Hi! Can I mix vanilla sounds with your work 50/50?
gabbagool 27. juli kl. 0:57
pls update!
inkribbons7132 15. juli kl. 14:49
Yup, You just described me. except my hairline is ok. (for now) Killer mod, dude.
Reanu Keeves 2. juli kl. 5:37
This is awesome, works better than I imagined... Volume levels need a bit of a tweaking I think. Btw, think it would be possible to make a mod that add background sounds? Like in the streets on RE2 and RE3
Metal Izanagi 28. feb. kl. 18:51
The sounds sprinter zombies make are separate from regular zombie sounds as of B42, so it's likely that the soundbank was restructured.
Jc_Martin 3. feb. kl. 15:15
Cool stuff! Do you think there's any chance you could add the RE 1.5 zombie sounds in a possible update? Not sure were they can be found, but it would be a lovely detail if possible! :D
Zac 1. feb. kl. 9:51
hey man will this work on hosted servers ?
SPIRIT 27. dec. 2024 kl. 8:55
please update this :)
I deserve life 23. dec. 2024 kl. 21:12
I tried it in 42 build and all my sounds gone, so I assume its not working
BulbmanX  [ophavsmand] 23. dec. 2024 kl. 19:36
@I deserve life
Is it actually not working anymore or did you assume it would need an update for v42? I can't test myself because I haven't updated yet because I know better XD If it isn't working after updating it may need to simply be reinstalled, there's a good chance the ZomboidSound.bank file was replaced from updating
I deserve life 23. dec. 2024 kl. 19:24
Update please

Male zombie sound volume is perfect, female is very loud
Cody 15. nov. 2024 kl. 16:38
Mod is great, but I have a request - the volume for the female zombies is much louder compared to the male sounds. Could you by chance either add a slider for the sounds or go into Audacity or a similar program and tone them down?
fallsie 16. sep. 2024 kl. 19:32
i always hated how vanilla zombies scream is so annoying

Ahh, that may be it, just updated the mod btw
Some guy on the internet 2. sep. 2024 kl. 19:53
I actually do use shamblers as the main zombie type but yeah not sure. Might be because I have other mods that change zombie types, and those custom zombies are probably the ones I'm noticing. It's not every zombie just certain ones
BulbmanX  [ophavsmand] 2. sep. 2024 kl. 16:56
@Profile Name
Actually bud, I did think of one other possibility, are your zombies set to shamblers? All my testing is done on shambler speed and I recommend to use that speed as that's the one the mod is built around because that's the general speed of RE zombies. While the other speeds SHOULD work, I did replace the files for them, I haven't tested them thoroughly in game and they weren't the focus of the mod

Sorry to say you must be mistaken or something strange is happening on your end, I always test before updating and just tested it again after seeing your comment and all was ok. It would be virtually impossible to accidentally swap the male and female voices as doing so would mean extracting and renaming all the male file names to the female ones and vice versa than repacking the bank file, I didn't even touch the names on the update, just adjusted the volume. Sorry, I have no idea what's going on :(
Some guy on the internet 2. sep. 2024 kl. 6:35
Male zombies are using female sounds and vice versa.
BulbmanX  [ophavsmand] 29. aug. 2024 kl. 11:58
Newest update lowered/ equalized the volume of the zombies
Zaibatsu 29. aug. 2024 kl. 10:47
This has been my favorite zombie sound mod but I haven't updated it. What changed with the new update?
iLikePurple 5. aug. 2024 kl. 5:11
The sound of the zombies is very loud.
JOMBi 6. maj 2024 kl. 11:23
The SFX from Resident Evil 1 remake (aka REmake) are some of the best out there. Especially the zombie groans.

