How do I increase the animated prop limit? Because it keeps displaying that message when I try to animate something?

yeah, prop_animated is from this addon, but compositeentities appears to be the composite bone tool addon, which looks like it overrides a default gmod function related to the crash.

these kinds of things can be false positives sometimes, but see if disabling that addon prevents the crash, it can't hurt to check.

Update on that on that, upon disabling everything except Animated Props, it works. So there's definitely a confliction somewhere.
Update on that, they don't become invisible, they seemingly cease to exist (they can't be interacted with via the physics gun, tool gun, or anything), and return upon reverting them, and even still are fucked up in some way.

Yeah I've been having the same problem. And for some reason, upon reverting it from an animated prop back into a ragdoll, it stops responding to the despawn command. (Z press)

Is it possible to make a model's face move/have a face expression during the animation? For example - have Demoman's face actually laugh during the laugh taunt and not be just a blank face

I'm having an issue that might be caused by a conflicting addon, but for some reason when I turn ragdolls into animated props and grab them with the phys gun they bug out and return to ragdoll form, and this didn't happen before until recently so im unsure if its something I got that is causing the problem or what, I haven't found what could be causing it

the animated prop limit is for multiplayer servers, so that players can't spam a hundred of the things and tank everyone's fps. the convar for it is "sbox_maxanimprops", but there should be a slider for it in the admin menu alongside all the standard sandbox limits.

ok found the issue, Npc Physical mod breaks this addon, maybe you should take a look at it and see what's causing it

Hi, I have such a problem. When I create a server to play with a friend, when I use your mod, the podels become invisible, but when I go to solitary, everything is fine. What should I do about it?:bbtcat:

that's definitely not supposed to happen, but i can't get it to occur on my end, so it seems like an issue on your side, most likely a bad interaction with another addon you have installed.

the easiest way i've found to sync up two props' animations is to use the duplicator to spawn them both at the same time.

no matter what I try to do, converting ragdolls to animated props just doesn't work no matter what I do, when I try to do it on npcs it kills them without anything happening, and the only thing so far that actually works are (surprise surprise) props...yes. is it an issue from my side or did something break

that's a bit vague, but i'll do my best

you should be able to adv bonemerge one of the animated models to the other, but with "merge matching bone by default" set to off . this way, all of the attached model's bones should still be animating by default, instead of being overridden to follow the other model.

if that doesn't work for whatever reason, you could try adv bonemerging both models to some innocuous 3rd model like a phx prop, which you could then turn invisible.

Im stuck on a VERY specific issue where I'm trying to make an animated model, but the issue is the model is separated into two parts, so if I bonemerge it with advanced bonemerge I can only really get one half animating. Not super sure what to do about it rn. Another part of the issue is that I have to use two different models to base the anims off of as well, so I need to find a way to get the two props merged, while keeping their animations.

anyone else getting one where the game crashes with a "curbtree overflow" error when you have too many or one for too long? is it just a 32 bit branch issue? i see the same problem for a lot of people in SFM who have too much stuff downloaded but nothing for this
