I'm loving this mod. I got it and started a new game then made a B line to an airport. Used a car to lead the zed away from the heli then raced back and hot wired it. Few days latter I tried to land on the rosewood police station as a comment in here gave me the mistaken impression that it was silent. Well the zed came a running and I ended up with this movie moment where I had to rush to the heli and barely got in a took off before being over run. Learned my lesson there. I now use the heli to get to far away cities but I make save landing zones outside and stash a car to drive in with.

Question: The thunder librarey this mod uses comes with some weapons and ammo. Can this Heli use any of them?

@amp6685 Could be the camera is too zoomed out or you're flying too high, zoom in a bit closer again or fly on lower altitude and it might fix the issue

ive tried flying one, but for some reason after about a minute and then my screen goes black and

Fantastic mod! Please consider for future updates having the helicopter produce a sound radius that attracts the zombies like in the helicopter event. Thank you for your work!

Awesome mod dude. Loving it. Landing on top of rooftops with a hunting rifle and scope and 150 rounds of 308 makes gives me straight up Amon Göth style villian energy while I'm literally just up there smoking and popping heads, completely invulnerable (to all but my own stupidity that is).

How hard would it be to code the helicopter to accept multidirectional pitch/yaw controls? It seems it only responds to one arrow key at a time and will ignore any other arrow key input until you let go of the first one. Led to some whacky flying until I realized what was happening. Would be awesome for a future update. If it's just not possible, I understand, but it would be neat to have. Let me/us know if you can!

keyboard it flys great with a controller i cant find a way to operate it any way other than up at current.

@RDB I don't know if it's still relevant, but the problem seemed to be that he was spawning in a cramped space, and the solution was to simply move to a more spacious area, maybe even without zombies.

Too bad it is considered as a standard vehicle. Would be great to challenge the player to find a new kind of vehicle parts

I found the problem, but the fix needs to be made in the WarThunderVehicleLibrary. I'll contact the author. I'll try to provide a temporary workaround.

If you want to apply the temporary fix yourself, you need to edit the HeliMove.lua inside the WarThunderVehicleLibrary:
42\media\lua\client\HeliAbility

Comment out the following two lines:

Line 383: Vehicle:setZombiesDontAttack(true)
Line 387: Vehicle:setZombiesDontAttack(false)

by adding -- so that part of the code should look like this:

Yesterday, on 25/06/11, I tried to use the helicopter but it didn’t work. It turned on, but it wouldn’t fly or move. There was an error message with a countdown on the bottom right of the screen. Is everyone experiencing this issue?

I’ll make an update once 42 gets a bit more stable. Right now, every update seems to bring some new issues. I remember in one patch the visual bug was gone, but then it came back in the next one.

I honestly can deal with the visual bugs, its workable. I would LOVE a way to make it use more fuel and make it "louder". Make it kinda necessary to land outside of an area or even clear out a landing zone. Like how cool would it be to HAVE to clear out the Louiseville baseball field and fortify it to have a safe landing zone? Or that overusing it could attract zeds to our special and oh-so-safe out of the way base.
