As for why I tagged you Flare, I too used to believe that it was a hardcoded cap, but this mod allows you to bypass that cap. I do wonder why it took people so long to figure out how to bypass it though.

AFAIK a max weight of 50 is hard coded into the game meaning even if could technically hold 100 weight the game will never allow you to go over 50, and because its hard coded into the game its not been possible to mod it directly which is why you have weight mods with a 'negative weight' item.

a suggestion, with the maintenance ending, is it possible, hypothetically, for anyone trying to tackle this type of mod in the future, to just increase the weight multipliers for the character directly?

if possible that would fix all the problems you encountered, for example base weight capacity 10, plus 2 for each strength level instead of 1?

Aw, sad it wont be worked on further. I've been using this mod for months and its helped my loot goblin self so much lol. So, I thank you for the work you have done :)

Well damn, I was just about to ask when it was going to be compatible with fluids too. They don't get affected by the weight multiplier lol

IMPORTANT:

I am Stopping Maintaining this mod.
I have not played Project Zombiod in quite some time.

If someone wants to pick up this mod Feel free to do so.
if you do give me a shout so i can link people to the "new"/"continued" version of this mod.

currently it works nicely but it never got to the point where i wanted it to be:
A generalized weight reduction no matter where it came from and what type of item it is.

furniture, fishes and newly the fluid system threw wrenches at ths mod
im not good enough to fix all of this.

So in conclusion:

THIS MOD IS UP FOR ADOPTION.

i just tried it both ways: local muliplayer and dedicated server. still works nicely. its something on your end that goes wrong.

I cannot get it to apply to my multiplayer server no matter what I try... but in solo mode it works like a charm.

@拉丝 Water is handled deep in the hardcoded functions. its always set 1L = 1kg cant access that.

@云染墨色: The Fish submod is not active in build 42 be default because it is not working. Bobber.lua should not be executed at all. quote from mod description: "only the main mod is Avalible right now. the fish submod is broken and will need the api to be released before i can fix it.
The Fish mod WILL show up in your modlist but currently is just a empty placeholder so i can maintain Version 41 support."

@Rick_Rust : I fear that the 1L = 1Kg is hardcoded in. i searched trough the vanilla lua files but could not find where the weight of liquids is handled/defined. so its very likely that my mod wont be of help to you..... if any of you guys found the liquids weights in the lua let me know..

Nan error on characters weight and also start limping around when loading 0 weight fuel into old stoves/firepits etc. Interacting with the same objects that already have the 0 weight fuel loaded results in the same. Quitting back to main menu fixes it until interacting with said objects again. Does not happen if fuel has weight even at 0.01.

@Naustghoul : Yeah.. those damn fish gimme a hard time. i managed to fix it in b41 with some well placed lua overrides. but in b42 i am unable to locate the functions i need to mess with to get it working. they reworked that part of the game from the ground up. (and removed spear fishing in the process.. the best way to fish) The problem lies within that if we reduce the weight of fish it also reduces nutrients (cals carbs fat) and makes you unable to get slices (too small)

New Update! wasnt able to fix the fishies but i was able to locate the burn timers. now logs planks books etc will burn for the correct amount of time.

its like the reverse of a really fully loaded car (every inventory space filled to the brim) the car is heavier, accelerates slower steers heavier etc.

@Naustghoul Yeah i set the default to 0.5 (everything is half weight). About the changes to the car physics: its making the car parts ligther. so if your mod dosnt makes the car parts heavier again it wont change the outcome. (ligther car = more acceleration, quicker steering) the lower you go with the weight the more it has effect on the car.

So to address your issue of your mod making some wackyiness in the gameplayh, does BCP overwrite what you have done (if it is changes in the mod load order?)

@Tidurian is '0.5' the new default for this normally? Meaning that everything is already set to 'half-weight' when we put this into effect. Or is '0.5' the new '1' meaning that is the base line. Just needed clarity, since the description says one thing and the images say another.

Can not seem to get this mod to work in a server on B41. Trying to steer clear of B42 till it goes stable so I'm still in B41. The mod works fine in a solo game but once I try to load it in a server it keeps prompting me to download it in the mod list upon server boot up. It downloads and installs but then wont finish boot up. Hoping for some help here.
