Hey there! I love this mod but i do have a few complaints... I would like to be able to sell some mod items since theres a hard coded list its near impossible. maybe that could be changed to allow categories of items instead of certain specific items? number 2, I dont have much use for all the money I have since I dont need most things from the store... maybe do something like the sell option and let us be able to buy items from categories (like building/farming supplies) so we dont just collect thousands of dollars. Maybe we could upgrade the PC to get access to specific categories of things as well.. or maybe add a sell limit that increases from upgrades?

Took a contract to head to rosewood and kill someone. However, I forgot what the target's name was, and when I checked the contract, I discovered that the target isn't named in the contract item that I got. I was only able to ID the target when the "cut the target" prompt appeared in the context menu (from right-clicking the corpse).

@vj25ae: Wow! Thanks for this interesting feedback — balancing is not always easy. That’s why I added a hidden feature in the item prices: they are indexed to the age of the world. The longer you survive, the more expensive items become, as they are virtually rarer. Concretely, this means that after 1 in-game year of survival, item prices are multiplied by 4, and after 2 years, by 8.

But you managed to accumulate so much wealth that I’ll need to look into this balancing for the next patches :D

Thank you for the quick reply. I have a few more things I'd like to say.

Problem: The large number of cards obtained.
Playing the mini-game hundreds of times becomes monotonous and feels like work.

Some additional suggestions:

- Make hacking automatic by default, and only require a 4-digit PIN for cards with large balances.
- Reduce the occurrence rate of hackable cards to 5% or less (making non-hackable cards appear 95% of the time might add realism).
- Implement a penalty for exceeding the hacking attempt limit.

By reducing the card appearance rate, the hacking rewards will be lower than before, but I think making hacking opportunities more valuable will make the game more interesting.

While defeating 3800 zombies, I earned $480,000 from selling underwear and accessories, and $400,000 from hacking rewards.
(My hacking skill has leveled up twice, and I have about 800 unused cards.)
Even if the selling price were 10 times higher, I'd still be rich enough to buy 11 Katana swords.

@vj25ae : Thanks for your feedback — I’ve added the automation credit cards to my roadmap: an option to do everything in one click with a short cast time of a few seconds. In return, I thought the player would earn less money when using the automatic mode so it stays balanced, or it could have a higher failure rate. These changes will depend on community feedback. :)

I'm enjoying this mod.

I get a lot of credit cards and ID cards, but it takes so much time to hack them.
I don't mind getting less money from hacking, but could you make the hacking process faster and automated?

@Tukadian: Hello, thank you for your feedback, I’m glad to see you’re enjoying this new dimension the mod adds. Regarding the computer’s condition, it breaks down after a certain number of uses, with consumption being random on each connection. Once it’s down, you can repair it, and if you have a high electrical skill, your repair will be more effective or even complete.

Gotta say, I'm loving the mod. It adds a whole new layer of depth to the game for me. I typically turtle up and go defensive, then get bored with the micromanagement. Now I'm out with guns blazing killing zombies to trade jewelry for ammo and tools, feeling like a true merc.
Only question I had was the check condition option. How do I repair the condition of my lifeline to the dark web?

@Inquidision Time: You need a generator to keep the ATMs working once the power is out—that’s the only limitation. If you move it to your base and use a generator, it will work.

Do ATMs still work after all energy is gone? I would love to take an ATM to my always powered base, but they can't be selected.

@Flexing Baboon: Hello, the latest game patches broke this contract, so it’s currently not working. The issue will be fixed in the next mod update, but I don’t have a release date to share yet.

Am I the only one who don't get how to finish a contract? For example: quest to kill 50 zombies. What I have to do in order to finish it after killing? I only have an option to cancel a contract in PZ Linux window. :(

@splintercupra: This contract hasn’t been working since the latest B42 release. The issue has been fixed and will be included in the next update of this mod.

@Iopy: That’s a really good idea! For now, I haven’t focused much on multiplayer, since it’s not available yet in B42 and the developers could still change things. Thanks for your idea — I’m taking note. :)

@Raixxar, I also edited the LUA file you linked and added in items from the Narcotics and Rain's Melee weapons and that has worked. Thanks for the info, I can edit it for now until you've had time to implement something on your end :)

Hey @Raixxar, I had an idea for when multiplayer comes out, not sure if you've already thought about it. But having an additional tab in the computer for server sales or something to that effect. Allowing players to buy and sell items to each other at a price set by the player putting the item up for sale? Can still use the mailbox system to transfer the item to the player buying the item. But I feel that having this feature alongside the black market, could be a cool addition to servers when we eventually get multiplayer for B42.

