This mod is so waited for :D
I love it, if it is possible, it would be sick with a bigger Carthage aswell.
Carthage's proper size from this timeperiod that is.
Anyway thanks for the great work!

Its a very cool mod, but I have a question.
Why do Spain has no "bare chest unit (other than the naked fanatics)
Nor they have archers
Neither the Berserkers waere given to them in this mod (and a very similar mod) I mean, do Spain feels less loved? I feel its very neglected. They to deserves to have badass looking warriors with warpaint on them and at least archer warbands.

Please, give some love to this very underrated and ignored factions.
You did it for the Baltic peoples, which we have barely any records from classical sources, why not Spain? All European barbarians had very similar tribal clothing for war

7. While the Celts aren't exactly historically appropriate, what part of Rome TW is? The issue is the same as the Balts, unlike Britannia, the only way the Celts have to expand is into Britain, therefore usually getting steamrolled by the much more powerful Britannia.

8. The Illyrians are too powerful in my opinion, when historically they tended to stay around the Illyria area, raiding into their surrounding borders. They are essentially Thrace, but flipped, instead of a Hellenic Culture with barbarian influences, they are a Barbarian Culture with Hellenic influences, I love this, but even Thrace, who tends to traditionally fail to expand, but is never stomped on, gets absolutely stomped on by Illryia, however when in battle against the player, they seem to be weaker than Thrace due to their unit discipline.

thanks for coming to my TED talk

3. A minor issue with Greek navies, the ships on the Campaign map will be invisible, but not completely, their banners are still visible, so you can still see them.

4. Macedonia has always had a struggle for survival, but now with the added Greek factions and less land for Macedonia to expand to, its basically impossible for them to remain.

5. This mod makes minor changes to the Senate system in order to make it fit with the Greek factions, most notably adding more seats and changing the position names and character benefits. The issue with this is that it also overwrites the Roman Senate, so now Rome will have the Greek Senate positions instead of their own and original.

6. The Balts seem to be another Dacia, positioned in a similar area (North of Dacia) they tend to be destroyed quite early on when completely surrounded by more powerful factions.

2. The Greek Factions are weird, most of them fail to expand beyond their starting cities, they are too afraid to march through their allies lands, fail to have a sustainable economy to go to war, recognize that they have too many enemies due to the nature of the senate alliance, and are too afraid to attack larger factions, which is the case with most of them as they all start with 1 settlement, so they just kinda bumble around in their own lands, most of the time keeping their army outside of the city and letting it riot. Rhodes seems to expand most of the time, and on rare occasions Pergamon will replace Rhodes as the leading Eastern Greek Power. Massilia can sometimes expand, but they are sandwiched between the massive Gaul and Powerful Julii. Athens seems to lead in Greece, unless you play as Sparta, but they tend to fail to expand any further, and the other factions never seem to do a thing.

I Love this mod, the changes to the Barbarian factions, more in line with BI's added depth, make those factions feel much better to play as, as well as the added factions and independent Greek city-states it makes for a varied playthrough.

I have many issues however (that probably won't be fixed, so take this as a "before you download"). So many that this comment will be broken into 4 Parts due to the character limit, sorry.

1. Barbarians can now expand into Larger Settlements, but it seems that its purely for Economic sake as loading a Barbarian Large City or above in a Siege, defense, or city view will crash the game. This is my biggest issue so far, and could very well be specific to my machine.

Cool mod! Makes the campaign more enjoyable.
Two questions:

