@Tastic - That is a thing since the 4.0 update, It changed a lot of stuff in the code and such. The past versions of this mod looked at each Pop and then at their respective jobs to assign them a portrait. Now there are not more pops, There are pop groups—And pop groups can be assigned to multiple works. In essence, pops are now pop groups. Nothing i can do from my end.

not sure if this is a bug, but right now, The Planet Job Window only display the few same portrait for difference job as oppose to diverse selection of portrait in the past update.

@LefantisX Probably if you edit the files. I don't know if there is a trigger for that but it should be possible if such trigger were to exist.

Is there a way to make all authoritarian leaders wear cape? It's really pisses me off that in my imperial authority run my successor have a scientist portrait.

@Лесное хозяйство - That, unfortunately, seem to no longer be possibility. They changed the pop system so much that those triggers that used to change the appareances based on jobs don't work no more.
Oh, but if you meant that you wanted pop_groups to kind of work on a similar way... It may take a while for me to figure out how to code them properly since, well, pop groups must share a singular portrait and they work multiple jobs. It will be done eventually but don't expect it soon. Maybe in a month or two.
@Velosid I mean I was hoping to see the code required to divide portraits in 1 race by job types, so that different portraits could be used for different jobs. Like slaves of race X could use portraits X and rulers of race X could use portraits Y.

It simply has some parts that have to be reworked in the code since pops no longer exist.
Hello, hope u will write in mod description when your mod will be updated for 4.0 + Stellaris. Would be great to see the code needed to make this idea working.

@Cat-Lunatic - You got me writting the change note but... uh... basically the 4.0 broke pop triggers since pops were no longer a thing. I simply changed the "pop = {" to "pop_group = {". Now triggers work but most of my triggers don't since most were made for a single job type and since now pop groups work multiple job types... uhh... yeah, they default to worker portraits which is alright for now.

But yeah, i'll need to fix it later. You may read the change note idk.

Added some more portraits but don't really expect much more. I still haven't found a way to make the triggers for pops work on the new update, I feel like we will have to discard the idea for pops, sadly.

Unfortunately, as far as a i'm seeing, there is nothing i can do to change pop potraits. The triggers don't work and it would seem that genre (Male/female/whatever) triggers don't work even in vanilla. You can check this by chosing the commonwealth of man and seeing how, even if you choose to be a female only species, you'll get male portraits for pops which are the default.

It probably is just a paradox error but yeah... Nothing i can do at the moment.

Small update adding stuff before the 4.0 update.

Don't expect this mod to be compatible with the 4.0 version right away. Unlike other portrait mods, This has pop triggers which, with the 4.0 will change since, well, pops changed and the jobs, in the code, will likely be different. Expect me to take a day or two to update the mod.

Will also try to make an 'Achievement compatible' version but don't expect much since my time is short.

Personally, The automated method worked for me.

Second... Yeah, why not. I have a free day tomorrow so might as well work on this mod and an achievement compatible version.

I know you'll be working on fixing the mod for the update, is there a chance you could put together a achievement compatible one, replace the human and space elves?

Really like the mod use it exclusively for my play troughs but recently wanted to get some of those achievements and there are so few mods that are compatible, that i can find that work anyway.

I'm pretty sure this will break with the new 4.0 stellaris update so, if anyone is playing the beta with this mod, i would appreciate if they were to tell me what breaks. I don't have as much time to playtest anymore.

Just to make sure I understand, you are currently only updating when the mod becomes incompatible with a new version of Stellaris?

I'm hoping this is the case as my wife uses these for her portraits when we have our Stellaris weekends! We are definitely thinking of closing off from the world and playing again soon so I'm hoping this works with current Stellaris! Thanks for all your time and effort on your mods. I hope your current project is going well and is enjoyable for you to work on!

@Schishne - The portraits were changed for a few reasons, i've updated the description of this mod to explain it better. The new version can be found the end of the original mod's description or in the answer of the question up here.

Pretty sad that the old portraits got swapped out for different ones in this version, I got interested in this mod only because of those. Any interest in adding them back in an alt version of this mod or something?

Ironman should work but if what you seek is achievements then this might not be a mod for you. I used to have an achievement compatible version but i ended up not updating it after i did one of the mayor version updates. Currently this mod is kind of abandoned, Kind of. Might return to it when i finish working on my other stuff.

@Loveless1987 - Oh, this mod is not fully abandoned; it's just that i've been focusing on my anime mod. I come back from time to time to check if the mod still works and fix it if necessary, so in short i have this mod in maintenance mode. Will come back to add stuff to this mod once i'm finished filling all the portrait slots of the anime girl mod (I still have 14 slots to fill with anime girls).

I love me some pretty boys who also look cool and even dangerous. Finally, I look forward to whatever you come with in any additional species portraits you decide to add. I'm not fully sure how direct democracies work but I think that they can sometimes choose their election candidates from pops working in the empire. If it works the way I describe it, then, although very unlikely, you could potentially get a queen/king though having a direct democracy election, as ironic as there might sound.

I set the queen/king portraits to only be able to be selected from the start game but pops from the ruler class can algo get them

@Aphyxia - Uh... First time I hear about that. I don't think this mod has anything thst would cause that but will check when I get back home in a few days.

@Izlude-Tingel - Been thinking about it. that is a possibility but I might just revive the achievement compatible version.

I've been with a slight life-threatening (I've never been attacked by that many symptoms at once before) fever for 4-5 days. I am recovering now so I think I'll be back home in 2 days at most.

Wonder if you could make a version of this that doesn't add a race but replaces a races portrait, maybe it would prevent achievement issues as it would be only graphical or interface.

I dunno what else to say. If you search anime girls, there are 400 mods, but if you search anime guys there are zero results. At least you put a lot of effort into these portraits for both sexes. I thank your for that, truly.

@地獄に住んでいる - Unlikely, would need to learn how to make the animation and all of that + would probably take time that i do not rally have to make all different meshes for them (The images are a bit varied so i would, i think, need to make a lot of meshes which would, indeed, take time). Also because i normally play this mod along side my anime mod which is, well, just 2d images.
