two days ago, i was thinking 'should i ask the Decoholic modmaker for a version of shelves and similar, that is always empty so can place decor onto them and still use them?'
thank you for getting there before i even got around to asking :D
Thank you so much for enjoying my mod, and for the lovely suggestion! You're absolutely right - that feature is a perfect match for decorating with 3D placement. So… I’ve added it in the latest update! You’ll now find a new option called “Always Empty” in the selection menu. Give it a try and enjoy your decorating adventures even more!
Is there a possibility of empty shelf displays to be added? I really want to decorate my shelfs with extended 3d placement without having to empty the containers first
Thank you for the suggestion. In the latest version, this mod’s placement feature has been integrated with the vanilla Extended 3D Placement Tool. Since the mod you linked appears to support vanilla functionality, I believe they should be compatible—but please feel free to give it a try and see how it works on your end.
@Tony, @AlexFromKarelia, @Syn, @Edelweiss
It seems the issue was related to SteamCMD not updating Workshop mods properly on dedicated servers. Thanks to Syn and Edelweiss for sharing the fix—glad to hear it worked!
Thank you for the suggestion. Most props can actually be removed using a sledgehammer. While sledgehammers can be hard to come by, I believe that the challenge of finding one is part of the fun in Project Zomboid. I’d encourage you to give it a try through vanilla gameplay first.
@Codemonkey3
Thank you for the suggestion. This mod is designed to let users assign custom overlay sprites, but I see—you’re asking whether it would be possible to intentionally assign an "empty" or blank sprite instead. That’s an interesting idea. I’m not sure yet if it would be technically feasible, but I’ll add it to my list of things to explore in future updates.
Sorry for the late reply. I believe you’re referring to the error that occurred when picking up items in Build 42.4.0. That issue has already been fixed in version v1.13.2, so please check if it works for you now. If you still encounter any problems, feel free to report them in the bug report thread. Thanks!
@Kate Reller
Thank you! I’m really happy too—Vanilla’s new Extended 3D Placement Tool is a much more user-friendly feature overall. In fact, the latest version of this mod now extends and builds upon that vanilla functionality, so I hope you’ll give it a try!
@marshmallow justice
Thank you for the bug report, and I’m sorry for the late reply. This mod performs some rather unique processing, which can make it more prone to conflicts with other mods. Has the situation changed since then? If you’re still encountering the error, I’d really appreciate it if you could share more details in the bug report thread.
Thanks for the suggestion. While the priority for this is relatively low at the moment, improving the UI (including scroll support) is already on my to-do list. I appreciate your patience and understanding in the meantime.
@LumberingTroll
Since Build 42 added the Extended 3D Placement Tool, the position adjustment feature in this mod has been deprecated in the latest version and replaced with the vanilla functionality. So if you're looking for hotkey support, it would be best to request it directly from the official developers. Also, for Build 41, I only plan to apply bug fixes, not feature updates.
@fen
Sorry for the late reply. Since this mod forces overlay images onto furniture, it’s possible that the issue is caused by the mod itself. I’ve opened a bug report thread in the Discussions tab—if you could provide more details there, it would be greatly appreciated!
when I right click a bed with a boombox on it from true music. I have also seem some Decoholic-blamed errors pop up thru errormagnifier in my play session in other circumstances, but I can't remember exactly. In this code it also is blaming Auto Oven Disable, or at least mentioning it, but said error pops up in other circumstances too.
That said, I've been using the mod a handful of times to ensure it works and it has correctly changed display models. So not sure what's going on.
Yes, that one is a restriction at this time, as stated in the third section of “Known Issues”. It's difficult to solved and I'm continuing to work on a solution.
@Sir Richard Rose
Thanks for the report. I was aware of the problem of not being able to fully display the data when there are many targets, but I had not fixed it, mainly because it only occurred when in Debug mode. However, some walls (such as the wooden cabin you reported) could be reproduced without being in Debug mode.
However, since this is a rare case, I have decided not to fix this issue at this time. I will consider this issue, including the design of the selection screen, when any major changes are made.
Sorry for the inconvenience. It is a specification (this was the only way to solve another problem) that the items are re-placed internally when using the "Adjust Item Position" feature. Therefore, I have added an option in the sandbox options to limit the use of this feature. Although you will not be able to use this function, please consider turning this option off in order to prioritize server processing.
"By the way, how has this affected you? (I understand that items are targeted for deletion, but how is this different from normal placement?)"
Larger servers make use of the world item deletion feature to ensure it stays healthy, but placed items are specifically excluded from this (vanilla feature). This way, people can still decorate their bases, they just need to make sure they PLACE the item instead of dropping it. Using decoholic adjustments clears this flag, thus defeating the purpose of this (otherwise very good!) mod.
The context menu of the item (right-click on the item) is the target. The item must also be placed on the floor. If the menu still does not appear, please contact us for more information.
@Suicopatious
There is no mod functionality for this at this time. Also, there are no plans to support it at this time, as it would be a major departure from the vanilla implementation and settings, sorry.
@Klaarturo
Yes, no problem for Mid-save!
@Deathstar
Yes, there is a vanilla specification that if there are multiple items on the same tile, adjusting the position (height) of one item will reset the height of all other items as well. The solution to this problem is to take measures to reposition items other than the one that has been adjusted, which is the current specification. By the way, how has this affected you? (I understand that items are targeted for deletion, but how is this different from normal placement?)
Some players reported that using the Adjust Item Position feature clears the "placed" flag on world items. My server removes most dropped items regularly (as do most larger servers) and only placed items are safe - But it seems that using this mod's precision tools makes those items count as "dropped" again, thus making them subject to item removal.
There should be no problem with the feature to adjust the position of an item. However, rotation to any axis is technically impossible; only the Z axis can be rotated.
@Ban_Boric
Thanks for your report. You are right, it is hard to see the context menu when there are a lot of items. I considered turning it on and off in the options, but decided to take the measure of making it a sub-menu. How about this?
@Sig Axial
Yes, you are free to apply it to your server, for example, by putting it in a mod pack!
Thank you for your suggestions, it was supported in v1.10.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I could not resolve these issues described in the problem at this time, and it will take some time (or a change in the vanilla side implementation in a new build may lead to a solution) until it is resolved.
@Nertamia
That probably refers to the graphics that will be added in my other mod. Please check the my "Pump Pury" mod!
@squidbeef
Perhaps you are in debug mode? If you are in debug mode, the wall pattern is also a target for selection, which is why it behaves the way it does. However, since the number of selection targets is limited in normal play, I have not implemented a display that matches the number of selection targets at this time.
@Blåhaj
Thanks, nice idea, right? ;D
@〘aͥdaͣnͫ〙×͜×
Thank you!
isnt it
どういたしまして、わざわざ日本語でありがとう! Thank you :)
@Lantutay na Manok, @GamerOfGamers, @abo998
That's right. If we could rotate the other axes of the 3D object (X and Y axes), we would have a perfect interior, but this is technically impossible, and the only way at this point is to add another item with a different angle, like the Standing Mod. I tried pretty hard to look into a vanilla implementation, but I just couldn't do it, so I'll see if I can't find a chance to do it again in the next big build.

Thank you so much, I'm glad to help every zomboider :)
@mb
It's really boring to find nice decor items on your travels and bring them back with you, only to find that they have a different graphic when you display them! So, after having an abundance of unused decorations, it's finally time to put them all on display!
Thanks for the translation info, there is an Encoding issue, so I would appreciate it if you could register the file from the "Translation File Here" thread on Disscussion.
@CapitanReagan007
There are many excellent textures in the game! I'm glad you were able to help of them with this mod!
