Hi Amulet of Kings,
Hope you are well! You might remember me - I previously created the Chinese localization for your "Expanded Family Trees" mod. Thank you again for adding the link back then, the Chinese community really appreciated it!
I've been enjoying your work so much that I've now completed a full Chinese localization for this mod as well.
The submod is available here: 网站链接
Just like last time, would you be so kind as to add a link to this localization in the description? It would be incredibly helpful for Chinese players to find it easily.

The native recruitment is limited to Thermodon, the Amazon's starting province
Timujin 31 Aug @ 10:34am
Is the native recruitment tied to the realm of Isuwa if you want to recruit their units as another faction? Or does it have to be through one of the two starting regions for the amazons?
Luke Danger 29 Aug @ 4:05pm
Thanks for the explanations! That makes sense, and choosing Mesopotanians also means that you didn't need to change the base culture as well. Admittedly I'd probably have gone with the Aegeans as the base culture, but that makes sense. Technical reasons for no audio also makes sense - I'm guessing that the 'easy' way to do it would be to essentially create unique voice sets for every single Amazon unit, which would quickly become cumbersome.
Amulet of Kings  [author] 17 Aug @ 1:31am
Thank you for your comment!
1) The tech tree is determined by a faction's culture. For the mod, I created a custom subculture for Amazons, but didn't change their base game culture (Cimmerians are Mesopotanians in the vanilla game). I initially planned to create a custom Amazon culture, but I decided againt it due to the unexpected bugs this could introduce. It was a matter of effort vs reward, those techs are the only out of place thing that I can think of.
2) Importing audio files to TW games is a very complicated process. As of now, there is no simple way to replace a faction's audio effects. You need to manually identify the base game audio that you want to update. Moreover, this completely replaces the audio file, so let's say we replace the Mesopotamian voice lines with Amazon ones; then all Mesopotamian units would use the Amazon audio. Unfortunately, using Tausret's voice lines is the least intrusive option.
3) I have already updated the mod to fix the bug :steamhappy:
Luke Danger 16 Aug @ 9:41am
Alright, this is cool and it's integrated quite well. A few questions, if you are willing to oblige:
1) I noticed that their tech tree seems to be the Mesopotanian one, such as getting extra food at the Tigris and Euphrates, while being situation in Hittie lands far from that. Was that intended, or a side effect of how you set them up?
2) All their units seem to be using Tausret's voice lines, referencing Egypt and Hathor. Was this just a placeholder, or did you not intend to extract all the Amazon voicelines and transfer them along with the unit models?
3) In custom battles, the Amazon General (solely Penthesilia) seems to not have a name or description. Might just be a minor bug.

Either way, great work porting this over, Amulet of Kings!

I'm not actively developing mods, but if you are interested in doing it yourself, send me a friend request and I'll tell you how to do it.
Sneaky Markus Kruber 9 Aug @ 3:32pm
Great mod, thank you! A little questions: Is there any chance for a double unit size submod for DoA?
Amulet of Kings  [author] 29 Jul @ 6:37am
Amazon units use animations from Troy, I guess that the author of the other mod has only considered the animations used by Pharaoh units.
(UW)Namelessking 28 Jul @ 11:29pm
i run this mod with https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3302399280 but for some reason they only do sync kills on 2 handed infantry is there a compatibility issue or is it something else?
Timujin 19 Jul @ 10:04am
I would very much appreciate that, I have modded a decent amount myself, but never touched the starpos, everyone has made it sound very intimidating and time consuming comparatively. I'll start a discussion here so as to keep our dialogue out of this mods comment section if that's alright.
Amulet of Kings  [author] 19 Jul @ 12:31am
Yes, all my mods have been designed to be compatible with each other. You can check the correct load order in the description of the Extended Family Trees mod.

Unfortunately, I do not create mods upon request, but I can tell you how to create it yourself.
Timujin 18 Jul @ 9:16pm
Have others tested that submod with both Extended family trees and daughters of Ares?

Is there by chance one with 10 building slots?
Amulet of Kings  [author] 18 Jul @ 1:49pm
Hi, the Bibliotheca Historical collection already contains a submod to increase the number of building slots in province capitals. The Radious compatibility submod turns capitals into 12-building slot cities (no need to use Radius if you don't want).
Timujin 18 Jul @ 11:25am
Great looking mod mate. Many thanks.

