Lol this thing is crazy. Gotta load this up again.
Reverend Revenant 8 Nov, 2014 @ 11:31pm
Wow that is a feat of engineering
Simply elegant!
Suicide_Jack 19 Sep, 2014 @ 3:54pm
why not a reload button in the magazin compartment that resets everything for you? would be a nice feature and notthat hard to do *g*
Prophet_01  [author] 19 Sep, 2014 @ 3:50pm
yeah i thought that ;) procedure remains the same
Suicide_Jack 19 Sep, 2014 @ 3:47pm
sorry i meant from the left side... the first magazin is the left one...
Prophet_01  [author] 19 Sep, 2014 @ 3:37pm
yep you have to turn off all sensors. reload and turn on the ones that are painted in yellow. good point though, I should make a short cut and a description
Suicide_Jack 19 Sep, 2014 @ 3:27pm
is there some kind of reset so that the magazin starts loading the bullets from the right side again?
Suicide_Jack 19 Sep, 2014 @ 3:25pm
the reload from the magazin works fine but reloading the magazin itself after all shots are fired proves to be somewhat dificult...
Prophet_01  [author] 19 Sep, 2014 @ 1:05pm
depends, which one do you use? the enclosed one shouldn't request any input from you. fire the cannon: press 1, 2, 3, 4. it should automate automatically after that. if it doesn't than i am missing something. pls tell me if thats the case
Suicide_Jack 19 Sep, 2014 @ 10:32am
a discription how to reload the magazin would be much needed. everytime i try the whole thing goes BOOOM.
Prophet_01  [author] 16 Sep, 2014 @ 12:45pm
u can copy paste it directly onto the ship. the block that u look at when pressing crtl+v is the block that will be "merged" onto the target when you copy it. So make sure to aim for the turrets platform when you hit copy.
merge blocks are indeed pretty destructive, although it helps a lot if you get everything as close as psosible to the final position before you activate the merge blocks. That reduces the effects a lot, but i don't know if that helps with such a big mass on a single motor. copy/paste directly onto the ship is the better alternative for sure

The gun is awesome, and I can't wait for further releases. But I've been trying to make a extremely large ship with a few (like 9 cannons) and I have been running Into problems with trying to attache it by merge blocks (so that if any take damage i could swap them out), and when it merges either the barrel and/or the internals break off or damaged byond repair. is their any way of attaching it that you know of that would help make merging go smoother?

Yep, recently this happened to me, too. Strange thing is that it did work when I tested it a couple of weeks ago. No idea what causes this but I build in additional sensors to make it failsafe, at least until the next issue arives :P It's just to complex to spot every bug from the start, but I try my best to fix those
Beast 13 Sep, 2014 @ 12:37pm
This is really really good man! Love the design, very inovative.

However, it doesnt seem to reload properly at all angles of fire. (this may have been mention before I didn't read all comments.) When I fired it at a flat 90 degree angle and tried to reload, the reloading arm rammed into the top of the inside of the barrell. Just wanted to let you know.

Great job though man! Really good.

man, I need to make an 8x8 version of this and cram it into the perfect spot for it on my cap ship (currently converting it into a drone command and supply ship haha)
Prophet_01  [author] 11 Sep, 2014 @ 1:20pm
The patch they just released put explosives back in action :D Severely nerved but they do damage again. Burst fire is now a lot more crutial against heavy targets, but thats just what this is designed for
Prophet_01  [author] 10 Sep, 2014 @ 1:52am
Thx^^
@azasel yep automatic reloading is possible and not even that difficult. I will use like 10 sensors within the reloading mechanism. Those will activate each other in a chain once u start the reloading. It will start on the left side of the magazin and will use that for reloading till it's empty. Then a sensor turns every sensor on the magazins left side off and activates the ones on the right. The reloading will now use the cartridges over there.
It's actually even a little bit more complex, but that should explain the basics.

Anyway, once I get that operational all the user has to do is press 2 buttons to reload. I could automate that too, but sensors still have a small bug when starting up a world. In order to avoid problems caused by that, I could either make it to press 2 butrons to reload or automate that so u only have to turn a single sensor on (to check if cartridge is in the cannon) before u use the turret. Haven't decided yet
Azu 9 Sep, 2014 @ 10:14pm
Can i use this monster in my ship?
Its possible to make this system automatic without shortcuts?
Laerrus 9 Sep, 2014 @ 10:01pm
You are a friggin mad man...

