be updating this mod once again to increase the rate of fire on all Shogun 2 bow cavalry.

could you edit this to include the hattori bandit archers too?
another edit i'd reccomend for them would be raising there unit count from 120 to 160 in line with ashigaru archers, considering the similarity in there stats.
I'd do it myself, but my pack file manager is being wierd. wont let me save edits and when it does they just crash my game.

I would like to add that, in my gameplays, this mod doesn't really imbalance gameplay, specially since I use the Takeda, with strong cavalry, also the sinfonia simplice fix is the best the mod author can do, even darth himself had to use sinfonia to fix sound bugs in darthmod- which is probably why many of this mod users like myself already have the sound fixed.
