I adore the concept but I can't get behind the art direction, maybe if it was Engineer-building or Spytech themed but this retro-futuristic space-age style is rarely seen in-game outside of seasonal maps

This was (probably) made in the artstyle of Ratchet and Clank by the looks of it, which is a cool franchise but it is not tf2. If you want to make a robot in the style of tf2 theres a class that builds them, a gamebody full of robots and a pet cosmetic called RoBro 3000.