Was wondering if this was possible; and you sure made it amazing.

Very crazy and good work.
Prophet_01  [author] 9 Sep, 2014 @ 12:15pm
already have an experimental design with that. it also uses engines and gyros with overwrite to dodge turret fire. works great, but since explosives stoped well.... exploding.... there is no point in uploading it until I find a way to make it deal damage again. I am able to get 2 out of 3 cartridges undamaged through the defenses, but then they just impact and thats it. Small warheads are simply put the game's running gag and aren't effective
jlink005 9 Sep, 2014 @ 8:51am
Instead of an Antenna, use a Sensor in the cartridge to automatically disable Artificial Masses after leaving the vicinity of your ship.
Prophet_01  [author] 8 Sep, 2014 @ 11:25am
10 height and 17x17 base
Laurana 8 Sep, 2014 @ 11:22am
I've been looking around for something like this to fit as standard turrets on my current build. How big are the dimensions? Height, width and length?
Thanks :)
Prophet_01  [author] 8 Sep, 2014 @ 11:14am
yeah at least that still works
><///> (DabFish) 8 Sep, 2014 @ 11:07am
Inspiring!

Tryna build a 3x3x7 mining drone right now haha
gonna turn this into a drone launcher!
chillinflute 7 Sep, 2014 @ 8:46am
@70R4
Definately. Arron, get your ass over here!
Tora 7 Sep, 2014 @ 5:22am
I haven't had a chance to check this out yet (just subbed) but I think this deserves a good LSG or Panurga video of it in operation on a proper capital sized vessel. I think this design is too large for use in my current pet project (caldari command ship - Vulture/Nighthawk) which is on the workshop as I build it out. It has a length of 550 meters, but I'd have to be able to fit 7 of these for a proper fitment.

Have you checked out Voicesdark's mods? He has a 'maglock' in his package that is phenomenal, and might help you compact your design. This thing looks like a beast. Great work on this, first impressions tell me it's phenomenal.

Keep doing what you're doing man, this is good stuff.
Prophet_01  [author] 6 Sep, 2014 @ 3:10pm
Yeah I may have to learn how to do videos :P the design already is pretty complicated and it still needs some ammo to get through turret defenses. That may make it even more complex. That wall of text is not realy a good thing
Puppyguard 5 Sep, 2014 @ 6:39pm
This thing is so awesome!
I Love how it can reload at any angle.
Hivemind_Alpha 5 Sep, 2014 @ 4:43pm
Awesome! Needs a vid tho!
Lotu 4 Sep, 2014 @ 11:48am
hi I upload my revolver gravity gun prototype at my workshop, hope you like.
Prophet_01  [author] 4 Sep, 2014 @ 10:23am
Thx, I finally added the enclosed version aswell. Had to do it again, because I didn't save the first one when i hit that exit button yesterday.....

Anyway it's now available. I didn't bother to fill it with ammo. No need to drop the fps by adding those
Yaddah 3 Sep, 2014 @ 2:38pm
Cool desing bro. I might draw some inspiration from this as I'm currently trying to make a sleek and fully encased turret design. I hope we get full remotecontrol soon. How cool would it be to use this baby from within a battle bridge? :D
Prophet_01  [author] 3 Sep, 2014 @ 8:03am
oh and thx btw :D
Prophet_01  [author] 3 Sep, 2014 @ 8:02am
i used to make those thinks since early spring ;) I know what you are talking about. I tried A LOT of different concepts... most jusst took way too long to reload and were too complicted to be of any use. They also tend to damage themselves pretty badly. This is the result of about 2 weeks of planing and building after I finally figuered out how to do this
OmegaFenix 3 Sep, 2014 @ 7:40am
This looks pretty awesome dude. Going to check it out and may use it for my Defense platforms. back before pistons and power traveling through rotors I build a massive gravity canon but reloading was always an issue, keen to see how you solved that issue.
