This looks very interesting, but I disagree with the machete changes specifically, the size and being thrown. Machetes are big. Also I liked the one aim on melee.

Creds? I've used mods like yours Timmeh before in a number of games (mostly FO4) and in my experience the mod creator's knowledge of real life firearms was - shall we say - lacking. And that totally blows my immersion as I am IRL a gun enthusiast and very knowledgeable about firearms.

How is your real life firearm knowledge Timmeh and is that knowledge reflected in your mod?

Seems to work fine so far, but I noticed that any weapon mod that increases shots fired per burst doesn't work.

So did people figure out if this mod still works with 1.5? I understand that it was Timmeh's tool bag mod that was causing issues with Bobby Ray's, not this mod.

This weapon mod is much better than the others. Models look better, tuning makes more sense. It could be the best there is. What really pisses me off is that it doesn´t work anymore and broke my savegames.

This doesn't work anymore until it gets updated to the 1.5 version. Bobby ray store will not work and will cause guns and other armor to have incorrect data in it.

I'm worry too . His mod is best weapon and armor mod

High Quality model gun and have a realistic fire mode.

Semi Auto gun is Semi Auto .Not single shot or bust shot like AR .

Armor mod is good too .it not much than the game need than another mod .

To the people complaining about bugs: this mod needs to be updated. Fingers crossed that Timmeh will update it, but I worry he has become inactive.

Uzi gun is gun game can progress with this gun if you or enemy have is this gun in team

And some random missing UI some time Ui will be Broken and have a bug

@Peiper You just need to consider the repair process as cleaning a weapon after each battle and then everything will become logical.

Timmeh: suggestion/argument - Just because some Soviet weapons have great reliability doesn't mean the NATO weapons do not, especially non-mil spec ones made for the consumer market like the AR-15. Aside from cleaning, I believe most guns only start malfunctioning/losing accuracy after a certain amount of wear - not right away. I mean, after a couple thousand rounds or more have gone through them. While I understand the mechanics of Jagged Alliance does not take into account barrel and mechanism wear over time, that doesn't mean weapons should be so heavily penalized. If a gun is worn out, one would not use it. But until then, it should be reliable - especially those used for single or short bursts, keeping the heat and internal/mechanical wear minimal. Having to repair firearms after every battle is just obnoxious.

I'm about 15 hours into my second run and I am using your weapon and armour mods and I am loving it. The junk crossbow is great and I'm enjoying the new entry level loot weapons and the tweaks to the vanilla weapons.

maybe its just me but i find auto-5 with suppressor have no firing sound at all. Anyone else also have this? (the noise range is also too low imo)

Thank you all, deleting the mods folder and then resubbed worked perfectly. It was some sort of leftover mod there that interfered with it.

I had the same problem as @Selthar and fix it myself i only touched some weapons only so i can't say for all items but so far i haven't found any problem again till today, so i am using 4.11 version released in Dec 18,2023 and will not update for a while as i did some modding on the mod for myself, here's what happened and what i did: White square box happen only if i open the mod from in-game mod editor as the editor unpack the mod in C:\Users\(user name)\AppData\Roaming\Jagged Alliance 3\mods, either save it or not as long as the file is there after I restart the game big white square box shows up mostly on weapon parts.If I delete the unpacked file and re-subscribe then everything works fine as intended but since I want to make some changes for my own enjoyment i edit with the mod editor save it and then repack the file myself and replace the original file in \SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\1084160\3017633184. Big white square box corona virus gone.

@Timmeh, Please look at MP40. When upgrading the spring, there are no changes in increasing the number of shots in a burst.

@Selthar, must be bug in the entity files for the mosin. The editor sometimes screws up the files in the uploaded version while it still looks fine on my end.

Hi! When using this mod, this happens. This is the only mod that is active, brand new game. On the weapons modification page, same thing. Any ideas?

The Galil rifle in the upgrade menu has visual bugs (some parts of the weapon disappear). With the G3 rifle, if it is not in your backpack but in your hands, the game crashes.

