two days ago, i was thinking 'should i ask the Decoholic modmaker for a version of shelves and similar, that is always empty so can place decor onto them and still use them?'
thank you for getting there before i even got around to asking :D
Thank you so much for enjoying my mod, and for the lovely suggestion! You're absolutely right - that feature is a perfect match for decorating with 3D placement. So… I’ve added it in the latest update! You’ll now find a new option called “Always Empty” in the selection menu. Give it a try and enjoy your decorating adventures even more!
Is there a possibility of empty shelf displays to be added? I really want to decorate my shelfs with extended 3d placement without having to empty the containers first
Thank you for the suggestion. In the latest version, this mod’s placement feature has been integrated with the vanilla Extended 3D Placement Tool. Since the mod you linked appears to support vanilla functionality, I believe they should be compatible—but please feel free to give it a try and see how it works on your end.
@Tony, @AlexFromKarelia, @Syn, @Edelweiss
It seems the issue was related to SteamCMD not updating Workshop mods properly on dedicated servers. Thanks to Syn and Edelweiss for sharing the fix—glad to hear it worked!
Thank you for the suggestion. Most props can actually be removed using a sledgehammer. While sledgehammers can be hard to come by, I believe that the challenge of finding one is part of the fun in Project Zomboid. I’d encourage you to give it a try through vanilla gameplay first.
@Codemonkey3
Thank you for the suggestion. This mod is designed to let users assign custom overlay sprites, but I see—you’re asking whether it would be possible to intentionally assign an "empty" or blank sprite instead. That’s an interesting idea. I’m not sure yet if it would be technically feasible, but I’ll add it to my list of things to explore in future updates.
Sorry for the late reply. I believe you’re referring to the error that occurred when picking up items in Build 42.4.0. That issue has already been fixed in version v1.13.2, so please check if it works for you now. If you still encounter any problems, feel free to report them in the bug report thread. Thanks!
@Kate Reller
Thank you! I’m really happy too—Vanilla’s new Extended 3D Placement Tool is a much more user-friendly feature overall. In fact, the latest version of this mod now extends and builds upon that vanilla functionality, so I hope you’ll give it a try!
@marshmallow justice
Thank you for the bug report, and I’m sorry for the late reply. This mod performs some rather unique processing, which can make it more prone to conflicts with other mods. Has the situation changed since then? If you’re still encountering the error, I’d really appreciate it if you could share more details in the bug report thread.
Thanks for the suggestion. While the priority for this is relatively low at the moment, improving the UI (including scroll support) is already on my to-do list. I appreciate your patience and understanding in the meantime.
@LumberingTroll
Since Build 42 added the Extended 3D Placement Tool, the position adjustment feature in this mod has been deprecated in the latest version and replaced with the vanilla functionality. So if you're looking for hotkey support, it would be best to request it directly from the official developers. Also, for Build 41, I only plan to apply bug fixes, not feature updates.
@fen
Sorry for the late reply. Since this mod forces overlay images onto furniture, it’s possible that the issue is caused by the mod itself. I’ve opened a bug report thread in the Discussions tab—if you could provide more details there, it would be greatly appreciated!
