I'm honestly disappointed that the protection rating for the Exosuit, a literal pilotable Mech, is only on par with an ordinary bulletproof vest that literally every rent-a-cop in every outpost wears.

70% gunshot wound resistance isn't much. It's also percentage based, rather than a flat number. This means every gun does AT LEAST 30% of its base damage to the player, and most guns will do more, as a lot of them have an armour penetration modifier.
