@hamletsdead, yes, each partner is chosen randomly, but there are several restrictions in place to make the pairings more reasonable. For example, the courtiers of similar age with compatible traits are more likely to marry each other, while rivals never do so.
hamletsdead 15 Oct @ 9:52am
Great idea, can't tell you how tired I am of matchmaking when I've got literally 100s of courtiers. Is the matchup random?
Nider001  [author] 3 Aug @ 1:16pm
@finallyciv, these two should be compatible according to their descriptions. The first appears to only affect the marriage interaction used by AI rulers, which my mod does not cover. The second only applies to 6+ year old children, so my mod takes priority. Again, this is just speculation and actual testing is required to say for sure.

What about compatibility with Better Marriage AI and Education Automation?
Nider001  [author] 25 Jul @ 2:01pm
@dpmx1131, it should not. This mod only handles marriage and guardianships, which have nothing to do with court positions
dpmx1131 25 Jul @ 1:51pm
does this break the auto assign court position cog that paradox added? noticed that even when i have auto assign on nothing happens.
Nider001  [author] 18 Jul @ 10:16pm
@teodovian, this mod does not affect landed characters as they already have AI logic for marriage.
teodovian 18 Jul @ 5:20pm
Please make landed women noble marry matriarchal
Nider001  [author] 15 Jul @ 8:04am
@Samuel L, looks like the mod you linked only triggers for children at the age of 6 or older, so mine should take priority.
Samuel L 14 Jul @ 7:42pm
will running it with this cause funny problems?:

Yeah... I'm having lag issues on my PC withg a AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D.... although, this is with quite a several other mods... but this one when turned off makes it noticably less bad... seemingly... idk, definitely probably doens't help I'm ruunning lotsa other mods, ahah...
Nider001  [author] 14 Jul @ 6:50am
@Samuel L, indeed it does. The performance impact is not as bad as it may seem though. My previous PC had lower-end components (1060 6gb GPU, i5-6500 CPU, 16gb RAM) and the slowdown hadn't really been noticeable except towards the endgame (10-15% slower at most)
Samuel L 14 Jul @ 6:29am
Does this affects ai Courts too? if so, this sound svery lag inducing
Nider001  [author] 12 Jun @ 11:29pm
I've released a few additional minor patches to account for various new game/dlc mechanics. Most notably, the courts (camps) of landless adventurers are no longer affected by the marriage-related features.
Nider001  [author] 10 Jun @ 1:37pm
I decided to commemorate my return to CK3 by updating this mod. The core idea remains unchanged, but I introduced some minor QoL features (check out the changelog for details). Have fun!
仙人卡尔 17 Apr, 2024 @ 8:19pm
can you make a version to only let courtier marry each other,not random new person?
Hyme 25 Mar, 2024 @ 7:58pm
Does this need an update?
Endazhu 28 Feb, 2024 @ 10:00pm
this is kinda what I'm looking for but, I'd like the marriage to be queries from obscure characters. Like, sending their ruler for the permission to marry. I'll try it out anyway. Thank you for this
Saint-Roch 30 Jan, 2024 @ 1:54pm
Is this mod compatible with Better Marraige AI ?
cuomo860 22 Jan, 2024 @ 8:02am
@moochaPL. Yes, it will run the script 15% of the time which means about 30% the character will have a chance of marrying or being married to each year.

In my tweaks for this mod on the limits I added
scope:spouse = {
number_of_personality_traits_in_common = {
target = root
value >= 1
}

This limit to the function so they will at least marry somebody with something in common and additionally, got rid of the section where it would create characters to marry. There are already enough characters in the game.
moochaPL 22 Jan, 2024 @ 7:03am
Is this the frequency with which the AI looks for a spouse?

MCMAG_yearly_pulse = {
random_on_action = {
15 = MCMAG_on_action_marriage
85 = 0

Announcement:

Unfortunately, I'll soon have to quit modding for a very long time (at least a year most likely) for irl reasons. As stated previously, this mod is very simple and should continue working fine with future game versions. If the issues do appear (e.g. another marriage/guardianship rework happens), feel free to pick up where I left off as long as you properly credit the original mod and author.
Armmine 19 Nov, 2023 @ 10:22pm
This mod is awesome. Thank you.
But if you got some time I would like to see a way to stop specific courtiers from marrying. Like, I don't want my secret lovers to suddenly marry themselves off.
Nider001  [author] 18 Nov, 2023 @ 6:28am
@HondaCivic2004Driver, should be compatible (the answer is always yes unless proven otherwise)
HondaCivic2004Driver 16 Nov, 2023 @ 2:49pm
Is this compatible with better education mod?
Nider001  [author] 11 Nov, 2023 @ 1:48am
FYI, the mod is designed in a very simple way, so it should remain compatible with the newest game version without requiring compatibility updates
cuomo860 1 Nov, 2023 @ 9:18am
The functions are similar yes, but in looking at the compatching for my Super Compatch there shouldn't be any issues. Either one or the other will be used by the engine depending on situation.
Life 1 Nov, 2023 @ 8:45am
Is this mod compatible with the Love Marriage Family? It seems that their functions are similar
Lzeys 31 Oct, 2023 @ 8:28pm
I hope this feature will affect every ruler, as it can be very difficult to match your own family members in the middle of the game
jojobe 21 Oct, 2023 @ 3:11am
I hope this work i hate having to marry people off manually
Kaepbora 6 Oct, 2023 @ 12:04am
Much needed feature thank you!
Nider001  [author] 2 Oct, 2023 @ 10:54pm
@Dovakim my comment literally right below yours addresses that. I guess I should add some of that info into mod description.
Dovakim 2 Oct, 2023 @ 4:59pm
This mod works really well. Better than I expected! Now my court is full of useless people. I love that too! but... if every court is full of people, that would make lags
Nider001  [author] 22 Sep, 2023 @ 10:43pm
In case anyone is worried about population, I'm currently nearly 400 years into my playthrough with the mod being active the whole time and I can assure you that the game runs fine on my rather aged PC (1060 6gb GPU, i5-6500 CPU). As cuomo860 says, CK3 is capable of limiting population growth by default. For example, the Byzantine empire (the largest and oldest one in the world besides mine) only has 46 characters in its court despite existing for centuries. [i.imgur.com]

