Cold War Resistance Part 2

Description
This is War!

Continuing the story of David Armstrong and Viktor Troska after the events of soviet invasion on 21st August of 1986 on the land of Czechoslovakia near the Iron Curtain. Play the part 2, where you will ambush convoys, defend the border, infiltrate soviet camps as a spy, recon and lead an combined operations! Store and gather supplies, which can carry over to your next faction mission.

You don't have to necessarily play Part 1 to enjoy this campaign But a short summary is below, in the last mission in Part 1, David Armstrong got stuck on the east side of the Iron Curtain, meeting partisans leader Slawa and Viktor Troska. Joining Slawa RED tank platoon, David helped to liberate the city codenamed Modrava. This is just the beginning of the resistance!!!

"Cold War: Resistance" is a re-imagined version of the original ArmA 1 campaigns from Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis and it's expansion called Operation Flashpoint: Resistance, situated on the map of Gabreta made by the team behind ČSLA: Iron Curtain DLC. If you don´t own the DLC, you can watch the game-play on my YouTube.

It is inspired by the 21st August of 1968, when tanks of the former SSSR invaded ČSSR. In this alternate reality, a resistance formed from people who where not willing to give up their freedom easily. The war even caught up Viktor Troska who wanted after his years of service, just peace. On the other side of the Iron Curtain is Corporal David Armstrong, a NATO soldier, who is patiently waiting to come home.

All credit to the team that made the the ČSLA: Iron Curtain DLC, Cold War Crisis III, CWR3: Resistance Part 1 and Part 2 and Red Hammer Campaigns modders. The map "Gabreta" is really superb and it inspired me to create this reimagined or remastered versions of the original campaigns. In stead of two campaigns, I find a way and a filled out a story, that cross-over these two memorable campaigns into one single experience.

If there are any issues you run up, do let me know here, on steam, in the comments. Also my advice, just try to restart the game, its ArmA after wall, but that's why we loved it.
I have been playing these games from the beginning and it was my child dream to just re-create the original campaigns from scratch. After 20 years, I decided to fulfill this dream.

Difficutly and optional items:
- I highly recommend to play with Ghost recon 3rd person Camera by X5XFiRE for immersion!
- Difficulty settings: If you are playing on harder difficulty settings, turn ON the tasks waypoints so the modules will show you next tasks. Campaign was not tested without the task modules.
- Some mods, that dont even touch the AI can block the AI Go Prone mod. I highly recommend playing with this, so you are not supripsed by invisible laying down enemy.

BUG report for mission Night Ops :
So i am testing more scripting methods, and currenlty there is something broken in the land waypoint function :steamsad:. I am trying to fix it, will post update once I find solution.

Well, your last mission was the Saving Hostages as Resistance, where you also attacked the soviet camp? That missions saves ammo also from the ammo truck in the soviet camp (if you dont accidently destroy it), so its possible that truck had a lot of guns and ammos (and by default I think it has alot of ammunition). Otherwise the script is one line code, so I am not sure what could have happened, so most probably, just my gift to you :) so you have great Arsenal to equip your unit!

I think I found another bug! It seems like the Resistance weapons pool is multiplying itself between missions. I found out I had over a hundred of the same AK-74N GP-25:s each loaded with the same 24/30 magazine with six rounds shot. I had picked it up in one of the previous missions and it seems to be multiplying. I also had over a thousand 30-round 5.45mm bakelite magazines.

Maybe has something to do with the vehicle where they're stored?

I mean, there is specific trigger with delay for it to wait. I think the AI is just not happy because of the enemy AI. What you said I experienced once aswell that the Heli flied east, thats when I decided I need to add just general trigger for James get back home on foot.

Oh, good job sneaking into the tank!

Hope you enjoy rest of the campaign missions :)

I managed to complete the mission by simply humping all the way to Rockhausen - I mean, it was about as far away as Lippe was from the LZ, so why even take the helo at all? 😝

I noticed that if I didn't order my men to board the helicopter it would just touch the ground and take off immediately - without waiting 30 seconds. It then flew east towards Lippe after which I heard several gunshots until there was an explosion - presumeably the Helicopter being shot down.

@psifena(Ghost) The helicopter doesn't head off to Rockhausen. It flies east towards Lippe and hovers there until it gets shot down. Furthermore, upon landing at the LZ it turns off its engine. It takes a while for the rotors to spin up again giving the pursuing Spetsnaz horde ample time to pepper it to shreds. To make matters worse, the helicopter itself is an unarmed version without as much as a door gun.

I actually did use the T-72 to wipe out the garrison there as well as the approaching QRF. I then took my sweet time to harvest any useful weapons there. However, the destroy objective marker on the T-72 compelled me. I thought the mission simply wouldn't proceed if I didn't destroy it. Now I know better. 😝

hey @Hairysteed ... I remember this one, I made it really big, but maybe its not so diagonal. BUT the win condition is for you to get to the base, in case the HELI gets destroyed. It triggers in the small city that you defended the mission before (Rockhausen).

If you run to any other bug in trough this campaign, do let me know, and I can update it, once you complete it :] any other bugs before this mission?

Also be aware of slight clunky tanks in your next mission Combined Ops. There is not much I could do, the AI probably dont like the dirt roads on this map.

Aaand an easter egg I promised you. In the first mission, if you steal the T-72 and bring it back to castle and not destroy it, you can use it in the convoy ambush mission and one more :]

Hi, You might want to double-check the win conditions from the mission "Night Ops 'Malden' Airport". After having blown up the tanks, proceeded to LZ, fought off the incoming enemies, boarded the Blackhawk and it just kept flying to random places and hovering there until it eventually got shot down.

If any new subscribers are happy with the result, I would like to ask you for rating this mod. The rating is off, since 25 are positive, which is 86 %, but it gives the mod only 3 stars.