That game is still the high water mark in the series to me, and I'm sure you'd get some great material for this mod from it.
roman 4. maj 2024 kl. 15:08
Did you read the description?
BIGDAWG92 23. apr. 2024 kl. 18:15
it just dont work no sound
Taimanin_Alpha 12. apr. 2024 kl. 16:45
I like the idea of this mod, however upon proper installation & use, it sounds very erratic.
One zombie sounds like 7 due to the voice lines being picked at random, repeating in rapid succession nearly.
Understandable that the original RE games didnt have tons of variation, but I cant use this mod with the way it currently is.
JGibranS 17. mar. 2024 kl. 13:07
@fentSlave Add True music Resident Evil Save themes along with True music jukebox which will play records and tapes on a loop and you can make yourself a genuine Resident Evil Save room
Voldo 7. mar. 2024 kl. 9:06
nvm forgot you need to manually change sound files.
Voldo 7. mar. 2024 kl. 8:57
installed this mod, not working. verified steam files, installed this again, still vanilla zombie sounds :(
2ACW Boog Boy 1. mar. 2024 kl. 12:47
bro ive been wanting a zombies moan mod its more eerie to me then the growls.
Trooper_Daffy50 12. feb. 2024 kl. 20:20
@BulbmanX
If your looking for decent free software Audacity is pretty good and is open source and there are plenty of YouTube tutorials to help you out. For paid software I would say do some research on what you want out of it and choose based on that and affordability.
BulbmanX  [ophavsmand] 12. feb. 2024 kl. 20:07
@Daffy50
I didn't modify the original sounds, if you have a suggested program to use I'd be happy to give it a look at some point. Was gonna look into trying to equalize the volume on some of them.
Trooper_Daffy50 12. feb. 2024 kl. 19:51
Question out of curiosity were the sound clips run through any programs to assist in clearing up some of the old sound compression issues that were present in the initial releases or were these sounds straight cut source files?
SpaceD54 12. feb. 2024 kl. 18:08
Darn now i kinda want a mod where the graphics feel like a classic RE2/3 Silicon graphics cutscene style look lol
Kyivska 11. feb. 2024 kl. 17:03
@Bicky sensei Better Smashed Head sounds [more crunchy] I think it's a good replacement for the zombie splat / crunch sound.
Bicky sensei 11. feb. 2024 kl. 7:38
does it replace the "splat/ crunch" sound that zombie death make when you crunch their head? my girlfriend would like to play this game but she is really disgusted by that sound and i can't seem to find any proper replacement...
Halogen 11. feb. 2024 kl. 2:31
Actually cool mod but Im not Gen X/Millennial enough to understand the appeal of zombies moaning like people who ate bad sushi
Halogen 11. feb. 2024 kl. 2:30
@Puddings L take
BulbmanX  [ophavsmand] 10. feb. 2024 kl. 23:55
@Darkiiro Stikma
I used PSound to extract the sound files from the RE games, then used FMOD Bank Tools V1.4 to extract and rebuild the .bank files. You can find more in depth info online pretty easily
(Seeking)Eye 10. feb. 2024 kl. 22:58
...thanks for the reminder of those days. that noise unnerved the heck out of me when i first encountered it.
Brazilian Miku 10. feb. 2024 kl. 15:53
Thank you Bulbmax! I was doing it wrong, now it works. Thank you very much
BulbmanX  [ophavsmand] 10. feb. 2024 kl. 15:48
@Rian Cifer
Read the install directions more carefully, your zomboid mod folder has nothing to do with the install process

Sub and laike, outstanding job
Puddings 9. feb. 2024 kl. 21:48
The vanilla ingame music is SOOOOOOOOOO ANNOYING and doesn't really fit the game's atmosphere
MrSakBolls 9. feb. 2024 kl. 20:29
You should make a mod with the music from the original trilogy, it'll be perfect with this mod
xKilroyx 8. feb. 2024 kl. 10:46
Sweet liked and subbed.
Darkiiro Stikma 7. feb. 2024 kl. 21:34
:LeonRE4:
Bro, would you be so kind as to tell me what program you used to make the mod?
Since when did I want to make some RE sound mods but I don't know how to do them, and will you upload one for the music too?
BulbmanX  [ophavsmand] 7. feb. 2024 kl. 17:37
@Reaver
Thank you for the feedback! I mentioned in an earlier version of my description that RE 2 and 3 only have 3 female moans and one short hurt/ pain each, PZ has 8 sound variations of each zombie action, ie idle, attack, attack long, pushed, hurt etc. so just using the ones from 2 and 3 wasn't nearly enough variation. I did consider the background noises but thought would be too much to force everyone to use, might do a "+ atmosphere" version, idk. Trying to stick to zombie sounds mostly, might replace more of the other bird sounds with crows and/ or add the howling dogs from RE1. Will almost certainly add the skull crush sound for head stomps and might replace the eating sounds as well, using various RE gore sounds, might have to get creative with some BOW sounds, ie Birkin transforming

Also @GRWTH No mod, just custom sandbox zombies, ie group spacing, distance from "leader" etc
ReaverSP 7. feb. 2024 kl. 15:54
Good day!

Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis zombie sounds synchronize very well but, the other ones do not. Their sound quality and volume does not match, they sound off place. Having Resident Evil Outbreak File 1 and 2 in a separate mod would be better.
It would be nice to have the background zombie, crows and wind blow sounds as well as the zombie skull crush sound.
The first iteration CrazyTv's "RE2 Zombies Sounds" was great but, the next one let a lot to be desired. Glad to see you are taking the torch.
Let's hope for Warmacha's "Resident Evil Music Replacement".
