Any plans to change/improve enemy AI? It's probably the biggest problem I have with Cossacks and it'd be nice to see someone fix it :)

Modificato il parametro d'attacco delle unità. Adesso tutte le unità possono attaccare e distruggere gli edifici. ho notato che dando la possibilità soltanto ai cannoni di distruggere gli edifici, rendeva il gioco troppo lento. ho copiato questa cosa da aoe spero vi sia di gradimento :D

Melkor it is in the very last version of State Vs Country mod. An option when you create a game on a random map either solo or online.

There is already a mod with this system. The point is that I want to make a mod that makes the game more interesting by improving some dynamics but without changing too much, players love this type of game. I don't want to make it realistic, all these changes would create a real "new game".. That's not what I want...

You're talking about the cannons still being "powerful" did you update the mod or are you still working on the prototype? Also, I doubt that you have the sanity or motivation to make the thing that i'm gonna tell you right now. So my idea is that you could make the Moral system from Cossacks 2 except im gonna make it way easier for you, just make your troops and enemies troops go back to your city if they take enough damage, it's just way more realistic than them standing there and taking the hits till the last drop of blood.

But realistic cannons are absolutely overpowered, they just take a long time to reload, I mean i'm not telling you how to mod but if you wanna go historical make the cannons op but make the Reload last longer.

For this you can already do it from the starting settings of the game. I just made the cannons less effective to make the battlefield more real and made the cannons not a problem (many players didn't make the cannons available in multiplayer because they were too strong).

You should make Cannons, Howitzers and other cannons BROKEN just make them cost alot and make them take alot of time to make.

I changed the dispersion of the guns and their explosive radius. And now even turrets have high dispersion and long range.

Now I'm doing some tests regarding the cannons.. I try to make them less precise but more powerful as an explosive beam.. I'll see if they don't become too unbalanced

Now I'm doing some "friendly fire" tests and trying to find out what's wrong. Surely, now that muskets have bullets, beyond mountains or hills it's not possible to shoot, the shots won't reach the target. target. As for formations, it is possible to increase the overall defense and attack, change the number of units per formation and the rate at which the formation is "fixed", but unfortunately you cannot change the damage types per unit based on to the training you set. I already have a mod on my computer that makes each unit stronger than another, but it's only good for PvP so I haven't made it public.

Something is really wrong when units are on reachable mountains or even small foothills or small pits. I was playing against AI and when it came to battle, my musketeers in 196 unit squad attacked a very small group of pikemen and started killing each other, and out of the 196 units I ended up with ~80/90 soldiers, and the enemy didn't even reach me. :sleepyjill:

Also could you make the Howitzers explosion way bigger? Would be more historically accurate you should watch the series "1864" it shows the true power of Howitzers. Just make the area they hit larger.

I'm excited for your "Units cannot be hit behind walls, etc.." mod idea

But the things that I've found lame or that have made the game not so much fun to play was how strong the Pikemen are, they can swarm the musketeers. This is a minor change idea from me but could you make the Cannons impact like actually EXPLODE instead of just 5 dust particles and a black spot where the cannonball hit.

Also could you respond to my "Square Formation" mod idea, I just wanna know if it's possible for you to make something like that, it would be really cool and actually useful.

I'll leave this edit until next Monday. Follow me on youtube and share your thoughts! I created a video where you can like or dislike it so you can understand if you prefer this new one or restore the old files. Finally, after testing the game many times I managed to find some balance between all things. Here comes the mod where bullets leave trails and damage more people if they are too close (one above the other) Everything else is like the TotalCossacks mod (damage between units, you can attack cannons with muskets) the essential difference is that the units behind the buildings take no damage, while the buildings take damage from hits (not direct, musketeers can't attack buildings directly but damage them 25damage) this creates a very nice battle effect

. Troops can now take cover behind palisades. Faster units like Hussars, if on the move are now much harder to hit so keep them on the move!! even the infantry, if on the move, has the possibility of dodging some blows ;D but much less than the cavalry. Unfortunately after hours and hours, I couldn't add the musket fire animation, with the bullet exiting, but I have to say it's very appealing even so. Let me know what you think!

I have already made a mod to make the game similar to age of empire, each unit has some kind of advantage over another unit, but this makes the AI ​​too poor as it doesn't handle unit differences well. moreover when you have too many units in play (2000 example) it is too hard to keep up with all the differences. :steamhappy:
as for the mods You can edit the files in data/ script / lib/ unit (for units) and weapon (for weapons) but it's not very intuitive, you have to waste hours on it. The other mod is almost ready. now units placed behind buildings do not take damage but have cover.. as well as behind wooden barricades or walls.. cannot shoot and cannot be hit. Also another (Easy) mod suggestion is that you could make Anti-Cavalry Formation or in other words the "Square" Formation actually worth using by giving units that are in the formation +40% Fefense and Damage against cavalry.

I agree but I guess thats what walls are for. I suppose you could make normal Cannons stronger and the other cannons will stay as they be. This will encourage people to actually build walls.
Plus I like that you're making a mod about Building taking damage from bullets, I think that's cool and nobody's done that before.

Thanks for the comment! I'm trying to make a mod where buildings take damage from bullets and a single shot can injure or kill multiple people(this would avoid placing multiple units on top of each other). unfortunately to have the focus on up to two rows, I don't have a clue how to do it hahaha. as for the cannons, it would be a problem as from far away they would destroy the cities too quickly ruining the gaming experience :D

Very Good mod, I have suggestions for an update or another mod you could make :

You should make it so that only the 2 front rows fire (to make it more realistic)
and Increase the dmg of the Cannons because it would also.. be realistic if you shot
a building twice or even once and it would engulf in flames.
