There is a problem. I had a CV building a warehouse. The CV got destroyed. So I thought, "I'll just get another and 'deploy to station'. All seemed well and good; the new CV positioned itself and building was, once again, available. However... the radar that had already been built before CV destruction was marked as 'done' when I checked with new architect, but a mission to build radar existed and there is no way to get rid of that. Trading was also limited by not having a viable radar..My options were limited to building the rest of the station without a working radar, or destroy the station and start again.

Well, it works, the plot station was relocated without issues :D
A hint: If after the recycle of your station and repack of your CV, the ship is unresponsive or not accepting orders, go out of sector, add it to your squad and issue any order, refuel, go to your location, etc., and the CV will start to take your orders.

Backup your save games and give it a go. Take good care of the builder ship that you get as the plot station will ONLY build from it and it won't be indestructable ...

There is some extra info in the readme.txt which is also in two of the pictures at the top of the Description page above here. Look at the ones with lots of text. :steamhappy:

You get back 80% of the wares needed to rebuild the station plus 100% of the operational turrets and shields.

I have a question, so the recycling is just extracting all the wares in the station and then destroy the station itself? the cost or wares like reinforced metal plating and fusion reactors I put in for building the station will not be recovered right?

Just used this mod...works well...nice one. Couldn't work it out at first....derrr....then read your piece on egosoft re defense officer doing the business. I was pleased to see that the defense officer comes back onto the Skunk after setting the charges. Nice one, thanks. You've made up for a big hole in the vanilla game dynamics.

The fix for Unknown Defence Officers is now released. As of v0.11 no more unknown Defence Officers should be created. You can either fly around as normal and allow the improved cleanup to fix things in the background as you trade with NPC stations or go to Tools - Repair Special and select Unknown Defence Officer which will find them all and offer to delete them.

Heya jth,

i just found a full dock of Player owned People.. all of them Marked in the Savegame as "$RecycleSt_comms"

I know for fact that these ones are relics from Salvaged Stations.. but i really have no clue how they come on board of the Teladi Overwatch.

relating ew-tech... i assume he was talking about the ? Symbol over the Heads of his people.

Ever seen spooky people with question mark over their head? Found out that they were the technician and defense officer from my station. They are placed now somewhere else, have only a "bye" option and question mark over their head. Don't know how to recycle them or get them back to work.

Edit to previous post: Nvm ... found the reattach order ... you have to contact the architect on the cv which you want attached to a station then have them deploy to that station ... all good ...

so ... recap ... contact the Defense manager of a station to remove the attached cv ... contact the Architect on a CV to attach a CV to a station ...

As of September 22, 2015 this mod works and appears to be save friendly (meaning it can be removed from the game without disrrupting your save file).

could have swore that I read somewhere that Construction Vessels could be detached and reattached to Player Stations ... the Detach process works great ... have so far not found a way to reattach the cv to the station other then through the assignment process which isnt the same thing ...

This Mod is pretty awesome though ...

I have just released version 0.09. This adds the menu option to the Defense Manager and will create a dummy one if needed. Have a look at the first Picture above to see how to get to the Recyle or Destroy menu.

When you land on one of your own Builder CV's then the back door menu will open up by itself. Its triggered by you landing, the conversation is actually with the ships computer.

every considered to make a addon to this mod or a new one where its possible to buy NPC stations? :) coudt be nice so i coudt get special stations and to better control difrent sectors

Sorry there is nothing that I can do with a mod to influence that, however you might want to try the following

Before giving instruction to build I move to about 10km from build location, add CV to my squad and then wait for it to fly up beside me. That seems to help it fly to the build anchor faster.

I tend to save game just before the CV has reached the spot where it is going to build. Then exit game and shut down Steam to clear out everything. Then restart game and load the building save game. That tends to maximise the build speed and maximises the chances of getting a complete station or extension.

If you do another save game at 95% built or expanded then you can load that if the station fails to build properly. Do the exit and restart Steam too and most of the time you get everything built OK

v0.08 release includes introduction of multi lingual support for menus and event monitor. Full translations for French, Spanish, Italian, English and German. Partial translations for other supported languages.

Partial translations includes words that Egosoft provide translations for which covers most of what comes out on the event monitor and some of the menu items. Words for which there are no Egosoft translations will come out in English.

At the moment you loose what is held in the recycled station storage modules. On my todo list is "A proportion of the wares stored inside the station should be ejected into space for salvage" - medium priority. If that feature is very important to you then please let me know.

Thats great, it confirms that the new feature works and that it was worth the effort to do. I will see about putting some info about where the player and station are in a later release.

I tested it again in DeVries "Empty Space" and the first Time its not working.
After Docking at the CV for using the Backdoor Feature (now i'm in the same Zone) its not working.
Then, first I use the Diagnostic Button under Tools. > Not Working.
Second I use the Cue ... Button, wait 10 Seconds, and now its working.

I have recycled a station in Empty space and it worked for me, so I think there is something subtle going on.
The fact that you can recycle a station in Normal space means that the cue is not stuck.
There are two greying out conditions
1) the player MUST be in the same zone as the station (needed to recycle properly)
2) the mod must not be in the middle of doing something else (cue stuck)
Can you confirm that you meet both conditions
