On the big tower thing during Parish Chapter 2's crescendo event, there is a metal bar just next to the second ladder up, part of the scaffolding, which the bots fail to navigate over

Hey smilzo, in some campaigns (official and custom), one of them will always end up heading back to the starting safehouse for some reason.

Update: after Navfixes was unsubscribed and multiple game restarts, bots still get stuck on the pillars of Death Toll Boathouse, however, the issue did not happen when I launched a game before the mods (including L4B2) finished loading, indicating either a conflict issue or (I heavily suspect) a bug with L4B2. Sadly my volume of addons make it unrealistic to undo every one and check, so it will be appreciated if someone who has a clean(er) installation tries this.

I have also encountered the bots stuck issue, which can be easily replicated by spawning into the Boathouse of Death Toll survival and running up the stairs to the level 2 balcony. There is a moderate change that bots won't follow you up and will faceplant into the supporting pillars. (If it doesn't happen, restart the survival round and try again).This appears when I have both Navfixes and L4B2 installed, tomorrow I'll uninstall navfixes and see if only L4B2 will cause the same problem to figure out if it's an issue with NavFixes or the bots themselves.

I can confirm. Bots get stuck trying weird routes in Dead Air. They get stuck on random stuff in both official and custom campaigns.

With this mod, the bots get stuck REPEATEDLY on random stuff, not only in official campaigns, but also on custom campaigns

Would this conflict with other addons and/or custom campaigns? I decided to give Dark Carnival remix a try and while I'm used to the Left4Bots 1 bots being reliable enough I've had a number of team wipes before leaving the highway playing master difficulty hard 6 realism

@smilzo I appreciate both of the new nav "shortcuts", very cool! Is it possible to have the bots use the new shortcuts sometimes, not always? On The Parish finale, I would rather see them jump down onto the bus rather than climb down the ladder. So maybe 60% jump down on bus and 40% jump down on fence? Similar kind of thing for cola delivery, maybe 60% go around the fence and 40% jump on van to go over fence? There may be many ways to do that, like use the seconds from the clock (cheap random number generator) to decide whether to fix the nav. No big deal if it is too difficult to implement, but hope you like the idea.

ok that confused me lol. i noticed you added a fix for the dark carnival bridge nav issue i mentioned, but you didn't mention you fixed it in the patch notes so when i saw the bots path finding properly i just assumed that a random L4D2 update fixed it

@derzitadelle yes it will conflict with other nav addons. Maybe i can split this into multple addons, one for each campaign, but you will still have conflicting addons.

doesn't left 4 dead make you auto jump crouch though? like i swear when i jump up on something it is doing a crouch jump naively

@Bane i was wrong, they don't need to jump crouch for that shortcut, they don't even need it for the van shortcut on c1m2 so i added them. But beware, they f**k it up a lot lol.

@Smilzo I was talking about the fence on the finale of The Parish, map 5. I know on some servers bots could follow you over the fence when you drop down to the helicopter

as you can see, these 2 sections of the bridge nav are not connected properly, this results in the bots ALWAYS "jumping" onto the railing for a short while to pass it

if it is the automotion script then it seems broken, because the bots do indeed regroup there, but with them standing close to eachother they just do not continue no matter what unless i go past them a good distance or i do "together"

@Bane if i'm not mistaken that shortcut required you to jump crouch in order to get on top of the fence? Like the van shortcut in Dead Center 2 cola delivery. I don't think the bots can do that.

@Phoenix‎ Rose it is possible that it's the automation script that is causing that. If i remember correctly there is a regroup command on that bridge before the final lead so the bots need to stay there all together before they can proceed. Actually the nav issue is right before the bridge where the track ends, the map flow leads the bots to the right instead of the left towards the bridge, so i had to force them on the bridge with that regroup.

after the Dark Carnival Coaster event, after you turn off the coaster alarm and start walking across that mini "bridge" to reach the saferoom, there is a nav mesh that acts wonky to the point the survivor bots 98% of the time won't path find to the saferoom if the "automotion" is on, they get stuck about halfway on the bridge and will only follow after you personally walk past

perhaps a fix could be for that nav mesh there?

Really wish you could add a nav on ch5 of the Parish so that bots can use the fence shortcut onto the concrete barricades when jumping down to the helicopter. It always feels really unnatural that they cannot do that

Bots are stuck on Parish Chapter 5, refuses to cross the bridge unless you are incapacitated. They come and revive you and then immediately run back to the start.

Works well and survivors do a much better job at actually keeping up... until it doesn't and they get stuck on something they never had an issue navigating before. Which came up 6 or 7 different times throughout the official campaigns.

Which isn't a lot to be fair and it's nice to have otherwise, but that's still often enough that I'd rather just not have this installed.

Huh. It was only today that I learned this is not compatible with CB+. They won't jump on the crane nor would fall down on balcony. Oof.

there was a issues in passing chapter 1 before going upstair to the bar, where they just keep repeated in and out the bathroom. At first it was just rochelle but then nick and ellis decided to join her and repeat the same behavior. Can you fix the passing nav?

@Pluvillion I do not know if you mean Parish chapter 4 balcony jump or somewhere else, but the Parish chapter 4 balcony jump is fixed in latest version.

Excuse me smilzo, I have a contribution to this addon. It's related to The Parish, Map 4. Bots can't descend the balcony with the hole in it naturally, as they get stuck trying to jump to the other side of the balcony, but due to the navmesh they stop in place at the edge. I have the nav file with only that fixed if you'd like it.