Any chance you could make a starpos with the following mod included:

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3476874814

It would be much appreciated if someone could make one. Having the 10 building slots would be great.
Amulet of Kings  [author] 18 Jul @ 5:12am
Strange indeed, as you say it should say "modded" next to the game version. Reinstalling is the only thing that I can think about.
Akasi 18 Jul @ 4:49am
And by the way, those two are the only mods I attempted to install/enable. First time enabling mods for this particular game.
Akasi 18 Jul @ 4:48am
I might try reinstalling the game then because nothing else that I've tried works.
I even reverted to using the english version of the game and dump the translation mods. No luck.
Changes the load order, no luck.
The issue is that when I start the game and go to New Game, the Cimerians are still there and no Amazons in sight. It seems as if the mods weren't loaded at all.
I'm not sure if it's the case for this game but when you start the TW Warhammer games, if you are loading mods it would say so in the game version, it usually says modded somewhere in there.
Here I don't see that, I only see the version 2.0.2 and the build number but it doesn't say modded which strikes me as odd.
Amulet of Kings  [author] 18 Jul @ 3:55am
That load order should be fine, it is recommended to put the translation submods on top of their corresponding base mods, but they shouldn't affect the gameplay. What is the issue? Does the game crash on lauch? Do Amazons get listed in the menu?

Some common bug fixes include:
-Unsubscribing and resubscribing to the mods
-Reinstalling the game
Akasi 18 Jul @ 2:27am
I'm trying to use this mod but it doesn't load for me. My current load order in the TW launcher is:
1. Daughters of Ares
2. Daughters of Ares spanish translation
3. Expanded Family Tree
4. Expanded Family Tree spanish translation

I'm running the Dynasties 2.0.2 version. Any idea what could be the issue?
hsaIV 15 Jul @ 1:54am
Cool mod, any chance you could make a mod replacing Cassopaei faction with the Dorians?
EnumaEllis 14 Jul @ 7:05pm
There isn't any different bodyguard in custom battle for her, though, which is why I asked. Since I don't know if you got rid of this feature or it is bugged.

Anyway, I was messing around with it and finds that female units doesn't need female animations to operate.

In fact, female animations are often broken, like the two-handed axe and the rare spear shield and jav animation. I just used the base anim and it seems to be fixed. The two handed axe for the Ares Daughter unit have an animation where their axe goes out of their hand, for example.

Thanks for the reply, though.
Amulet of Kings  [author] 14 Jul @ 10:39am
Hi, Penthesilea uses custom animations from Troy, where she only had spear+shield animations. This is why changing her ancillaries doesn't change her weapon or bodyguard. The only exception is equipping her a charior, which will turn her into a chariot unit. Technically, you can assign her other Amazon animations, but it would be a very tedious work. Unfortunately, I'm no longer adding new content to the mod :steamsad:

The screenshot was taken in a custom battle, if I remember correctly, there are several bodyguards to choose from in custom battles.
EnumaEllis 14 Jul @ 9:53am
In your screenshot, Penthesilia have a different bodyguard than the game, did you change those? They are always Warmaiden if on foot.

Also, besides the Warmaiden and the chariot bodyguard, I don't think Penthesilia have any customizable bodyguard. Giving her a bow doesn't do anything, but giving it to another female general does.
Am I missing something?
[CCAV]爵士 11 Jul @ 5:19pm
没有大佬做一下中文吗?
Amulet of Kings  [author] 10 Jul @ 8:04am
That must be a mod load error, the Daughters of Ares mod should be loaded on top of the Expanded Family Tree one.
Naobi 9 Jul @ 9:59pm
I forgot to write something else. When you start a new game, the starting units are not Amazons, but Hittite units
Naobi 9 Jul @ 9:48pm
Thanks more, author
Amulet of Kings  [author] 8 Jul @ 10:25am
Ok, I have tweaked the armour ratings of some Amazon units to better adjust to their model and tier.

