@Gl00ria - interesting. This mod modifies files that traffic density mods use, which happen to be a big feature in my mod. So the most I can do is see if the traffic-rules-spawn file needs updating again, which it probably does. Outside of that, I fear theres probably not a lot I can do. Maybe Ill look into creating a version of this mod without these files so people can use traffic density mods at some point

@Micheal the online gamer, can confirm. it crashes with cip's & un.nahbar's traffic mods.

i had to deep dive into my +600 mods in order to figure out the crash reason. I also created a completely new profile to test it one by one.

That tells me you likely have conflicting mods then, if its working for Raffi. I cant think of what else would be the issue

@Micheal the online gamer - oh yeah no I don't use map mods, and those aren't supported. Entirely a "use at your own risk" scenario. Too many exist for me to dare support them all, sorry. What I can tell you is map mods often have their own DEF files for trains, so you'd probably wanna go into the map mod's files and edit those, basically making your own little custom version. I did this for PM Canada a while back, though I don't use that anymore.

@Micheal the online gamer - "placing it above real traffic density makes it crash" yeah theres your issue, did you... not look at the *first* image in the lineup?

also check that you dont have conflicting mods or anything. The mod is working fine for me

yes sorry i didnt realise its still doing it lol and its not your mod i just never experienced trains just randomly slow and stop it was really frustrating at first but its amusing now it just happens in some parts of the map there is more than two that it happens some stop for a min and others dont bloody move at all xD

@Pr0xOblivi0n - where is this happening? there are certain locations where trains don't despawn, but instead stop. This works when the trains are short like SCS has them, but when they are long it can overlap into the playable area. Olympia and Everett are two cities that I know of. The description tells you my best solution for dealing with this issue.

@JSAVGA - yes, how its pictured in the mod is how I have it for it to work. I could go into detail, but the gist of it is, my mod needs to overwrite certain files in soundfixes for the longer trains to work, and if you're using traffic density, my mod modifies the file that traffic density also uses to do its shit, and so if you want longer trains and the benefits of traffic density, you gotta put traffic density above so it overwrites what my mod messes with. Again, could go into into detail but I dont feel like explaining mod file structure. As for that "official" load order thing, I've never followed that stuff, always went by what mod authors say and I've gotten by just fine.

This says between Real Traffic Density and Sound fixes, but the official load order has Sounds 2nd from top on the load order and Traffic/ AI mods more than half down the load order. This mod suggest breaking that order.

@Nator - no idea if its compatible or not, I don't use those mods. I would imagine its not though, but that's up for someone else to test as I'm not reworking a ton of crap inside this mod to make it compatible. That would remove a lot of core features to get it working with these traffic density mods.

I get at least a CTD with your and his mod when your mod is above his mod.
Most probably it's the same reason as for Real Traffic Density.

Is your mod compatible with More realisitic traffic?
His mod changes the train lenghtes too, but I think your mod is more advanced. I am not sure if your mod really works if it's beyond his mod.

@connoraltoncook - you're gonna need to elaborate further. How do you know its my mod doing this? The mod works fine for me, so you could have conflicting mods or your mods may not be in the correct load order (shown above).

ok i got the mod back and the first train i saw was an sd40-2 and it seemed to have been longer than normal so it looks like its working this time, knock on wood

@MoonBean - the chances of getting a long train are entirely up to the game. My mod does not specifically mess with the spawning, it only adds a config of realistic train configurations (manifest, coal, grainers, etc) for the game to choose from. I do not have odds, nor do I have a way to "raise" the chances. As I stated, the mod works fine for me and I see long and short trains about equally. As for adding custom models, I have stated that this is something I have no intention on doing. I do not know how to model, nor how to import models into this game as custom AI traffic. I also want this mod to be as simple so as to not make much conflict with other mods, hence why this is structured almost exactly like how the vanilla game handles trains, only with some edits and additions. You're welcome to learn yourself, I wont stop you - but yeah no. I'm not doing that, sorry

if i were you id rais the chances of getting long trains because im a train inthooseist and id love to see long trains, i also have an idea for you to make to, if you know how to scrach create mods you should make mow equipment that has a rare chance of driving down the tracks, i think that be cool if your down for it, id 100% download that

Yeah, I havent experienced any issues myself with the mod either. You might have conflicting mods, or you may not have the right load order, etc. Short trains do exist in the mod as well so you may just be getting violently unlucky with the spawning, though 15 trains in a row with no long ones is oddly suspicious I will say.

i dont understand i have all the mods it told me to get inorder for the mod to work corectly and so far nothing has changed, iv seen like 15 trains pass and none of them have changed at all, im a little frustraited because now i have this mod that doesnt even do anything so if anyone knows why im having trobole do you mind telling me pleas

I had this mod under sound fixes for months not knowing why it wasnt working and confused and then I re read this and realised why it didnt work. I put it over sound fixes and it works now. Thanks!

@DeltaTango529 - ultimately its something I would like, as being an avid railfan myself too, one-unit-wonder for all trains is a little odd. I am just not really sure how to go about it, especially with the the way the trains are setup ingame. Maybe one day, but for now I am not sure. Appreciate your kind words though, glad this mod is working out well. :)

As a railfan on the side, I have really enjoyed this mod - thanks for your continued work.
Have you considered having 2 locomotives at the head end of most trains, as that is more typical in the U.S.? Perhaps the fundamental game structure doesn't allow that.

Aye mate! Always a pleasure to chat with you! First of all, that's fantastic to hear! The mod working as intended should always be priority one! Super stoked to see what else you can add onto it to make it even better! I'll keep my hopes up for DPU's making an appearance some day! xP

I do hope finding a work around for those alternative liveries won't be too much of a headache for ya whenever you sit down to do it! Keep up the phenomenal work! ^^

@Jerry521 - Good to see you again! Glad the update is working for the most part. As for the liveries, I ended up just axe-ing those for now because 1.53 broke the textures and left hideous pink squares all over the trains that I couldn't figure out how to fix. I plan to add them into a separate mod eventually, but right now I feel its best if I polish this mod first.

Hey FE! Thanks for getting an update out for this amazing mod!!

Everything works like a charm, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting the AC44 & SD40 to spawn in with the more 'realistic' liveries, I took out all my mods besides this one to see if there could be a conflict somehow, but to no avail :C
