Why not port it as is rn & if they ever do that (we all know the devs) then update it?

The only issue is that if I don’t change the type from jet engine to 66, I can’t use Lua — obviously. Without that, I can’t get any of the cool custom animations on the vectored nozzles, and I also can’t have the thrust output be centered while still connecting to standard jet engines.

Sure, as it is, I could port most of what’s already in the mod over to components, but I was hoping the devs would add jet engine connections to component modding. That way, I could rework the vectored nozzles, finish the other things I’ve been working on for the mod, and update the existing parts all in one update.

If they haven’t added full functionality to component modding in the near future, then I’ll just push an update that ports the existing parts to components.

Im pretty sure u can aslong as u dont change the object type to the lua object value & keep it the jet engine, since its just the compiled version of the same stuff.

atleast when i was messing about with an exaust im pretty sure it still worked but that was a bit ago, we REALLY need this as a component mod so 1+ mach jets are possible without the whole body being taken by the engine in any save or in multiplayer

Is it possible to add some "cosmetic only" exhausts, that don't produce thrust? It always felt weird to have no exhaust when using turbines just for shaft power

i tried to update to the new modding system but the devs have not given the ability to make jet engines in the new system so until then there will be no updates to the mod :(

nill does not need to be connected to anything to work. it is only required in the sense that if i would have removed it the jet engine would not work. you can just leave it disconnected :)

Would it be possible to update the 1x1 compressor so that it includes the Air Temperature and Air Pressure. Im using an JCU that needs to measure Air Pressure.

Hi Geesies. I don't suppose you are able to add a 1x1 or 1x3 variant for the rotating vtol jet exhaust to this mod?
2x2 jet engines? are you also able to add 3x3 -> 1x1 or 3x3 -> 2x2 duct converters for example?

I've also seen some modded blocks that have the in and outputs either stacked or just next to the blocks where the blocks dont have a hitbox, maybe thats an option?

But they already have that one number output that says NILL, is it not possible to give that a value like the pressure or temp?

from what i have seen its not possible to change the output strength and fuel consumption but if i find i way i will do so. as for the number nodes, small jet engine parts dont have enough space to add the rest of the nodes sorry

Also having them balanced would also be cool (consume WAY less fuel but also generate less power)

can you make 4x4 or 5x5 engines that are more powerful than the 3x3s? I'm making a plane (specifically the Su-27) but the default engine is just too tiny and not powerful enough.

Could you make a mod to remove or reduce the exhaust effects when the exhaust collides with the ground? It makes hiding jet engines in a build impossible and hard to see in the cockpit of VTOLs. There is a mod that removes the normal exhaust, but I can't get in contact with the creator.
I know this is a big ask, but this would be a huge help. I'd also say it would probably be best as a separate mod because some people may want to use this mod and keep the effects.

question I'm looking at the vector thrusters, do you think it's possible to make the nozzle of the rockets from the space dlc be able to move like that? I think it'd be cool and make them look better to be able to move and not just the flame on it be the part that moves. It would also help me since i'm making a rockets and I can't tell if I setup roll right with them since you can't visible see the nozzle move.

@Laxen, sadly no, jet engine performance is hardcoded, all the devs have allowed mod creators to do is make custom models and collisions

I think the 2d vector nozzles need to have more work done on them. The block placement is wierd compared to other jet exhausts, the base disappears sometimes when placing them, such as when mirroring, and the thrust itself isn't centered on the nozzle so something like an f35 is difficult to build. I know modding is new and things need to be figured out, so I'm not trying to chew anyone out. It's just that this is something I've wanted in the game for a long time. I want to see it work.

Where are the temp nodes?
