Yep, this is an unfinished project. I was going for a natural, outdoor feel. As it is it's probably a brush-whacking simulator.
harpo 9 Nov, 2020 @ 3:33pm
I agree with others. Not much happening in a lot of sections. Must have spent a quarter of my time wacking down brush. Way to much of that. Have not finished if that is possible but did not really see any puzzles to solve. Nice mod but just a little more fine tuning.

I really enjoyed open world concept that reminded me of Ishar Trilogy. Great work, but i hoped for ending of stoliline at least ;)
MeisterRihno 21 Sep, 2017 @ 10:43am
pls make more it was really nice to play
Beetroot  [author] 10 Sep, 2017 @ 9:03pm
Yeah guys, I'm sorry. That's as far as I got!
What did you think of the rest of it?
bombscare 9 Sep, 2017 @ 8:35pm
I've also gotten to The Rocky Spit and I have no idea if that's it, or if I'm missing something and there's somewhere else to go.
Draconnor 27 Aug, 2017 @ 6:01am
Is The Rocky Spit last existing location?
inanity 5 Feb, 2017 @ 7:38am
"The Oubliette is a large mod, possibly two hours playtime if you visit all the current areas." What the fuck? How is two hours of playtime "a large mod"?
53yoGamer 31 Oct, 2016 @ 3:17am
great athmospheric level design. however, the maps are too empty. too few things happens. too few monsters, too few treasure. two things: am I right that you finished work at "the rocky spit". the map is incomplete there and I did not find any more exits. Also, in the first tomb of the Oubliette, there seem to be (iron?) keys missing to move on - the place where three gates are next to each other.
xPumaFangx 13 Aug, 2016 @ 6:24am
All I have been in was the forest and its great! It looks and feels like a forest.
Kysumu 7 Jun, 2015 @ 1:59pm
The massive areas are very impressive graphics wise, very realistic and there's a lot to explore, but I gotta say, not much happens. There's an occaisonal mob and stuff to pick up but no real puzzles. I'm hoping that you'll add some puzzles later because the forests and beach areas look so awesome.

I've had to stop playing though, got a long way into the game and then something bad happened and it won't load any of my saves. I'm at the second beach area, gone down into the dungeon, got a long way round the small pools and tried to F9 after an F5 a few minutes before, log file says "[string "Surface.lua"]:0: could not resolve object reference with id 15250 (referenced by chest_1)".

Hope you can fix this because I would like to try finish it without having to start again.

I'm a fan of the gritty RPG :)
Thanks for the feedback, I'll take care of that stuff asap.

I have a couple of bugs and minor problems to report on.
Bug 1: while in the startig room the starting text was repeating itself and so i ended up with two mortar & pestles.
Bug 2: If you stand on the first bridge you get to in the game, turn around 180 degrees. there is a texture problem there.
Bug 3: there is a missing texture on a keyhole in the obliete dungeon accessible from the save crystal.
Also, i would say that there are a little few light weapons early on. I have now 4/5 different heavy weapons and 2 light (2daggers). maybe put a rapier somewhere at the start?
Idea: Make the first river 2 squares wide instead of 1. it's really easy t get trapped by the turtles in the river and drown.
Overall, i really like this mod. It's HARD, food and armor is VERY scarse when you compare it to the start of LoG 2. Challenging.
Beetroot  [author] 7 Mar, 2015 @ 9:11am
That's great thanks! I'll look into the bug.
Give me a thumbs up if you liked it!
Fionnlaigh 7 Mar, 2015 @ 8:29am
Hi, I like the mod so far.

