HI Phaneron! I'm working on quite a few mods at the moment, and seeking a texture artist. I adore your textures, and I've seen that you've worked on textures for others' mods. What's the best way to reach out to you for collaboration and/or comissioning?
0miner666 28 Aug @ 6:05am
@Phaneron I can see the reason for the tech being separated, it does probably make life a bit nicer for some of the medieval gamers, in the future i'll probably just accept that my storage is slightly ugly in the very beginning, thanks for the reply!
Phaneron  [author] 28 Aug @ 3:06am
@Ominer666
Hey I recommend just using dev mode to unlock them if it's an issue for you. They are locked behind research intetnionally, mainly so that peoply who want to play at a certain tech level can just exclude the more modern storage.
Unless you are starting with just one pawn you'll be able to unlock most of the buildings within the first hour of playing, even when playing as tribals.
0miner666 27 Aug @ 11:36pm
hey would it be possible to tie these buildings to base game researches or potentially making them default, currently it is a shame that I can't really utilise these from the start, any help would be appreciated!
bradson 26 Aug @ 1:21am
The DrawDynamicThings method of storage buildings draws their contents and not the building itself. Lag there is often caused by corpses with a patched pawn renderer, or other animated things in storage. You aren't gonna see the method take more than analyzer's minimum when only having static items or even nothing in storage
Maincrep 25 Aug @ 4:22pm
I've noticed something strange while using Dub's Performance Analyzer. This mod's storage containers are taking way more memory than Adaptive Ideology Storage's. For example, BasicStorageMediumCrate takes ~3.500 ms (Avg per Frame), while AIS's Freight B (being full of steel), takes only 0.300. The 4 storage units from this mod that I placed on the map are the Top 4 most performance hungry for some reason. Thanks
StuM91 15 Jul @ 10:46pm
@bradson thanks I'll check there.
bradson 15 Jul @ 7:32am
Adaptive Storage Framework's mod settings have a slider to customize that label display range. Nearly full zoom in is the vanilla default without camera mods
StuM91 15 Jul @ 7:00am
Is there a way to have the text saying what is in a crate visible from further out? Currently it's only visible if I zoom all the way in.
Akkarin 15 Jul @ 6:42am
This is an awesome mod, but i do wish there were more content based textures haha.
AmIDeadYet 12 Jul @ 5:43pm
i love this mod,but could you add a 1x1 fuel container? something that looks like and oil drum maybe?
Phaneron  [author] 12 Jul @ 6:01am
@Braincell
You don't, there are no content specific variations for the large crates. You can rotate them to get different textures, but they won't show what they store.
Braincell 12 Jul @ 4:09am
how do I make it so that the contents can be seen in the wooden 2x2 crates?
bradson 25 Jun @ 12:55pm
The packable containers and CE bugs mentioned in the description have also been fixed a while ago
bradson 25 Jun @ 12:53pm
Already does, from what I've seen
Andreas 25 Jun @ 12:40pm
Will this work in 1.6?
200 10 Jun @ 1:31am
would love somewhere to store clothes! good mod.
Coolchilion 25 May @ 6:06pm
Plans for a fridge?
loeufer 22 May @ 12:57am
Great vanilla-like texture work! One thing- insect meat shows as a red meat texture in the food barrels and sacks. My colonists don't like it.
Vanyor 19 May @ 9:07pm
Hello, thanks for your mod!
I'm having a strange issue, I think it's related to deep storage or similar mods that changes the amount of stacks per cell.

When using the metal crate, the "unique" texture is hidden under the "empty/ open" texture.
Not sure if it's a compatibility issue or just a known bug, I would love some help.
bradson 26 Apr @ 11:49am
@KANEM The RIMMSqol mod offers these kinda settings for all buildings
KANEM 26 Apr @ 10:27am
I really like this mod, but I want to know how to modify the storage capacity of the stone jars? I prefer stone jars to cloth bags for storing food. Also, I want to know how to modify the storage category of the wooden boxes. I want the wooden boxes to be able to store everything because I only subscribed to this storage mod. When I have too many clothes, I can only use the original storage tools.
The Blind One 15 Apr @ 3:28am
I just realized none of the storage items have a shadow configured for them 😓
Vagineer1 23 Mar @ 10:09am
Are there any storage units in this mod aside from the large cargo container that can be used to store body parts? Want to create a storage room for the hospital dedicated to meds and body parts but the cargo container is simply too large to look good in there.
Phaneron  [author] 21 Mar @ 6:37am
Thanks for mentioning the text. That's not supposed to be there. The shelf had different textures at some point, but I wasn't satisfied with how they looked. Must have forgotten to remove that part of the text before I updated the mod.
Teneksi 21 Mar @ 4:01am
aw! shucks. its description says it has content-specific textures... just a mistake in the text, then.