Hello Iopy : You can already add items, but it will require a bit of manual editing in the files. The file containing all the item variables can be found here:

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Zomboid\Workshop\B42 PZLinux\Contents\mods\B42 PZLinux\42\media\lua\client\Context\World\ISPZLinuxVariablesTables.lua

This file uses the item ID of your choice and its average price. In general, adding items from another mod works fine — I actually tested it with the Narcotics mod. Sometimes the thumbnail image doesn’t show, but the item can still be bought and sold.

Let me know if you need help modifying this file.

Hey @Raixxar, I know you were talking about giving us an option to manually add things to the buy/sell list and I massively look forward to that. But in the interim would there be any chance you could add a patch for the N&C Narcotics mod and possibly Rain's Weapons? To allow purchases/sales of illicit items?

Adding items via their IDs is already on my roadmap. I plan to offer this feature through the interface when creating a new world. It will also still be possible to add items manually via the variables file if the world has already been created.

wocuolebiedawo: You’re asking for an option to crack all the cards at once, right?
We could imagine something like an automatic mode, where the rewards would be reduced. Maybe the outcome could depend on the number of credit cards and the character’s electronics skill, for example. Interesting idea — could definitely be worth exploring!

After battling zombies, I have obtained numerous ID cards and credit cards, but I have realized that cracking each card takes a lot of time and is extremely tedious. Could you add an option for brute-force cracking of credit cards?

The only thing that would make this mod even greater is exactly what @Alpha Gamer wrote, having the option to add modded items to the buy/sell list would be amazing! Otherwise I managed to work out how to use this mod and love it! Thanks for a great addition to my modlist @Raixxar

yeah, it literally knows the layout of the game, how mod folders are set up and how the games script codes work. As i said there is a bit of back and forth where it asks you questions like "do you want me to do this, should i include that etc..." but its 10 minutes verses all evening doing it manually

Bonelancer: Hello ! You need to use a mailbox to receive the item you just bought.
The item is sent to the mailbox automatically and instantly. Any mailbox will contain your package, you don’t need to go to the one closest to the computer.I didn’t want to make retrieving purchased items too complicated.

Desso: Hi! You can use any computer in the game — not just the one in Knoxx Bank. The mod activates based on the tile texture the computer is placed on. If the option doesn’t appear, try clicking on different parts of the computer. Sometimes, if there's another object in front of it or overlapping it, the context menu might not show up correctly. That could be why you don’t see the PZLinux option.

So you can use chatgpt to write out a full script file of any modded item to include into black market. You just need to give it the prompt "I am using the b42 pzlinux [beta] mod for project zomboid and I want to add modded items to the black market and include reasonable prices." It will start to give you extra prompts like what mods do you want to include and so long as you know the name of the mod, copy and paste the workshop url at the top of steam and paste it along with any other mods you want, it will ask you if you want to put everything in one file or seperate clothing and weapons, just read what its asking and respond. You will then get a full rar file of everything including mod folders (lua, media etc...) and then open the generated file in notepad++ and paste it into the "ISPZLinuxVariablesTables.lua" within this mod. Wallah, you have everything you want and you didnt sit there for hours manually writing it yourself.

Can we use any computer or only in the one in knoxx bank. Strangely i can only access only one computer in the knoxx bank I was in. The other desktop computer didnt have an option to click "PZLinux"

I wanted to take the desktop back to base and did so, although when im at base i dont have option to access the PZLinux with the same computer that previously worked in the knoxx bank.

I successfully purchased the goods and got my goods in the mailbox, but I right-clicked on the package but didn't have the option to take out the goods. Is this a bug?

@Bl4kangel: Hello ! The interfaces use tile textures to open through the menu. This setup should theoretically limit bugs, since it requires a player click. Do you see any error messages in the logs that might help me diagnose your issue? Do you suspect a specific mod might be causing these bugs? Thanks for your help!

Is there any know mod conflictions currently?
Every PC UI that i open up closes on any input i select. And the mailbox ui I cannot close at all, i have to exit and load to have it gone.

@Ryan: It doesn’t matter. You can use any mailbox in the game to send or receive your package. I didn’t want to add strict limitations on mailbox usage.
