Good job. Yep, that is mostly the intended solution. You managed to get the lasercube in a slightly better way than my solution originally meant to be, but given it is such a clever way of doing it, I consider that an approved solution. :)

Great puzzle with a mechanism I’ve never seen before, definite thumbs up: intended solution ?

Yeah, love how it turned out in the end though. :)

Ah, yeah that must be it, given that Ihaven't updated. :D

I know it's the style. It was an early complaint when the style was new and teamspen reduced the volume of that sound. Maybe in the version you're using it was back to the very loud noise again for some reason.
LPChip  [author] 24 Oct, 2014 @ 12:16pm
Thanks for your kind words Toncica. Glad it brought you this. I can't comment on the sound as its not within my control. To my knowledge, it is the same as "Access Granted". But maybe its a combination between using that style and the vanishing portals.
toncica 24 Oct, 2014 @ 6:17am
This one totally exceeded my expectations and I had to think hard for a while. It has to be the finest logic I've seen in your maps. The joke's on me for underestimating the puzzle part. Vanishing portals were an interesting twist but inconsistent in my case, maybe that behavior is changed by quick loading or contact with cubes. Fun puzzle to figure out, only the thunderous sound of lights going on and off was very distressing. I think the loudness got accidentally increased in your version. With headphones on it seemed to drill holes into my eardrums.

Thanks josepezdj, that means a lot to me. I'm glad you liked it so much.

AWESOME map! :D Very very good one LP! I don't know how you imagined this new mechanic but it's amazingly funny, mate! I got a bit annoyed a couple of times because of losing my portals, but nothing serious :P I thought for a moment that maybe if I exchanged my portals from position, blue where orange was and viceversa, I could keep it in the desired place, but noooo, the same one was erased all the time

I loved the puzzles you thought out with this idea, very much! So I REALLY hope to see more of this soon! ;)

Cheers!!

Thanks Stormsend. Glad you like it, and even more pleased you like the visuals of the map. Makes me even more want to continue building aesthetic chambers. :)

Very nice. That closing portal threw me at first. A great additional element. As usual I dallied around looking at the sights. Beautifully built. My real confusion began when I got past the orange funnel. I had to decide which cube went where to get to the exit. I replayed that section several times before it began to gel. This is a favorite. I guess because I consider it difficult but I managed to get it. And it looks great. Thank you for all the work. Enjoyed tremendously.

Hi Ivo, I didn't take into account any bugs or glitches regarding the mechanics. The puzzle is entirely solvable depending on the portals fizzling. In fact, in all my testing they fizzled. As for the faithplate, I am aware of it being possible to bypass, but if I publish the map now, a new version is created. This keeps me from updating this one.

Cool test, although I didn't understand the mechanic at first. I mean I read somewhere that TeamSpen has made a BEE2 element with which help your portals fizzle when you pass through them, but I at one point I found out that if you (or an object) pass through an orange portal, it doesn't fizzle. Does this have to happen? There's also that faith plate, which you can glitch by moving in mid-air and preventing it from catapulting you into the fizzler. not that it made the test easier or something, the trigger_catapult just does that if it doesn't launch the player fast enough (which is very often with the puzzlemaker). Not that hard as it might seem at first and it's quite fun. Thumbs up!

Not as difficult as it may seem, interesting concept.
LPChip  [author] 5 Oct, 2014 @ 6:32am
@Requiemsoul: Yes, that is not intended. Glad you tried it again, because the second time you did it intendedly. Glad you liked it.

@Talisac: You can do that, or you can approach it from another way which doesn't involve a fling at all. I added a savepoint just in case someone does try it and it fails. Glad you liked it.

@Prototype: Ah, it happened to me once and was unable to figure out why. I can't fix this though. Glad you liked the puzzle.
Prototype 5 Oct, 2014 @ 1:58am
I encountered a strange anomaly where entering one portal caused it to close, but travelling in the reverse direction by entering the other color portal would let me pass without either closing. Not entirely sure what caused it but I think it might have started when I carried a cube through a portal. It occured again when I reloaded the level to check, may not break the puzzle but it was definitely confusing when it first occurred. Other than that I liked the puzzle.
Talisac 4 Oct, 2014 @ 1:38pm
Nice test, this portal turning off idea is very well used and force us to think twice before throwing a cube throught a portal <<' Difficulty is ok, for me just above campain (a bit harder because of unusual concept, "circular" puzzle and map size). Only negative point I think is the jump over the small glass square (with reflector cube), you can chose between landing into or outside it, which is quite surprising the first time it happens ^^'
Requiemsoul 4 Oct, 2014 @ 12:12pm
Cool map but i think my solution is not intended. (jgaultney´s solution). Anyway, I´m going to play it again to find out the intended one.
Edit: I found out the intended one...I think. Destroy standard cube, open portal and Not lost the light bridge Well done. Very enjoyable.
LPChip  [author] 1 Oct, 2014 @ 1:07pm
:) Good to hear you didn't give up big red foot. This one is harder than my usual test, but there's nothing new from other tests other than the portal mechanics. :)
big red foot 1 Oct, 2014 @ 11:58am
All I can say is amazing you do not want to know how long it took me but I did not give up
LPChip  [author] 30 Sep, 2014 @ 9:19am
@jgaultney: glad you liked it. I tried preventing getting back up the and abuse it as much as I could. I still know a way to prevent it, but unfortunately, every time I make changes, a new map is created rather than the old one being updated. This prevents me from updating and fixing the map.
jgaultney 30 Sep, 2014 @ 8:43am
I've never seen that 'use a portal once' element before. It made for a very entertaining
puzzle. Thumbs up!! My solution was basically the same as Deathwishs except :
When returning up thru the orange funnel shaft via the faithplate, I could use
air-strafing to avoid the fizzler AND clear the glass wall in order to take the second
cube down to the lightbridge area.
LPChip  [author] 30 Sep, 2014 @ 6:47am
Thanks, both of you. :)
cyhborg 30 Sep, 2014 @ 6:46am
Interesting idea. Well done.

This definitely more complicated than your usual stuff. Good one!