One bug: Igot suddenly to knifes and two mortars after I went up some stairs.
Tired Knight 12 Jan, 2015 @ 1:11pm
Would love to see more added and maybe even an end as well. The only critique is that the map can be a bit wonky in some areas, it looks as if there are paths or doors but its just overlay or broken clip issues.
rhrp 10 Jan, 2015 @ 10:52am
Sorry i didnt think is not complete. I have enjoyed playing this mod.
Make more only if you you have planned doing it.
May the save problem keeped people to playing it.
I first tried it on 19 december, then i gave a new try on 02 january.
I like that first Legend of Grimrock and later the Legend of Grimrock 2, have extended playtime through the workshop.
Beetroot  [author] 10 Jan, 2015 @ 7:05am
Holy cow man! You really explored it!
The truth is, that's as far as I have made it. I wasn't sure people were playing even what I had done. Should I make more?
rhrp 9 Jan, 2015 @ 2:42am
Thanks, i forgot that i have 2 lockpicks inside a sack, one of the grates was already open.
I have finished the southwest part of the Oubliette level.
Dont now what to do next, i think im missing the last level.
I have visited above the Obliette level (9 levels), leveled with the Oubliette level (5 levels including Oubliette), below Oubliette level (2 levels), and other one below these.
Beetroot  [author] 8 Jan, 2015 @ 10:57pm
Wow cool man! Did you try lockpicks?
rhrp 8 Jan, 2015 @ 3:14pm
Hello, i have visited 17 of 18 levels, and now i'm stuck, dont now how to continue.
In the southest part of the Oubliette level, there are 3 key holes (may be iron keys), but i havent found the keys jet.
Also near these key holes, there is a white key hole. I have not found the key either.
Is the tomb level small?, just a little southwest section.
In the tomb level there are some empty alcoves, shall i put something in those alcoves to access other areas of the level?.
Please some hint.

When you select the mod you want to play, the update button is all the way at the bottom (for some reason).
Mithrandil 4 Jan, 2015 @ 11:05am
Ya i had started a new game " didnt have much choice there " and im pretty sure i get auto updates on this maybe not ? ill look around and try your mod again soon, i started another atm
Beetroot  [author] 4 Jan, 2015 @ 8:12am
Hey Mithrandil, have you updated your mod version and started a new game?
fanfanlatulipe gerard philippes 4 Jan, 2015 @ 4:28am
super de tres belle map
Mithrandil 3 Jan, 2015 @ 12:53pm
I just tried this one it still has a glich for me, when reloading a quick save !
rhrp 3 Jan, 2015 @ 10:12am
The new version seems to work well.
If you start a new game, the underwater button is gone, and other secret button works.
I have saved and reloaded successfully.
Thanks
Beetroot  [author] 3 Jan, 2015 @ 7:22am
OK guys, I did find the linking problem with the NE button and I fixed it. Also the underwater button is gone. Please please let me know if this really fixed it! Thanks a million.
Beetroot  [author] 3 Jan, 2015 @ 7:18am
Ha! OMG I can't believe you found the underwater button! That was supposed to be the impossible secret that opens the "test" complex back in the first room. There were portals to all the levels and an XP button and stuff like that. For level testing. I deleted that room though, so yes I will kill that button. Also I will investigate the Button in the NE and see if there is a problem. Thanks for maybe finding the problem!
rhrp 2 Jan, 2015 @ 10:52am
@Super_Duty, as i have posted on the bug reporting forum, there is a workaround solution for the save problem, that has worked for me.
Now i have have played for 2 hours and saved and reloaded without problem.

On the Oubliette level, at the begining, on the North East part of the level, there is a secret button, that if you press it, you get a warning error message, if you save afterwards, then when you reload that save you crash to desktop.
So do NOT press that button.

Later, on the North Central part of the level, there is another secret button underwater (the first water you saw), that if you press it you, get another warning error message (diferent), so i am not sure if it is safe to press it.
So do NOT press that button either.

Please tell me if that works for you also.
Beetroot  [author] 19 Dec, 2014 @ 10:13am
hmm. I'll have to go back in. Sorry guys.
Super_Duty 19 Dec, 2014 @ 9:14am
No joy, same deal, played for a hour or so, went to reload a quick save and got the .lua connector script error. Tried loading an earlier Autosave and same thing. Odd that older saves are also broken when this script error occurs.
Beetroot  [author] 13 Dec, 2014 @ 10:32pm
Updated. Hopefully this will fix the crashes people have been reporting.