If you still don't believe me, one of my replies below contains a simple edit that makes the mod only apply to players.
cuomo860 22 Sep, 2023 @ 1:45pm
@Hyme Yeah, I have my own take on the Higher Mortality mod included in my Super Compatch along with integration of this mod. I've worked with Fletz on tweaking our stuff. My version aims at historical realisim goes much more into the weeds than his but his is excellent as well.

There is the population control mod but I feel that is way too heavy handed.

The game does an excellent job of culling no frill characters. The main issue with population control in the game comes from mods that create characters willy nilly characters with special skills or high traits as the game will not trigger to kill them out of pools.
Hyme 22 Sep, 2023 @ 11:17am
cuomo860 Aug 26 @ 11:30am
There are enough restrictions to the amount of children lower level leaders can have. The games natural pool size restrictions and culling of characters means this shouldn't cause too many issues. There will be less need for the game to create characters as well upon the death of lower.level characters because of lineages. I don't think the AI doing this will have as much effect as you think

센도 Aug 26 @ 3:45am
The population is too large. AI should not be applied.

I recommend the Higher Mortality if your worried about population size.
Storm_KAIju 21 Sep, 2023 @ 4:57am
@Ole Cranky Gamer Did you ever resolve the child education bug? I am having a similar issue.
412345123214 6 Sep, 2023 @ 7:06am
ty really good mod much needed as a basic mechanic in the game to make your court feel more alive
Nider001  [author] 5 Sep, 2023 @ 8:34pm
@412345123214, add the highlighted line into your text file and you should be good to go: https://i.imgur.com/kdcaSl7.png
412345123214 5 Sep, 2023 @ 8:32am
is there a way to make it only work for the player instead of also for the AI it just to much I think no need to adjust the main mod if you feel like it is fine for the AI I can do it my self just need direction on where it is enabled for the AI
Nider001  [author] 30 Aug, 2023 @ 1:13am
@SiN, no, the mod does not include this functionality and I likely won't add it (already answered in the comments right below yours). I believe lieges should not have such power over courtiers in the first place, unless both are from the same dynasty.
Ole Cranky Gamer 29 Aug, 2023 @ 6:25pm
Good to know SIN, I was removing mods trying to find the problem. Anyone know how I can see an error log of conflicts?
SiN 29 Aug, 2023 @ 12:05pm
Manually educate a child is a current bug introduced by the new DLC patch.

A question to you Nider001. Is there a way to receive a request from the obscure courtier that they would like permission to marry so and so if they are both in your court? I had just invited a very beneficial courtier to be married to my son when my old Councillor bishop (astatu) married her first within 1-2 days of her arriving to my court. While i find this funny i would have liked for him to ask me permission to doing so.
Nider001  [author] 28 Aug, 2023 @ 9:38pm
@Ole Cranky Gamer, do you have any other mods enabled? Does the issue appear/disappear when you enable/disable my mod specifically? Is your game version up to date (1.10.0.1)?
Ole Cranky Gamer 28 Aug, 2023 @ 3:56pm
Having an issue when I enabled this mod that now I cannot manually educate a child
Nider001  [author] 28 Aug, 2023 @ 7:50am
@Ēarendel, marriages are random, but on average they take several years to happen, which is why I used the word "often". And once again, I appreciate your feedback, but I'm not planning to add such features
Ēarendel 28 Aug, 2023 @ 7:30am
It's not several years, it's completely random. Which is why I'm asking to give player agency to what happens for the player and not make it RNG.
Nider001  [author] 28 Aug, 2023 @ 3:15am
@Ēarendel, such features are not planned as I'd like to keep the mod as simple as possible. But you should have more than enough time to marry off your important courtiers manually (it often takes several years for them to get married by themselves)
Ēarendel 28 Aug, 2023 @ 1:06am
Could you make it so that a marriage request comes to the ruler first before the marriage happens? It's such an underutilized feature.
Ēarendel 28 Aug, 2023 @ 1:04am
This would be a perfect mod if courtiers only married with permission in your court, or ignores marked characters. There are certain characters you would prefer finding a spouse in due time yourself.
