Great mod - i think what opinion of the people - who live in dreamworld and don't know basics of human biology - not valid.

@Evyatar, keep up the good work. You know what you're doing, and I appreciate the drive toward a more diverse and stat accurate Rim. Same reason Bodies matter is an excelent mod as well.

Whats with the hate? This is most basic element of realism the game missing. No one is commenting does it work properly? Are the stats balanced? Anyone played it long enough?

This is the comment you get when someone thinks video game mechanics should model full population distributions instead of baseline tendencies. Yes, individual variation exists - that's what the RNG and traits are for. The mod just shifts the baseline to reflect documented group differences, same way the game abstracts everything else from "complex real-world phenomenon" into "number goes up/down."

Unless you want me to program a full bell curve generator for every stat, in which case I'll need your PhD thesis on implementing multivariate normal distributions in XML.

This is the mod you get when someone misunderstands statistics and think that means each individual is supposed to fit the median.

Would be cool if this had more compatibility with ideology, specifically about ideologies being able to configure what effects effect which gender.

As some ideas for additional content for this mod, I suddenly realized there might be interesting synergy with two other mods:

1. Dubs Bad Hygiene - This mod officially includes separate male/female bathroom functionality, so there are hygiene-related mood effects and special gender-based buffs/debuffs.
2. Rumor Has It... - This is about rumors and group dynamics, and I think having some gender-related connections would be quite interesting.

Just a spontaneous thought - hope you might find it interesting!

@androgene I wish all of my "kinks" had mods so I could enjoy my games without people crying about optional content they'll never touch. It's like walking into a restaurant, seeing a dish you don't like on the menu, and demanding they remove it so other people can't order it either. The whole point of modding is choice - use yours to keep scrolling.

If recognizing that men and women have different bodies is a "kink," then every gym, sports league, and medical textbook on the planet is apparently kinky as hell. This mod adds basic physical differences to a game where people already eat raw human meat, harvest organs, and turn raiders into hats. But sure, acknowledging that males have more muscle mass is where we draw the line on realism. Sounds like someone's got their own kink for ignoring biology when it's inconvenient.

I wish people could keep their kinks out of our games.

@Frostiken I plan in the next update maybe to look into changing the mental break evets so males will have higher chance for violent ones, while females will have a lowered chance

@Evyatar, Bru dont bother with the people who hate this mod because of their Ideology IRL. Its a cool mod which I personally love and I'm sure a lot of people do too. Just look at the downloads.

This mod is kind of a meme lowkey, the comments are what I would expect, this is only a mod.. Rimworld is a game that allows people to literally eat newborn babies, and you guys are arguing about how a male or female pawn should or should not behave.. Let people live out their Rimworld fantasies however they want, it's the point of the game.. Stop wasting your time getting heated over optional content my dudes. At the end of the day, we all love Rimworld, it is a great game, and regardless of if you agree or disagree with a mod and it's direction, we are all happy people in the community do create things to adjust our way of enjoying the game we all collectively love.

- Failed to find Verse.HediffDef named FemaleModifierDef. There are 663 defs of this type loaded.
- Failed to find RimWorld.StatDef named SM_BodySizeFactor. There are 317 defs of this type loaded
- Failed to find RimWorld.PreceptDef named AP_FemalePreceptOne. There are 529 defs of this type loaded.

@llunak Wired example that's completely unrelated to any of this, but ok. You asked how it was legally, you got the answer. If you don't want to port it that's fine. He most likely can't give you a license, because he isn't the original author, considering that he linked the original mod above.

@El lobo The problem is, I don't care what it is in the modding scene, I'm not just in the modding scene. Would you go to a country where something like sleeping with 8-year-olds were a grey area and nobody ever got sued, do it, and post about it on the net?

@llunak Legally speaking modding is already a grey area. That said there hasn't been a single case to my knowledge where someone was sued for porting a mod to a new version or modifying and re-releasing a mod. Legally speaking you also couldn't get more than a cease and desist letter, even if for some reason the author was going to sue you, which is not going to happen.

In the modding scene this behavior is usually fine, if the mod dev went dark, while not stated otherwise, and if you take it down on request from him.

@El lobo Maybe that's the intent, but AFAICS not legally. And I'm a professional software developer, so I do care.

@llunak As this is a port of another mod, I think it is safe to say that unless stated otherwise by the creator it can be ported.

I think only Redditors want to believe that thousands of years ago a cabal of women-hating incel men gathered to psychically transmit misogyny across thousands of miles to cultures they never met, when every ancient culture for all of history basically observed these same behaviors. There was once even a sex-segregated 'Survivor Island' show and the man island operated like a property society and on the woman island it was constant fighting, crying on the beach, hug circles, and they almost actually died multiple times because of the constant dysfunction. The women spent the first two days walking in circles because nobody could operate in a crisis. It's a pretty funny show.

To throw my fuel on the fire, in my experience having led many large, diverse teams of individuals (probably hundreds of people, in a very high-stress career)... women are much more likely to HAVE a mental break, but when MEN break, it's typically a much harder break. Honestly you can just watch tons of videos of cop bodycam footage and how female officers and male officers handle stressful situations. But suicide and drug abuse rates don't lie either, and I think that would be a happy medium. Your women are more likely to break down but have less harmful ones. Your men are less likely to break down but will have more violent ones.

In case you do not plan to update this for 1.6, could you please at least specify licence/permission so that somebody can continue this? Just including the source without a licence is not an automatic permission.
