With Anvil, a rare card being an expensive long term scaling solution seems fine to me, no? There are several card in vanilla that do it just as well if not better than Anvil, especially with it being Unnate and Heavy. If you have any specific card nerf suggestions I would be happy to discuss more over discord.

Thanks for the feedback, I do agree some of the mechanics of Conductor are very strong. I'm always looking to try to balance my characters.

The snowball generation is one of the core mechanics of the character, I don't think I want to change that (if I did I would need to redesign a ton of the cards). One of the ways the character is balanced in regards to this is he has way more 2 and 3+ cost cards than vanilla characters. If you have more suggestions for cards to increase the costs of I'm happy to hear them.

In terms of Hats, there are only a few ways to add hats to other cards (one of which I am removing in an upcoming update) so I don't see how the Hat cost reduction in itself is too strong -almost all of the instances of cards being able to give themselves hats e.g. through upgrades are on 1 cost cards, so they would be the same with your suggestion. If you think a specific hat creation card is too strong like The Snowman or something then I'm happy to look into that instead.

To get into specifics:

Having 2 normal energy and 1 snowball per turn feels 90% as good as having Ice Cream, I don't think the character should start with snowball generation. Having this amount of control over energy and also being able to put 3 or 4 Conveyors in the deck because it's common makes it too easy to draw and play all the cards I want

Hats reducing cost to 0 makes playing high cost cards too easy, maybe have it reduce cost by 1 instead?

Another Anvil being a scaling Apotheosis that doesn't exhaust and also does big AOE damage solves long fights too well, especially since the character has effects like Ventilation and Breakthrough that allow you to find it over and over again

Feels like a majority of the cards are slightly too strong for their cost/rarity, but only having played the character twice I can't say too much. But the things I mentioned above def stood out to me as OP

Very overtuned, was thinking in my first run that the character was too strong so I started an a20 custom run. I won first try with no Neow bonus. In both runs I did get snecko eye which probably was a big reason for their success, I think it's a busted relic for this character especially, but even before getting snecko I felt really strong. In general I think this character has way too much draw and energy due to conveyor, hats, and snowball. Maybe it wasn't meant to be balanced, but I came upon this mod because I mostly like the balance of the Vacant so I'm a bit disappointed

What is the exploit with Golden Ticket and Rockin Around?

Also I do not want to nerf interactions that can happen within the mod because of an interaction with a non-modded content that I have no control over and haven't balanced around. Since there are ways to copy cards in the game, nerfing Hats to not be able to be copied just because of a modded relic from a different mod doesn't seem fun or intuitive to the player. If you can describe what the exploit is with Golden Ticket though then I would be open to nerfing that.

So umm... if you have the Reliquary's Iridium Chain relic and you generate a Power card using a Gift upgraded to apply a hat, then you are allowed to perpetually gain copies of a power card forever with an "Ethereal" tag added with each use.

Is this something that can be addressed, such that copies of hatted cards generated during battle don't have hats? I found this strategy to be absurdly strong with Golden Tickets and Rockin' Around even before I encountered the exploit above.

Also, when I was playing, I found that the "name" in powerstrings also seems to be hard-coded and bound to the icon in the status bar.

However, I noticed that some mechanics (like the ​**"temperature-based keyword additions"​ system) have ​hardcoded text**, which prevents the translation from working fully. At first, I was very overwhelmed with all the mechanics but now I see each mechanic isn't very complicated by itself and I quite enjoyed the mod! The visuals are very very nice and there are very fun synergies. Very very enjoyable, just funny enough to keep me engaged without feeling like a joke mod. I would play the character more than once.

Yeah that is a mod conflict, they should be checking for cards that are in valid pools. Not sure what I can do about that.

@Laugic Unfortunately I forgot the screenshot, but I didn't find it normally. I saw it in a card reward from spire biomes, after beating the elite. One of the cards was an uncommon attack that had silent art on it. I had just started testing out the cafe mod and was confused by it.