@veldhans, I did some testing and I see what you mean. I guess it's the AI path finding that gets stuck in an endless loop when it has detected mines but cannot find a way around them.
For now maybe avoid using them in tunnels.

I checked many times and am sure that the game crashes due to installed mines. If this problem cannot be solved, then it is better to remove them.

I'm not 100% sure, but it just so happened that when I used mines on the map, the game sometimes crashed during my opponent's turn. And this is not from the detonation of mines, but simply from their presence in an active state.

First of all thank you for all the cool work you've put into this game so far.

Some minor complaints. I realize this is still meant to be 'game-ish' mod and not total milsim or anything, but I think it feels odd 9mm mp5 and 5.56 m16 deal very similar damage, and my biggest pet peeve of all: battle rifles still behaving like weak assault rifles, despite using big calibers! i.e M14 deals same damage as AK despite using 7.62x51mm vs 7.62x39mm, big difference. I get you probably don't want to turn FAL, M14 and Galil into dragunov clones, but it just feels very off to have them be another assault rifle clones. Also speaking of dragunov, it doesn't really make any sense it gets a burst fire option.

@Timmeh. Thanks for your reply. I was hoping to save you some time and did a little reasearch on the reliability of the M16.

The early M16's had issues (1964/Vietnam). Some of the issues were with the design or manufacturing, some were due to the quality of the gunpowder being used. A lot of the problems were resolved by the M16A1 in 1967.

In 1969, the M16A1 was considered to be superior to and replaced the M14.

The M16A2 (1983 - Adopted by the US Marines) had extensive modifications making the rifle more effective and reliable.

The default M16 in the game is the M16A2.

The difference between an M4/M16 and an AR-15 is the trigger group. The AR-15 is semi-automatic only and doesn't have a burst fire option. It's sold for civilians. The AR-15 can be converted by installing the M4/M16 trigger group.

@eldarian, Thanks for sharing your experience. I probably need to take another look at the stats to balance things out with the increased wear from higher burst shots... I've heard some different opinions on glocks and M16s (especially the early models depicted in game) but I may be mistaken.
The overwatch persistence is also something I'd like to see changed, but I haven't dug into it yet, so I'm not sure where that is handled. Should definitely be possible to change it though.
I'm working on other stuff right now, but might add that at some point.

@LtChambers removing should be free, but free re-attachment would require some change to that mechanic, which is not currently something I'm intent on doing.

@aratas I'm not sure what is going on with the store. From what I've seen it does restock misc items, but sometimes takes a few restock events to get there. I don't know what's causing this inconsistency.

@heemanguri, I haven't used the GC militia mod, special pricing for that is not a high priority for me, but I might have a solution at some point.

@Psykoman, I might expand melee weapons if devs ever release animations for blunt weapons or a mod example on how to add new animations. I'm not too interested in simply adding more visual variety if there's hardly any difference to existing items in terms of functionality.

I'm really liking your mods. Thank you for making them.

Only a suggestion but it seems to me that the reliability for AR type weapons (5.56), MP5's, and glocks is really lower than they should be. The M16A2 has been in service in the USA armed services since 1983 (plus they are in service in 80 countries). MP5's and glocks are pretty much a standard for many police forces. Usage wouldn't be that wide spread with poor reliability.

My personal experience with AR-15's and Glocks is that they are very reliable weapons and very rarely have a failure unless they are not maintained at all. I haven't used an MP5 but they have a very good reputation.

One more question. Is it possible to modify the behavior of overwatch to make it act like mg setup as far as remaining persistent across turns unless cancelled? I find myself spending a lot of time resetting overwatch on every turn. If it's possible, could you point me in the right direction to where it would need to be modified?

The currently best mod. You change the things that have always bothered me. Helmet with NVG, land mines. Perfect.
Would you expand the melee weapons a bit? Tomahawk, karambit, trench dagger.
