Try it now. I reverted it to the default icon, so it should work now.
Reorun 15 Jan, 2016 @ 12:21pm
I downloaded the file, but still have error.

@Reorun, If you don't mind being a guinea pig, I've got a potential fix but I've been unable to test it so far. If you're not interested I'll look into changing the icon. Or alternatively, I'd recommend getting the Renaissance mod as Chumley fixed it there too. :)

If you're interested, just download this file and unzip it to the icons folder here:

Yep. Got "Mod Icon downloading - error" too.

Common bug with various mods, surprised it fixed itself actually. Usually it requires changing the actual image of the mod to fix it for someone.

nevermind... now it works. Didn't even restart steam, so really don't know why it didnt work before.
DonVino 21 Dec, 2015 @ 2:58am
The mod gets an error for me when installing. "Mod Pack" gets downloaded correctly, but then it gives me an error on "Mod Icon downloading - error". Other mods work fine for me. Thanks anyway for fixing an annoying bug.

Unfortunately you must start a new game. It's just how the game handles mods.

Tell me, please, it is necessary to start a new game to get the achievement or enough to load an old save?

Hooray, it really does work (after some trial & errors) :brflash:
Brexis 23 Feb, 2015 @ 6:49pm
Glad to see the fix.
Shidan  [author] 23 Jan, 2015 @ 6:06pm
Well ok then. No idea why it wasn't working, but glad you got it.
Lelila 23 Jan, 2015 @ 8:23am
I checked just to be sure, and the box for active mod was checked. I unchecked it and checked it again, and then I got the achievement. After I killed him again I mean.
Shidan  [author] 23 Jan, 2015 @ 5:07am
Did you remember to actually activate the mod in the mods screen on the main menu? It wouldn't be the first time I saw someone that forgot to do that lol. And if you don't normally use mods it's totally understandable if you didn't notice you had to do that.
Lelila 23 Jan, 2015 @ 1:24am
No other mods. I don't really like mods. I just like not getting achievements even less :P
Shidan  [author] 22 Jan, 2015 @ 5:01pm
That shouldn't affect it. As he didn't have any cities when I got it.
Only other thing I can think of would be a mod incompatibility. Are you using any other mods?
Lelila 22 Jan, 2015 @ 4:56pm
That was from 5 seperate games, all started after subscribing.
The only thing I could think of that might have hindered my achievement progress was that he had no cities at the time. But if I wait for him to get a city he just dies off from monsters.
Shidan  [author] 22 Jan, 2015 @ 4:43pm
Really? Was this on an old save? Or did you actually start a new game after subscribing?

First I've heard of it not working.
Lelila 22 Jan, 2015 @ 8:20am
Killed him 5 times after subscribing to this. Still no achievement.

aaaaaa

I don't see anything that indicates it would only be earned through Exiled mode. The only thing I can think of, is it doesn't count if you get them through any other method than purchasing them from the lord screen. Though I don't think that's the case, as I think I got the achievement for the Witch by getting her through a lair.
Shidan  [author] 10 Nov, 2014 @ 5:23am
Huh, first I've heard of there being a correlation with what mode you're playing in. I'll have to take a look at it. It's not impossible it's something I could fix with a mod like this as well.
Mazurek 9 Nov, 2014 @ 10:19pm
Something I did notice about the achievements, though. It seems the achievements for hiring specific heroes won't work unless you're doing the primary campaign. For example, I've had the witch in my army several times in the past, but it never gave the achievement until I found her while playing the campaign.

Unfortunately, I have one of the lieutenants left to slay in the current game...and the dragon happens to be it. Unlike the others he won't follow back through the portal for an easy kill.
Shidan  [author] 9 Nov, 2014 @ 3:16am
Slight addition to what Mazurek said.

Mods that are already active on a save, can be updated, and the changes WILL take effect. That's actually how I tested this mod. I had a save with this mod active, set up so I could kill him next turn. Everytime I would change something to fix it, I would load the save and kill him. If I didn't get the achievement, it didn't work. Eventually, I got it.

Though there are probably some changes that won't work, like level-up trees or something.
Mazurek 6 Nov, 2014 @ 7:40pm
To Akumulator: No mods that are activated at the main menu will work on a save game. In fact, the save game will auto-activate the mods that were in play when it was first created, and deactivate what was not, regardless of whether you want to continue with them or not. Such is the way the game works.
Hydra 6 Nov, 2014 @ 8:37am
Tested today on a small world with only him as the opponent. Confirmed that the mod works.
Shidan  [author] 1 Nov, 2014 @ 7:21am
No it won't. Pretty sure you can't even apply new mods to an existing save.
AkumulatoR 1 Nov, 2014 @ 7:17am
Doesn't seem to work with existing saves, pity. Nice work anyway.
Yin Yun Yang 31 Oct, 2014 @ 8:39pm
It works, hurrah.
