Maybe has something to do with the vehicle where they're stored?
Oh, good job sneaking into the tank!
Hope you enjoy rest of the campaign missions :)
I noticed that if I didn't order my men to board the helicopter it would just touch the ground and take off immediately - without waiting 30 seconds. It then flew east towards Lippe after which I heard several gunshots until there was an explosion - presumeably the Helicopter being shot down.
I actually did use the T-72 to wipe out the garrison there as well as the approaching QRF. I then took my sweet time to harvest any useful weapons there. However, the destroy objective marker on the T-72 compelled me. I thought the mission simply wouldn't proceed if I didn't destroy it. Now I know better. 😝
If you run to any other bug in trough this campaign, do let me know, and I can update it, once you complete it :] any other bugs before this mission?
Also be aware of slight clunky tanks in your next mission Combined Ops. There is not much I could do, the AI probably dont like the dirt roads on this map.
Aaand an easter egg I promised you. In the first mission, if you steal the T-72 and bring it back to castle and not destroy it, you can use it in the convoy ambush mission and one more :]
All you need to do is to 'Normalize' the sound files and it is EASY! This will set all audio files to be the 'same volume level', so, what you I and 'heard', will no longer be an issue.
Use a program called 'MP3Gain', and select the files, select 'Normalize', BAM! DONE!
That quick and that EASY!
This program is free (no sign-up, no nothing - just install and use) and has been around probably for 10+ years.
Link: https://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/
Lots of 'help' on the internet if needed too.
I SUSPECT you will have to convert the ?OGG? files into a MP3 format first, normalize, then convert back into the ?OGG? format.
Good luck!
:)
Yup, as stated. The audio from my point was not consistent - it was a 4-5 month project, and I am still learning.
I usually tried to state as many information to the task its self, or diary, or map indicators - so the player has to think a little bit. Not just waypoint go here, do this. But again, Im one man, one opinion, so I dont know where I over done it, or when its too easy :)
Thanks for the rating. It means a lot! I hope you enjoyed the missions.
And thanks for the heads up that it is in the last mission aswell. I will add trigger so it will end, and update it right away.
Once i have time, I can go over the whole campaign and improve the "dimmed map screens".
I have used the cheat when I came upon the 'dimmed map screen', however, at the last mission, this screen was at the end. So a 'cheat' literally will end the campaign as there is no more. So all I saw was: Dimmed map, use cheat, sitting back at Campaign selection screen. ;)
The audio:
I start at a cut scene where 'A' is talking to 'B' - level 9.
'B' replies to 'A' - level 2.
For the first few missions, I literally had to keep my hand on the volume control (at start) to adjust the volume as it was so bad.
Also, as stated, you need better 'directions' on what a player is to do. Use the map to display along using the chat window. At times, people will miss the text at the bottom. So things as using the diary function would help!
Missions (when I figured some of them out) were quite nice!
OVERALL, even with needing a little bit more polish, I give this a 'strong 7'/'weak 8'.
You have done good!
:)
But a great feedback, and if I would have time for Part III - maybe I would use the louder versions :]
And for the Meeting Slawa. It is the last mission of the Part II. I thought I added some end screen, but maybe ... whoopsies. I will do this, so it doesnt confuse the player. And if the only bugs were the map screen, than I suppose, well done soldier!!!! Damn, there are 15 missions and you already beat it!
I get the 'dimmed map screen', nothing happens, use the cheat, I get kicked back to ARMA's main screen.
I am sorry, I forgot which other mission 'hung' on the map screen. Using the cheat, I was able to 'move on' - Not on this mission.
:(
As I can not find any of the saved games, I can not tell you which mission, however, after many missions, I got that 3rd 'dim screen' and upon using the cheat, the game kicks me out as if the campaign was done (i.e., there was no other mission after this 'dimmed map' screen).
Also, the audio is 'all over the place' - 2 people talking; one is REAL loud and the other I can barely hear. The audio files need to be what is termed 'Normalized'. This will make all the audio levels the same. :)
Overall, well done! Does need some 'clean up' and well as pointers as what to do! 'Go here' and no other instructions makes it a tad hard....
:)
@Hudsane thanks! I really love the terrain and map, and I tried to make most of it! Also if you will read the diarys and see that the mission progression make sense also from map perspective. Glad you are enjoying the gun carry over system. It took alot of testing to get it fully working. Teaser for second mission - what would happen, if you would steal the Tank instead of destorying it? :) ))))