1. How to make greek ships fully visible?

2. I like to use the city viewer to look at the cities. I noticed that for the Greek cities (new factions), no people are walking around. Is this a bug, and can it fixed?
N1kko_Claus 22 Sep, 2024 @ 12:56pm
@ShadowCrystallux to fix the problem with ships, you need to edit descr_character
The Byzantine Emperor 22 May, 2024 @ 12:32pm
now i think i have all the ships showing
The Byzantine Emperor 22 May, 2024 @ 12:22pm
I got the greek ships showing now
ShadowCrystallux  [author] 22 May, 2024 @ 7:00am
Unfortunately not, it has been the bane of my existence since designing these mods :steamfacepalm:
The Byzantine Emperor 21 May, 2024 @ 9:51pm
any idea how to fix the missing ship textures for the greek city states ships?
ShadowCrystallux  [author] 22 Mar, 2024 @ 7:24am
No worries!
Pingu 22 Mar, 2024 @ 2:59am
Amazing, thanks for the quick response!
ShadowCrystallux  [author] 21 Mar, 2024 @ 8:03pm
Hey CenZ! I've integrated Danymok's mod into this one to avoid any mod conflicts, add the merc system for Syracuse, and rebalance units where I felt appropriate :steamhappy:
Pingu 21 Mar, 2024 @ 2:21pm
Can I use this mod alongside Danymok's Rosters? or is that mod allready integrated in this mod.
RamzikBay 3 Feb, 2024 @ 6:10am
"... There is no stern of the ship, only the sail remains" Perhaps there are problems with certain admiral textures?
Eric the Red 30 Jan, 2024 @ 5:33pm
@ShadowCrystallux could you make Rebels available in custom battles?
Lehy 28 Jan, 2024 @ 11:48am
Cheers for that! In the future maybe we will make different versions of our mod incorporating other popular mods. When it happens i'll let you know! Have a good one mate.
ShadowCrystallux  [author] 21 Jan, 2024 @ 9:12am
Hey there Lehy!

I'm not currently working on RTW mods a whole lot, you're more than welcome to incorporate whatever you want from this mod into Cultural Conquest or make a submod to make them compatible though :steamhappy:
Lehy 20 Jan, 2024 @ 6:40pm
Hey, since last we spoke I have become a dev of Cultural Conquest. What if we mish mash our mods? That would be cool.
ShadowCrystallux  [author] 17 Jan, 2024 @ 8:01am
Hi there @RamzikBay unfortunately this has been an ongoing issue for me across mods, I haven't found out where/how to fix it, hopefully will be able to fix it one day. Glad you're enjoying it though!
RamzikBay 17 Jan, 2024 @ 7:27am
Hello! This is a great mod! I really liked it, but I noticed that the 3D models of the fleet partially disappear. There is no stern of the ship, only the sail remains
StonerSaiyan 3 Jan, 2024 @ 3:30pm
cool mod! just wanted to say, greek hoplites could use some tweaks. morale should be higher and they should just get shield wall instead of "very long spears" but other than that. :)
ShadowCrystallux  [author] 30 Dec, 2023 @ 7:31am
Hey @smgunit02, the focus of the mod isn't historical, however, as there were many different tribes in Britannia, I felt like there was space for a second faction in this area, and the faction here represents the Celtic tribes that did not assimilate to the Romans after the Romans invaded. I originally considered having each faction being its own tribe (which would play better into historical accuracy), but decided to take a more generalised approach as it fit better with vanilla. Also makes a much more interesting start for both the Britons and Gauls imo :steamhappy:
smgunit02 30 Dec, 2023 @ 2:55am
Just curious, why do you have part of Britain being represented by the Gaels when those people would have been Brythonic like the rest of Britain?
ShadowCrystallux  [author] 25 Dec, 2023 @ 7:31am
Macedon still exists @br260454, but they now have arguably one of the harder starts due to being surrounded by an extra 3-4 potential enemies :steamhappy:

Hey @Master Zwerg, just to confirm are you playing in English? Unfortunately I don't have any localisation for other languages, but I have not been able to recreate this problem (but I know this crash happens with any languages on English only mods).

There's currently a sound bug with the Illyrians (and probably Balts & Celts) I'm trying to fix which causes a crash, hopefully will have that sorted tonight.
Master Zwerg 25 Dec, 2023 @ 12:55am
Hi there
My game keeps crashing when i use this mod because of "cant find athens faction at the string"
Could you fix that please?
br260454 24 Dec, 2023 @ 10:02pm
did you delete Macedon?
ShadowCrystallux  [author] 23 Dec, 2023 @ 10:05am
Thank you :steamhappy:
Darth Malgus 22 Dec, 2023 @ 1:48pm
if you ever update the mod to a larger map, I could always help give advice on province placement concerning the location of factions and anything else concerning historicity : )
Darth Malgus 22 Dec, 2023 @ 1:46pm
Thanks, man!! Great mod, I can't wait to see more updates
ShadowCrystallux  [author] 21 Dec, 2023 @ 8:36pm
Hi there ancient, hopefully down the track I'll have time to upload some more images from the mod :steamhappy: hopefully the map I've put up gives a pretty good idea of where they start out!
Darth Malgus 21 Dec, 2023 @ 2:24pm
could you add photos of the new factions to the steam page? like a map or something else?
