the stored weapons seem to get rendered behind the racks, so I can't see them, but this only happens to the ones I built horizontally. I tried reinstalling them and flipping them 180 degrees and I've tried building the horizontal racks instead, to no avail.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Most likely.

Try using 'Adaptive Storage – Global Settings'. I’ve heard it has that kind of functionality.
I’ll probably do one more update (planning to add a few buildings), and I’ll consider it then. Or I might make another storage mod. Or maybe I won’t. I’m not really sure how it’ll turn out.
Apologies for the misunderstanding, I meant that your mod looks leaps and bounds better than vanilla, not the other way around.
Each building already has individual sliders, and you can also adjust them with a mod like Adaptive Storage – Global Settings. If the visual aspect is unsatisfactory, you can directly fine-tune it yourself through XML patching(https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Modding_Tutorials/PatchOperations) .
It feels very overpowered and I wish there was an option to just have it have the same storage as vanilla, because it looks leaps and bounds better.
same here
In my case, there’s absolutely no problem.
I think I know the reason now. The DDS isn’t a file I added, so it didn’t get updated.
If it were truly a problem, the same issue would occur in all buildings. However, since it only happens with the weapon rack, it’s highly likely that the issue arises because I replaced the drawSize and texture, but only the drawSize gets updated while the texture does not. In short, it’s a problem with the Steam server.
Completely uninstall Neat Storage and subscribe again. It seems the update didn’t apply properly.
Genepacks works better with other mods than with ASF.
If all you want is stackable hoppers, a patch that adds stacking to the vanilla hopper would be the easiest solution. If you want this, send me a Steam friend request. I can provide it.
I probably won’t add it to Neat Storage, but I could offer it separately like the Thin Open Shelf or release it as a small mod. I’ll think about it.
No plans to add a hopper since it’s already included in another mod (Fridge).
Completely uninstall Neat Storage and subscribe again. It seems the update didn’t apply properly.
I’m glad to hear you are using it well. Since the rework, I am truly satisfied with it myself. It is true that it can hold up to twice as much as vanilla, but among storage mods, I think it is relatively close to vanilla.
It would be more accurate to ask Adaptive Storage Framework about issues related to conflicts.
I just checked this mod to see what had updated and see the thin open shelf download! Thank you for being so considerate and kind!
That fixed it, thank you!

Please let me know if it works well.