You're right though, it does its job. Easier for managing mixed / miscellaneous foodstuffs instead of building ever more barrels (i mean... i could also use mixed / miscellaneous foodstuffs in barrels as well but the textures are too good)
Phaneron  [author] 20 Mar @ 11:15pm
@Teneksi
The pantry shelf doesn't change textures. A bit lame, but it does its job.
Teneksi 20 Mar @ 9:26pm
What specific textures does the Pantry Shelf have? It says it's for foodstuffs and plant matter, but they still appear empty when containing corn or psychoid leaves.
Spongememe 12 Mar @ 11:26am
Hands-down my favorite storage mod! Balanced and pretty.
Arne 2 Mar @ 5:56am
Yes i found my problem, something in my game bugged and i could not use any materials already in storage for building.
bradson 26 Feb @ 8:54am
Buildings here have resources exposed exactly the same way as vanilla shelves do. If something doesn't work with them it'll have to be caused by something else that probably doesn't work with the 1.4+ vanilla shelves either
Arne 26 Feb @ 8:47am
Wood and blocks inside of my pots is used for crafting but when i try to build something it always says no ressources availeble.
klvlt 25 Jan @ 10:56am
I just ran a 1.4 game for test purposes and encountered an issue with the sack: You probably removed the old textures when you made the update to content-specific textures, but the 1.4 version needs them. It still has the "old" sack with the rotate-to-change textures.
Johnny 20 Jan @ 5:39am
Came here to say how awesome this mod is and that there is a weird bug that causes all your storage objects to visually shrink until game restart.
James 13 Jan @ 2:50am
Update to that - Fixed on game restart
James 12 Jan @ 4:14pm
@fodder
I've just had exactly the same issue.
Uninstalled a large pallet and now everythings shrunk or cut off weirdly
bradson 8 Jan @ 10:17pm
Shouldn't be breaking anything anyway. All it does is add a true to a value that would've already had true
bradson 8 Jan @ 10:15pm
The duplicate is a conflicting xpath patch with reel's storage fwiw. It may be solvable by just changing load order between the two mods
qux 8 Jan @ 11:26am
Hello, there is a problem with your patch :
XML error: Duplicate XML node name drawGUIOverlay in this XML block: <ThingDef ParentName="StorageShelfBase"><defName>ShelfSmall</defName>
Satori 4 Jan @ 5:15am
Dude, your storage mod is the best, I love how model changes depends on what you put in them
fodder 13 Dec, 2024 @ 8:51am
not sure if it's this mod or not. not entirely sure about cause. but i've had it once before that fixed itself on game load

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3383655014

anyway, a couple of large pallets were uninstalled not long before it happened and some storage pics shrunk... the last time it happened some shelves or pantries shrunk.. (in pic size)

mods used
- brrainz.harmony
- Ludeon.RimWorld
- adaptive.storage.framework
- phaneron.basic.storage
- klvlt.asf.medicinecrate
- klvlt.allstorageinoneplace

newest log was about 40 odd minutes before the shrinking..
fodder 6 Dec, 2024 @ 10:35pm
thanks. what stores "items", the category that is.. (artifacts, unfinished, etc) aside from the base bookcases and shelves
Phaneron  [author] 6 Dec, 2024 @ 4:19am
@fodder
Rotting and deterioration are different things in rw. Deteriotion is the damage caused by stuff being outside and not under a roof. Normal shelves have the same description and do the same thing. Rotting is seperate from that and no building in this mod prevents it.
fodder 5 Dec, 2024 @ 1:21pm
are corpses in meat hooks, medicines in crates meant to deteriorate or not? the description of the storage say they aren't, but the days till rot are counting down.
Phaneron  [author] 1 Dec, 2024 @ 9:29am
@Waosfifii
Try uninstalling and dowloading the mod again. Something like this is usually either a steam issue or something another mod does. If it's the latter one, I'd need more information to help you.
Waosfifii 30 Nov, 2024 @ 3:11pm
got a bug wich makes containers look really really smal, how do i fix it?
jonilgz 23 Nov, 2024 @ 10:50am
Vanilla expanded crops textures would be a nice adition
zParticle 13 Nov, 2024 @ 10:47am
Nice mod to make storage more aesthetic! Can you allow us to paint the stone block variant of the small wooden pallet? This would let us paint it to match the block type since that doesn't show automatically.
Phaneron  [author] 9 Nov, 2024 @ 1:06pm
As always let me know if you notice any issues, actual errors or just stuff you think should be different
Phaneron  [author] 9 Nov, 2024 @ 1:03pm
I also increased the storage capacity of buildings and did some balancing.

But… some of you seem to misunderstand my goal with this mod, or maybe I should have made it more clear. While this mod allows you to store stuff more efficiently than with just vanilla shelves, that isn’t really what I personally wanted when creating it. It’s mainly meant to give you more visually interesting ways to store items in a way that makes your base look better and is not just a room full of shelves.

If you still don't have enough storage space use OgreStack.
