Issue 2: the honeycomb texture needs some reworking, I agree with Lovecraft, Feesh and Towel on that. However, I don't think you need to completely change it. You could have a simplified yellow honeycomb, similar to the pattern on hypergon.
Aside from those 2 points, I like the idea and I think it has potential
Besides that, the yellow part of the fuzz is somewhat too bright, make it more inline with the color of the honeycombs, if that was done it'd make the orangish accent texture pop a lot more. Also make the black match the brown of the fuzz also so the coloration is more interconnected