Ragarding the unit cards in the faction selection menu, all 35 Amazon units were already listed. Maybe you have missed the native units, which are listed in the panel above.
Naobi 8 Jul @ 5:52am
Not all units are listed in the pictures when you choose the Amazon faction. Please write when you fix both errors
Amulet of Kings  [author] 8 Jul @ 5:33am
I see, it's not a bug then, but a balancing issue. Black Spears have been transformed into tier 4 units in the mod, so their stats have been boosted compared to their Troy stats. I think that all two-handed spears could get their armour nerfed. I'll fix it when I some free time, let me know if there are any other inconsistencies.
Naobi 8 Jul @ 4:58am
The Black Spears unit is described as having weak armor, but in fact, they have 120 armor points, just like the previous spearmen, and their armor is described as weak.
Naobi 8 Jul @ 2:55am
Black spears have 120 armor, but they're dressed in rags and have a high running speed, while Ares's daughters are visually in armor and have a lower running speed and 25 armor. This is clearly an error
Amulet of Kings  [author] 8 Jul @ 12:09am
Hi, which unit are you talking about? The initiates should have 10 armour points, and the Amazon Chargers 45. The units have been balanced based on Pharaoh's units, not their Troy's stats. Therefore, some units might have more armour than "expected" just from analysing their model/skin. Check the unit icon for more information, it tells you the unit tier and weight.
Naobi 7 Jul @ 7:00pm
Hi, author, this is a cool mod. There is a bug where the armor of Ares's daughters is not calculated correctly. They have almost no armor. The ordinary spearmen have a lot of armor, but they shouldn't have any
EnumaEllis 6 Jul @ 2:45am
Normally I just edit faction leaders and troops, but Cimmeria is basically have barely any content. I would just edit the units to be all female and rework the troops.

Startpos is the few things I'd rather other modders do work on since it's not something I want to mess with. I do some db, variant, and editing models. I might get in touch with Tree modders to see if they can compatch it.
Amulet of Kings  [author] 6 Jul @ 2:33am
Thanks for your words! Unfortunately, I'm no longer actively modding, I'm just supporting my existing mods with bug fixes. If you are interested, I can help you with creating a compatibility submod, modding Pharaoh is 99% the same as modding WH. Also, Daughters of Ares is a submod of Expanded Family Trees, so you need to create a compatibility submod for it first.

Also I don't hate Radious, I simply don't use it in my campaigns. The thing is that I used to get lots of comments asking whether it was compatible with Radious, so I edited the description to clarify it. Apparently, I was not clear enough.
EnumaEllis 6 Jul @ 2:17am
Do you mind making an Agony submod compatch? This is a REALLY COOL MOD!

I am making some female units mods as well, though I come from 3k and WH3 modding mostly, but I would love to have this mod as well in my campaign.

It's fine if you don't, but thanks for making it. Also yeah, I hate Radious.
Green Beast from the East 5 Jul @ 2:47pm
@Naobi, working on this with permission from AoK, but it's my first time so progress is slow. If you have experience and want to help it'd be greatly appreciated/send me a DM
Last of the Romans 5 Jul @ 2:32pm
@Naobi It's right there in compatibility (No it does not)
Amulet of Kings  [author] 30 Jun @ 11:48pm
LMAO
Naobi 30 Jun @ 6:18pm
this mode workin with Radious mode ?
Amulet of Kings  [author] 29 Jun @ 10:44pm
I don't know, they might both edit conflicting tables, which would crash the game when launching it. Even if they work together, some features from Agony might to apply correctly to the Amazons.
Red 29 Jun @ 4:59pm
Is this compatible with Agony?
Jimbob 24 Jun @ 12:39am
Editing the unit models is easily done- follow a few youtube tutorials and download the varianteditor from steam.
Nasty 23 Jun @ 7:14pm
You could not do a version without their hats on? i find them a bit silly. They look cool otherwise.
Amulet of Kings  [author] 21 Jun @ 10:35am
Glad you liked it! I have already included all Amazon units from Troy. Rome 2 is set 1000 years after Pharaoh, it wouldn't make sense to include its units in the game.
Nasty 21 Jun @ 9:31am
love the mod otherwise but will there be some more heavy armor looking amazons? would be sick. I remember there was one for rome 2 that was really great.
Amulet of Kings  [author] 21 Jun @ 12:35am
Yes, unfortunately only male characters can be generals, it's the only workaround to play as Amazons. Modders have used this trick since Rome 1.
Nasty 20 Jun @ 7:35pm
Says that she is a male in the details information lol
