Just popping by to mention I finished a full run of the game using this (with the one expansion mod that changes your Witch), and I loved it overall. My Final setup was a Summoner/Wizard, Samurai/Fencer, Ninja/Fencer, and Valkyrie/Devout (devout from another mod), and it was an extremely powerful team.

Just one slightly odd thing: I mastered Warlock and Summoner, but for whatever reason they didn't pop their Steam Achievements. Really minor and I'm not too worried but thought I'd mention it just in case it's this (it might not be).

Regardless, fabulous work.

Hello, I really love your MOD, and I would like to make Chinese localization for it (andsome other excellent mods) then share it with the Chinese community. Unfortunately,it seems that due to limitation of the localization MOD, I cannot create an add-on MOD, but can only edit your MOD contents and release a independent rebuilt localized version. Therefore, I think i should ask for your permission before i starting work:lunar2019piginablanket: TY!

I made a tweaked version here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3299381979
If Phoenix doesn't want me to post it in the comments i'll happily delete it.

Even the first skill change in screenshot screams horribly imbalanced and "make you op", turning a high dmg skill like fire, into higher dmg, shorter cooldown, and an added bonus of 30% more damage for 3 turns is insane. I was hesitant at first since the developer of crystal project worked really hard on fine tuning balance, what new skill changes would do to that balance but now i'm certain that this is a deliberately misleading mod. it is not vanilla+ its and op overhaul.

I think your effort and ideas are good. but your purposeful act of being misleading and click baity is terrible.
Netho Warrior 19 Jul, 2024 @ 10:21pm
not a vanilla plus mod, it's almost deliberately misleading
Windless Bear 18 Jul, 2024 @ 11:27pm
I really like your ideas, and I appreciate the effort you've put in, but this mod isn't balanced well.
Why do so many abilities scale off so many stats? Why are my cleric's spells scaling off her Attack stat? That's bizarre to me, and it makes weapon choice a little uncomfortable.

Again, you've done a lot of work here and I think that's awesome, but it doesn't work for me personally. Thanks though.
Chirality 2 Jun, 2024 @ 12:58pm
This mod makes you orders of magnitude stronger than vanilla with little to no effort. Not a bad mod if you want to feel overpowered, however if you're looking for something to mix things up while being on the closer side to vanilla, this isn't going to do it for you.
Quothe 17 May, 2024 @ 2:56pm
Fantastic mod, thanks for the work you put into it!
Omega Battle 15 May, 2024 @ 5:31pm
not working?
Greed 28 Mar, 2024 @ 1:55pm
Does this disable achievments?

@Parker This is a limitation of Crystal Project's Engine. All life gaining skills label themselves as Lifesteal. If you look at the tooltip, it should say that the lift gaining skills convert life to Max HP. Not restore current HP.
Parker 17 Feb, 2024 @ 1:33pm
life sap on death knight doesn't seem to actually lifesteal.

great job!

I will not turn off skill weapon restrictions as it breaks my design principles. I'm open to balancing concerns that you want addressed, but if you want something that extreme but still want the gameplay of Apotheosis, I suggest you edit the mod to your specifications.

Crystal Edit, the modding software we all use, is bundled with the game in your directory. Delete the weapon restrictions for each skill and then save. Move the saved json file into your saved games folder as directed on the ModDB page and enable your tweaked mod.
Xubin 19 Jan, 2024 @ 5:09am
Can u please turn off weapon restrict skills? im in love with ur mod but i really like to play mixed comps
It's Phoenix!  [author] 17 Jan, 2024 @ 10:43am
@RaferReach Yes. That's the plan anyways.
Xubin 16 Jan, 2024 @ 3:37pm
Does this make all the classes viable? i really love this game already did 2 runs but for real most classes feels so bad =/

nateraade 29 Dec, 2023 @ 11:46pm
Awesome. I'm just not really thrilled by a lot of the vanilla jobs or job skills since there's often not much variety, so I'm looking for something more interesting and varied. This looks to be it! So thank you. :)
It's Phoenix!  [author] 29 Dec, 2023 @ 7:36am
@nateraade If you turn the mod off mid playthrough it *shouldn't* break anything. Apotheosis doesn't add items or game states. The strangest behavior I can think of would maybe be a bug that'll crash you when exiting to title. That being said I do not encourage uninstalling (or installing) mods mid playthrough and can't vouch for things that may happen to you.

