Yes, put "h2 subs" into "custom", do not put the contents without a mod folder into "custom"

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I extracted the subtitles with GCFScape, am I supposed to put the "hl2 subs" folder into the custom folder? The subtitles still don't show up when I do that.

You should try Verifying Integrity of Game Files, or remove everything in the custom folder and reinstall my mod into the folder again

I think im gonna try unistalling everything and retrying, or is that not a good idea?

Just make sure you don't named it as the folder that the main game contains

does the name of the folder in the custom folder matter? im sorry, im just confused since i did everything it says and the new subtitles still wont show up

You need to put the subtitles in the custom folder on "hl2", "episodic", "ep2" and "lostcoast", didn't you see the instruction on the description?

Extract everything and put the subtitles in folders with the custom folder.
(ex: HL2 subs goes to hl2/custom, EP1 subs goes to episodic/custom, etc.)

should I have extracted each file individually? because i extracted the entire root file for convenience

ive tried multiple different things but as far as I know, there's no conflicting addons, the files got extracted properly, and everything SHOULD work but I dont know that much about all this

i have closed captions on. all the vanilla subtitles are showing, but there isn't any of the new ones

You need to create a mod folder inside of the "custom" folder

Getting this error :

Does this include compatibility for the mod that adds back citizen and alyx interactions into episode 1? I noticed that mod doesn't have subtitles for those dialogues.

Thanks, either way I was able to fix it myself with the text file and the captioncompiler tool, I just set plat.defaultmoving blank.

My plan is to go through the entire Half-Life 2: MMod campaigns to make sure that most captions I find remain consistent throughout before uploading it to Gamebanana. That will have to wait, due to being busy with personal life.

Yeah. I know there's more, so I recommend that you play the game in it's entirety to find more captions to fix. Use god mode, or die in certain levels for any unique lines that may be spoken. For me, I'm working on MMod caption fixes and tweak some captions to be sometimes similar to how CitzenFive did his Black Mesa captions while adding my take on it. For certain captions I fixed, I marked the side as "// Tweaked" but for your sake, you can mark it "// Fix" to show what captions you changed or added.

@Jererhi just name the mod folder you like in the custom folder, make sure the caption are in resource folder, sentences.txt in scripts folder.
