W I've been using the workaround for B42, love this mod

Updated mod, should work with B42 unstable now as well. Tested with 42.11.0

Eating Plonkies will only remove zombie virus. You still need to wait for your bite to heal

hm... it was day 2 of my infection... i just got bitten again and i ate a plonkie right away - does the bitten stay on the character and they just don't get infected?

If you have any other mods which changes eating or foods in any way, it might not work. Other thing might be language. If you don't have English language in Zomboid and Plonkies name is different in that language, mod might not work. I'm pretty sure it uses item name rather than item ID. Can't remember anymore. Lastly. You might get queasy from some other thing. Maybe you don't have zombie virus but something else. We haven't tested/used this mod in quite a long time so don't really know if things work or not.

Just put this in an active save and i still got queazy... does the mod have to be in the save from the start?

@Saamis I don't blame you for holding off on updating this mod for the unstable B42. I'll certainly note the link you posted on other mods.

@Krilton, It seems like they changed folder structure for B42. I was able to test the mod and it works on B42. Only did a quick test though so there might be bugs.

We don't feel comfortable to update the mod for experimental in case it breaks stable branch build somehow.

If you really want this mod to work on experimental you can follow this guide to get your mod working on experimental.

@Saamis I opted in for B42 unstable and this mod is not there. Something has changed between B41 & B42 were old mods don't show. I even unsubscribed and moved this to the "zomboid" folder as if it was being tested, it wasn't even there. Just a heads up.

@Saamis, I look forward to it! I found a crashed Plonkie delivery truck that had them scattered about and immediately thought of this. Fingers crossed that I will see this mod again soon!

@Loot Bukkake, We don't see any reason why it wouldn't work in B42. Currently we have no plans for update but this might change in future

G-Portal is a server rental service. I got the mod to work and it's great! I put it first in the mod list and that did it. Thanks for making this, it's exactly what we were looking for.

@SV-T420 The Captain, No idea what is G-Portal. After eating plonkie your character should say either something like "Waste of plonkie" if you didn't have zombie virus or "I feel cured". I think... I haven't played with this mod in a long time.

1. Some people have had issues if their game is not in English.
2. Make sure you have mod active.
3. If you have other mods that change eating somehow, this mod might not work.

I'm trying to get this working on G-Portal. I think I have it because I see the OverrideEating.lua in my server files, BUT, I was looking at the lua and it says your character will say something after eating a plonkie? I ate a plonkie and watched, but he never said anything?
I'd just wait and see if it works but I don't want this dude to die lol.

i mean does it get rid of the bitten status in the injury ui, when i used this other cure mod it kept the status of being bitten but im cured

@Tekuila Do you mean giving yourself plonkies? You have to eat the plonkie to cure the zombie virus. Plonkies will only remove zombie infection, they will not remove any other injuries. If you got bitten, the bite will stay until it's healed.

does giving yourself the cure get rid of the injury or it stays in your health

@Pierogi Inhaler Plonkies won't go bad. If you have mod that changes plonkies, then I don't think it will work

nah its in english but i realised it didnt enable the mod for my solo world

@Psychic Popcorn Man if your game is not in English, the mod might not work. Mod needs some fixing but we have been busy with life

It might only work for people who has the game in English. We are still looking into fixing this problem

@Pabloc58 We found the problem and we are looking into it. Will update if we manage to fix it or not. Right now it seems the mod only works if player uses English language.

just FYI, not working on Spanish. After 1 hour twisting I only had to change settings to English to make it work. Nice mod :) thanks.

It cures current zombie infection. If you get bit after eating one, you need to eat another one to cure the new zombie infection.

If I remember correctly, you can eat just some of it and it will cure you.

One question i have is if you must eat the ENTIRE plonkie, can i eat 1/2?

Not sure. All injuries have kind of timer until they disappear. I would imagine bite would heal in 3-7 in game days. Just guessing though.

how long does the bitten status stay on for before going away?

Plonkies are vanilla item and you can find them from their normal places. Stores, gas stations and pharmacies.