And no, mods do not disable achievements afaik.
nateraade 29 Dec, 2023 @ 6:06am
And mods aren't known to disable Steam Achievements for Crystal Project, right?
nateraade 29 Dec, 2023 @ 6:05am
Hey, this looks cool! I'll be trying this out, but if it ends up not being a fit for me, how well does this mod uninstall? Will I have to roll back to a save from before using the mod?
It's Phoenix!  [author] 14 Dec, 2023 @ 6:57pm
Good stuff. You can get my project files from the moddb link and dig through/modify at your leisure.
Xenon 14 Dec, 2023 @ 5:38pm
Oh that sounds delightful I'll be sure to give that a try.
Also I'm trying out the modding tool, seems pretty interesting, maybe I can try out tweaks of my own and test them on the go before I come up with suggestions or smth.
It's Phoenix!  [author] 14 Dec, 2023 @ 5:10pm
*mainly because I got unlucky chest randoms too.
It's Phoenix!  [author] 14 Dec, 2023 @ 5:09pm
@Xenon Yeah it works. It can be a bit of a pain in the ass if you get really unlucky though. My last Randomizer run I started out with Time Weaver, Dervish, Berserker, Seasworn, Wizard and Warlock. I struggled with that even after I got my first boss crystal.
Xenon 14 Dec, 2023 @ 5:05pm
Does this mod work fine with chaos mode and randomizer options? I beat my first run and I'm looking to spice it up.
It's Phoenix!  [author] 12 Dec, 2023 @ 11:22am
Glad you're enjoying it! :flowey:
King Joshington 12 Dec, 2023 @ 7:05am
Just wanted to say that your mod has convinced me to make a dip back into the game after almost a year. You've really spiced it up while keEping the same flavor!
It's Phoenix!  [author] 11 Dec, 2023 @ 11:30am
That's right, higher tiers are restricted to specific weapons.
Xenon 11 Dec, 2023 @ 11:15am
Thank you! I'll test the changes right away. I'll let you know if I come across anything else.
On a side note, are the higher tier magic spells from Wizard restricted to magic weapons? Not an issue but I wanted to make sure that's how it works.
It's Phoenix!  [author] 11 Dec, 2023 @ 5:26am
We'll sit on that change in particular for now. If I get more feedback about it then we'll make a jump. Thanks for your input though. I've made a couple other changes based on your reports in #Bugs. If you notice anything else, don't be shy!
Xenon 10 Dec, 2023 @ 6:28pm
I don't have much experience yet so I can't say for sure, but I found myself dropping Shank very early on as I subclassed to fencer. If there's very little basic attacks with restrictions then it's probably not an issue. Having a lot of fun with the mod so far though!
It's Phoenix!  [author] 10 Dec, 2023 @ 2:32am
@Taedirk That's sad to hear. The main reason I have for the Calligraphy skill's existence is that I don't want players to have scroll anxiety. I wanted a permanent solution to add them into your inventory other than buying them. I have a different way to fix that issue but it's outside the scope of this mod in particular.

But the temp scroll thing *does* give me an idea I might build into the Ninja's kit. Gotta think about it more.
It's Phoenix!  [author] 10 Dec, 2023 @ 2:28am
@Xenon I am relying on the player's inherit belief that you wouldn't *Shank* someone with a Rapier to do all of the heavy lifting since I can't change the basic attack display.

If I were to add a description to Shank that says "Can only be used with Daggers" that would fix your problem but then I'd need to standardize that. And I can't think of any other basic attacks that would need that standard. Warriors can use all weapons, Monk can ONLY use Staff and Fist so you wouldn't ever need to guess why your basic attack isn't working. Warlock can use more than a Rapier but you wouldn't have the belief that you could do a Flicker Strike with a Wand. So it would be clumsy for me to add a desc there too. It doesn't seem like the right choice to me.

So what I CAN do for you instead is rework *Shank* into a basic attack that can also be used with a Rapier. But my major question for you is if you REALLY think I should. Would you find more fun/build variety if I made that change?
Xenon 9 Dec, 2023 @ 6:17pm
@Taedirk I see thanks for the info, hoping for the best.
Taedirk 9 Dec, 2023 @ 5:36pm
@Xenon Engine limitation because of the "basic" attack flag that lets them generate AP. Originally not intended to be used with weapon-restriction skills. Mentioned it in the bug report discord and they said it could probably be fixed.
Xenon 9 Dec, 2023 @ 3:25pm
Would it be possible to change some skill descriptions (like Shank) to specify the weapon restrictions like the other skills?
Taedirk 9 Dec, 2023 @ 11:49am
It won't create new scrolls if you have none (either from spending them all in combat or starting combat with zero), but it will generate new scrolls that are immediately usable otherwise. Possibly re-flavor as a "duplicate scroll" skill?
It's Phoenix!  [author] 9 Dec, 2023 @ 9:36am
@Taedirk Really??? Ok, I'll do some testing and balancing for it. If everything checks out, you can expect Ninja's cancelled skill to be included in the next update. Thanks for shouting this out. I wouldn't have thought to check again otherwise.
Taedirk 9 Dec, 2023 @ 8:13am
Calligraphy for Ninja looks to be working with the newest update.
It's Phoenix!  [author] 21 Nov, 2023 @ 6:30pm
@Battlemage Azulio Good find. That's actually a bug. Lesser Shaku should be unlocked by default.
Battlemage Azulio 21 Nov, 2023 @ 7:18am
Looks like there's one more summon than normal! Where/what would that be, I wonder?
It's Phoenix!  [author] 7 Nov, 2023 @ 1:19am
If you disable every other mod, and Apotheosis still isn't working, come into the Bugs thread. We can hash out the details there and see what can be done.
It's Phoenix!  [author] 6 Nov, 2023 @ 10:53pm
@gszaf2 Every class except mimic has been overhauled. If the mod is on and you aren't seeing changes, it's likely that one of your other mods is overwriting Apotheosis. Even if a mod says it adds new classes, it doesn't necessarily mean they didn't touch the vanilla classes.
gszaf2 6 Nov, 2023 @ 2:34pm
Were most of the first classes unchanged? I am trying to confirm this installed properly with some new class mods I installed and I am not seeing any differences between the wiki for the base classes and the ones in my new save file. Also, look forward to playing through this, thanks!
thankyoumister 3 Nov, 2023 @ 8:54pm
I've been itching to replay Crystal Project. Will definitely be trying out a new playthrough with this mod.
