i don't think thats the problem. I've read somewhere theres a limit to the mods before stuff like captions/subs get messed up.

Subtitles are broken? Damn. Well, try just unsubscribing from "More Combine Chatter Variety" and seeing if that fixes it, since that mod messes with sentences.txt and that may have something to do with it. If that fix works, let me know and I'll consider looking for a different add-on to replace it.

Not your fault, but is there anyway to get around subtitles being broken because of the amount of mods or will I just have to deal with it ?

@MasterCrazyRJ The collection's been getting minorly updated for a while, I just haven't been rigorously browsing the Half-Life 2 workshop because I have some life outside of Steam. I did update it just a couple days ago with some new stuff, but if you actually find any add-ons that you think should be added, this comment section is a good way to suggest them.

@Kyle Maybe. Left 4 Dead 2 is a weird case though in that it's hard to call most add-ons on its workshop "essential," but I think I'll give it a shot soon and if it gets published you'll know that I found enough to justify releasing it

Great list for the first line up. I'm sure you'll find more in the future but for now this is great. Hopefully someday someone will upload the ep1 bug where sometimes alyx doesn't get out the train car after the crash or she says "here we go! we did it gordan." Twice during the finale. Theres probably some other bugs out there still but we'll get there wherever we see more uploads on the workshop
